Gran Turismo 5 |OT2| We Love Cars

There should be an option to install the entire game to the HDD. Just have the disc in the console for "authentification" purposes. It would dramatically reduce load times.

Get Fersis to tweet Kaz... :p

Man, dat patch! All sorts of great shit added.

- New "online dealership" for hard to find cars. (I saw 2 pickups, some 70's Jap cars, a Touring car, and, yep, a Formula GT)

- Garage now remembers your sorting method.

- New HUD options (disable instrument panel display, disable all) Along with the map options, makes it much easier to pick what you want.

- Added mechanical damage option to practice mode.

- Several new challenges/ special events.

Didn't see any new replay options though, so thats a bummer.

These Seasoned Events can be easily exploited.

Make a new PSN account --> Complete Seasoned Events --> Purchase expensive cars --> Gift them to your old account.

Except most expensive cars have level requirements in place, blocking the new account from purchasing it.

Just reduced the weight as much as i can and used gear box on Fiat (140km/h), Honda (didnt change anything O:), RX7 (210km), Challenger (290) GTR SpecV (sport soft and 290km)

How the hell are you getting the Honda in first on that track stock? The thing accelerates slow and corners like a boat.

What a difference a month makes (oh the irony). If these features (online rewards, online dealership, mechanical damage, etc) had been in the game at launch I'm sure the reviews would've been at least 10+ points higher out of 100.

Already gifted it to a dummy account to carry on with the evil plan O:

More on the evil plan

Sum of all xp from seasonal race events = 255,000
= Level 20, need 61,310 till Lvl 21

SUm of total prize fund = 2.5million

You can buy a lot of decent cars and gift back :D

Don't you need a fair amount of money on the dummy account in the first place to buy the cars? Or are you gifting the cars from main account to dummy, winning, buying, then gifting original cars and new ones back?

CR-Z is very cheap.

Mad skillz :D

I play awful, don't have a wheel and managed to get it to #2 on the 2nd try. I did some mods, though...

Try weight reduction + custom transmision (limit to 190 km/h) + max allowed weigh reduction (stage 1 + bonnet + windows) + aerodynamic mods + body rigidity.

Gifting

Isn't that going to take 6 days? 5 days to gift the cars at one per day, and an extra day to gift back the car you buy? Even longer if you buy more than one car.

The problem is, you can only gift one car per day (per account). This just seems like way too much work for only 2.5million credits worth of cars.

You don't need to gift cars to the dummy account.

Buy a CR-Z, do a race. Get some money, tune it a little bit, get to #1. Now, you have enough money for a V-Spec, max tuned to the race requirements. Win #1 and you'll have enough money for the rest of the cars.

nice.

I think it's that last corner which prevented me from golding this race. What speed or gear did you take it at? If I try to go too fast, I end up flying off the track. If I go too slow, my lap times are too slow and the first car wins.

That specific corner is where you should make TONS of time. The AI does it way wrong. You down shift once and turn in HARD and easy the throttle a bit, then hard on the throttle again. You do it super fast and you exit it with great speed for the straight.

Yes but it's a side show to get the moneys and buy the cars.

WOW, the thread grew like 10 pages overnight.

Can someone at least confirm the following for me:

The update notes say that your mileage and wins now record in your GT Life "profile and garage"...does this mean that mileage and maybe even damage is now carried over from online to offline? (i.e. if I drive a brand new car with 0 miles online, when I get back to my garage offline, will it have X number of miles on it now and need chassis repairs, etc.??)

I won't be able to play for hours yet. D:

Yeah, I noticed that when I was getting my Historic Race trophy for three way showdown, the AI is awful through that last critical turn. It is great because it is a double wammy since it is an uphill corner exit.

What kinda magic y'all working on your vspecs to win the evenr? I got 487 hp, all weight reductions, chasis support, soft sports, transmision at 168mph. My lap times is usually at ~1:30. Still need to shave off 15-20 seconds in total for first.
Perhaps I am just doing the track wrong ;/

Dude, I can be in like 4th by the second lap, 2nd by the 3-4th, and then the 1st is WAY the hell out on the track to where it's impossible to catch him. Infuriating.

Need to try SS5 again, but some people are saying you get 300k and xp for winning that event after the first time. If true 300k for 7mins work....best grind option by a mile.

Wait, do you have to unlock tracks? For example, the only Nürburgring tracks I'm seeing in Practice and Arcade Mode is Nürburgring GP/D and Nürburgring GP/F. Shouldn't there be a lot more?

Yup I'm gonna do it with my challeger except my friend who i gifted it to just tuned it more and said, "fuck now i can't enter the race":lol
I learnt that the hard way giving the first one an oil change.

We need a time break down for creating a dummy account, fully doing seasonal and gifting back to yourself v. Grinding new reward level Indy

Especially since you can only gift once a day, and the quick restart button is back, I think Indy is going to be far more efficient.

Indy is more efficient in terms of how quickly you get stuff back. In terms of work done i.e. as little tedious grinding as possible, the other method is much more desirable for several people. Also a good method for re-winning prize cars :D

It is. The dummy account trick sounds tedious and too time consuming. Factor in the load times and I feel the time wasted there could be equally well spent on the Indy speedway.

Same here, I am getting 1.29s and even 1.27s but can't catch No.1. I am using a stock GT-R with oil change which look me right up to the limit. Then weight reductions, suspension, gearing and chassis. I am about 10 second behind I think.
