Grand Theft Auto IV has the best driving physics of any open-world game, ever

Except for that predecessor called IV that quite a few people hate with a passion.
To me personally it doesn't matter WHAT tiny things they changed. V would have to change almost everything IV did and I seriously doubt that. Till then I'm not even slightly interested. That's how bad IV was. And I bought the LE of IV because I got fooled by all sorts of reviews. I guess many other people remember that as well.

Does it have an option between this half-GT-half-arcade and GTA-classic driving like Mafia 2? I guess not. If Rockstar cared, they would have put that in for example.

Personally, I think you're overreacting, however I respect your opinion. I too, at first, was very much turned off from Grand Theft Auto 4. I actually happened to start playing the single player campaign on Saturday, for the first time. I had never played IV's single player experience. And as it turns out, I'm loving it. Originally, the driving and a general disinterest in the protagonist turned me off. But I just sat down and started playing, and I'm amazed at how much I'm enjoying it.
