Japan, China, South Korea, Western indies, and France (not Ubisoft, tho) have been putting in lots of work this gen.
GTA6 will certainly sell more than most or even all of those games combined, so maybe from a shareholder POV yes it will "save" the gen but the gen's been far from shitty in terms of games if your tastes aren't extremely limited.

Being in South ALabama and mobile and the country would be a hoot. There is also a very affluent town in south AL that would be right more robbing.That's the northern part of the state border. More than likely the panhandle area due to its description. With some liberty taken, I'm sure. The train bridge and kayak part looks straight out of Alabama/Mississippi.

From the GTA lore, that "national park area" is where the "off the grid hillbillies" live. So it's definitely ripe for it.
They need to have the oldest city in America there, and one of the "most haunted." Would be perfect for their quirky paranormal elements this and RDR have. Throw the Cassadaga "cult town" in there too.

That's never a bad thing. To dial down hype. Personally I don't have hype right now, normally I'd go holy shiiiit new trailer, and I'd watch it over and over again, not now. For me the news of yet another delay killed that hype. And let's be realistic, it can easily move to late 2026 too, sigh. I'm over that.
The way Fallout 4, Split Fiction were announced and released five months later, that's the way. Hell, Oblivion Remaster.
That being said, these are cutscenes and a lot can happen there, it does remain to be seen how many different activities NPCs actually do when playing. Like that beach scene in the first trailer, will it be like that during gameplay? I'd love it.

It'd just be another True Crime or Sleeping Dogs.
However, a GTA about the bad guy(s) redeeming themselves from their crime life is something I've wanted, since GTA 4.

even taking the graphics out of it for a moment, just think of all the internal behind the scenes AI & physics stuff that's running on every single person, object, car, tree etc and then you add in those sort of graphics on top.. how?? nobody has come anywhere close to this level of fidelity, not even Sony's incredible first party studios have eeked out this much from the PS5, can it really all be down to R* Rage engine being absolute lightyears ahead of Unreal 5?

Exactly. This Trailer felt immediately proper GTA to me. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to know the game has seen some kind of "shift" behind the scenes because of how different it felt. Trailer also has an extremely "horny" vibe that I didn't expect at all, hell actual nudity is kind of fully confirmed already:
And having serious doubts was legitimate after how ridiculously tame RDR2 was.
Pretty sure San Andreas body-care is in the game as well, that would translate into one unbelievably hot Lucia potentially.

Also, looks like they still got RT reflections. I don't know how they are still pulling this off on the base console. But at 1440p30, perhaps it isn't as hard.
Natural born killers was what I was looking for in vibes, and it def ain't giving me that. Maybe gta just isn't for me. I always ended up upside down in a tree whenever trying to drive in the prior onesCriminal couple stories can be real cool:
