Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Bad reveal for this game. i expected more gameplay or more than just one character. 4 years and they give us a small teaser. meh. At least ghosts 2 showed us more.

last shot looks meh as fuck.

Amazing next gen first look

Dude its a cinematic trailer lol...you do know the difference between gameplay and this? These sort of trailers give hype to story, not represent anything what the game will look like even though Im sure itll look great but seriously? You are going to put this in graphic fidelity topic? lol

Our narrative goals are rivaled only by our gameplay ambitions. This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog's history,
We are in for a GOTG.

Yes this game cenmatic as last of us or any other game realtime cenmatic scene and this run in UE5 in unannounced rtx gpu as they stated in the beginning of the trailer if you don't see that, also ND new game trailer is inengine cinematic 🙃

its prerendered. so even if they rendered it on a 5090 thats 6x more powerful than the ps5, it likely took them days to render it on that card.

again, ignore every trailer that says pre-rendered. including the mafia trailer.
I thought they said it was real time in engine? Maybe I’m wrong

EDIT: yes I am wrong

Thay stated it was pre-rendered?

Yeah I missed the text there just read the latter half - don’t get the point in saying any of that if it’s not real time. You could prerender that on most gpus I assume. Lame. Sick of these kinds of trailers - gameplay should be required at this point

I really hope in new mafia game they will make the whole world become fully accessible-basically behaving like same way as the traditional of the series.Always finds its very fascinating and luxurious for linear games to have the whole big main map presented to players from the very beginning with vehicle as transportation methods ,especially impressive when you can travel to anywhere you wish xd

I preferred they would going with fantasy settings other than scfi, also main character design is shit compared to their previous games hopefully graphically they will deliver,I still didn't saw the trailer in 4k to judge it's first look

Just watched the Witcher 4 trailer. That looks doable? I get that its pre-rendered but i think that could just be a lot of those smoke and fog effects and the cloth physics. Her face, the side characters all look very gamey and nothing truly cg.

Regardless, pre-rendered nonsense after 4 years of dev time is infuriating. You have 500 devs working on one game for 4 years and they couldnt cobble together some gameplay?

This goes for both ND and CD Project. The guy at the end was lecturing the industry about cost cutting and layoffs, and im like did you watch the two trailers from the biggest studios? 4 long years and no gameplay. its a game award show not a movie award show. The publishers and money men have every reason to layoff the useless devs who sit there for 4 years making cutscenes on unreleased GPUs.

Yeah much of it looked doable, Ciri's hair looked too gamey even, maybe some of those smoke effects & certain physics looked pre-rendered...

I think there might be a surprise at Nvidia CES event about it, and if not, I mean what's the point of saying "Pre-rendered on an unannounced RTX GPU?" like there's some sort of a big tease incoming? It's so weird to kinda "flex" on that.

You can technically "pre-render" this even on an Nintendo 64 theoretically lol.

Just finished watching most of the big game trailers.

Witcher 4 - Prerendered but looks amazing. Decent trailer.
Intergellactic - Not much to say. Too short. They shouldve at least tried to do a big trailer like Witcher 4.
Split Fiction - Disappointed by UE4 graphics, and samey It Takes Two gameplay.
Borderlands 4 - meh
Team Ico game - meh
Mafia - Now this looks amazing. They said its rendered inengine which could mean pre-rendered but there are so many different shots in this trailer that it could just be realtime cutscene graphics. What a great looking game.

Where the fuck was Death Stranding?

DS2 looked more impressive visually in its cinematics than new ND game, plus some awful design in that ND reveal trailer. And what the heck is that hack and slash generic combat shot at the end? Smh.

New Mafia looks cool and graphics look alright (not amazing in actual gameplay snippes), but I don't have high hopes when it comes to Hangar 13.

The rest of the trailers were forgettable with cinematic pre rendered stuff or in game trailers that still look like they're stuck in cross gen era.

Terrible show that I'm glad I don't watch anymore.

Honestly, it's just better to have these in-engine renders than full blown cg that in no way might represent the actual game. I'm sure character models, objects, textures, are all in-game quality and they just rendered out in UE5. It's much better than their early cg trailers.

Also, whats the possibility of this being a 60-fps-only Naughty Dog game? I feel they might go for it. The trailer is in 60fps, but Uncharted 4's reveal trailer was at 60fps too, so...
the trailer looked very doable to me. nothing mind blowing like we were all expecting. definitely a 60 fps target.

the final shot is very mid and definitely captured in 60 fps.

seems like the days of ND targeting 30 fps are long gone. Tlou part 1 was simply a sign of things to come.

I get it

But ND combat in 60FPS *Chefs Kiss*

But hey, it's still early. Im sure the game will look amazing

The trailer is pre-rendered in a custom build of Unreal Engine 5 on an unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU. Powered by the same tech that The Witcher IV is built on, using assets and models from the game itself, it aims to provide players with a cinematic look at the kind of experience the game is aspiring to provide. The trailer was created through a close collaboration between CD PROJEKT RED and Platige Image, who are no strangers to The Witcher universe, having been responsible for intro cinematics in the previous installments of the series.

This is why UE5 is the best engine ever made. Nothing comes close. At high resolutions (native 4k?) you can really see the micro details and lighting really come to life. This whole 1080p temporal smear is really holding everything every current game back

After seeing Hellblade 2, The Matrix Awakens Demo, Marvel 1943 and Wukong, I have certain standards…

Seems only UE5 games have felt “next gen” to me…

Hopefully Naughty Dogs new IP has RTGI etc.

For me RT is the biggest disappointment, I thought it could be a game changer but now I think it is just waste of resources. Apart from the RT reflection I am not sure other RT stuff is even worth it. Even RT reflection makes difference during dark settings with, lots of light source and reflective surfaces.

Cant wait to see what tech they've added to their engine.

Also, 250 person dev team working on it for 4 years, confirmed in the NYT article.

The other 150 devs have been working on TLOU 3 - ND is at 400+ now

Yeah, this is not that impressive for being a fully nextgen ND project, both mafia and botox ciri looks better from the snippets i saw (i still need to sit down in front of the tv to properly watch every trailer).
