I won't be able to make it this week and besides time zones are a huge pain in the ass for mid-week races. It's either euro gaf or US gaf unless we race in the middle of the night.

Oh, didn't think about that... Anyway, I can be very flexible with time these days :p

I guess so Polyphony. Wednesday or thursday should be ok for me.

I will install my wheel this weekend at my parents home. (yeah, my apartment still isn´t ready, so all my furniture is still in boxes).

Any chance we have some races friday or saturday?

I´m dying for some GT5 action!

I'm afraid you're a bit too late :( It's Christmas Eve/Christmas over the weekend so I'm expecting that quite a few people will be unable to join, including me. There might be a chance on Friday though, who knows.

What song did you use for this video, if you don't mind me asking?

Awesome video btw.

Enjoy :p

Amazing as usual Polyphony!

You gonna do one for the Caterham races from the previous week? :p

Thanks! Hmm, I don't think I will, no time + laziness with the upcoming holidays. I wanted to do a video of the Tokyo race with everybody in it since I saw that there were multiple photo-finishes and great battles in the entire field, but alas, I'm lazy lol.

It looks like I might be at home for this weekend after all and hey, I know what I said but I like the last update and the 86 so much that I'm willing to race again. I hope it doesn't turn into a lagfest again :(

Btw someone has to reset the lounge. Not working under 2.02

Fixed.

As for this weekend - I won't be home so you guys have to arrange something. As it looks now I'll be available for a race the weekend after that.

First Sunday after New Year's (not New Year's day...) we will do a Super GT 500 race on Spa.

What happened with the 86 event?

Friday before New Year's? I just know I won't be around much until just before New Year's so I decided to post the first 2012 race a bit early. We can still do an 86 event if you guys are up for it.

OUCH !! tell me more
Well, do you remember those races with the starting grid f*cked up because someone abandoned the lounge or went to pit-stop? That won't be a problem from now on :)

Angst, now all drivers need to buy the DLC track pack in order to race on Spa... Maybe you should write it somewhere in the OP... just to be sure...

Interesting analysis on post-2.02 tire wear: http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=236549

The guy ran in a GT500 car for 30 minutes and broke down the performance of different tires. Seems like RS and RM have a large advantage on RH for a race of that duration.

Maybe a longer race requiring 1 pitstop for RH, 2 pitstops for RM and 3-4 pitstops for RS might be more even (all depending on the track as well).

I'm not sure I agree with his analysis. For one thing he stayed out on those RH's way too long. For each of his RS pits his previous lap time was only about 3 seconds off his average. For his one RH pit it was 13 seconds off. I guess he was trying to make the midway point before pitting but 30 laps is an arbitrary number on an arbitrary track, so I'd rather he just used common sense pit strategy. Secondly, his average RH lap time was only about 5 seconds slower then his RS times (123 vs 118), and needing to pit 6 laps earlier it comes down to if the pit stop cost more or less then 30 seconds, and some tracks (like the ovals) have very long pit times. So I really don't think it's as clear cut as his analysis makes it seem. I'd like to see a batter analysis with more consistent times and strategy.

Don't really want to race in Super GT's but I'll think about it. Right now I'm having lots of fun tearing tracks up with the DLC cars.
