So news:

Said to hit Disney Stores by the end of November. No clue yet on the last figure (though hints have been given about variants. I swear if they pick someone stupid like Robbie or the fucking goat over Wendy...

I need that Dipper. And Wendy, if she's the chaser.

So on iTunes, "volume 3" has the first eight episodes of s2 and is $28... does that mean there will be more added as they're released? If so, any idea on how deep into the season it'd go? I see s1 is split into two volumes at $20/ea... this is more confusing than it needs to be. Which I guess is in line with Disney's insane schedule for the show.

Mabel's going to help
Robbie
of all people?
(HA! The "V" stands for "Valentino...")
I dunno, I still have an irking feeling
(if you watch the newest trailer, Dipper is also crowd-surfing, except he has a scowl on his face and you can barely hear him shout "NO!" in the background.)

He better keep an eye on his sis
(and the other on his waifu...just saying...)

Mabel literally dropped her spaghetti.

Don't know if anyone has seen these floating around on Disney XD...

all kinds of fucked up, especially the "Dipper" one. Then again, this was posted on Halloween:

Maybe Gideon's coming back sooner than we thought?

Also, any member of GF-GAF going to this thing?

Finally, more "wisdom" from the mayor himself:

Ok, so I've started watching the first season. Very good. But my biggest question is:

Why do some people have five digits and others have four?

Welcome!

A lot of people have noticed that the kids/good guys have four digits (Dipper/Mabel/Wendy) while the adults and bad guys (Stan/Gideon) have five. When asking about it, various GF team members simply claim it was a cosmetic choice...

Interesting, don't think I've ever seen anything animated do that. I like it though, adds to the uniqueness.

This is the work of a man who understands the internet. I mean, even deleting the tweet? He really gets it.

Odd how rare that seems to be.

Oh Hirsch, you so cray-cray.

Apparently, this came out of that panel Hirsch and co. hosted on Friday.

Some news on that, rumor has it that there will be no new episodes in December!

However, it was also said that the next episode after the "Love God" one will be about
Gideon's breakout from prison...

More news will be posted as soon as it's made available...

Am I wrong in thinking the humour is very Simpsons like? Obviously everything else is very different (and awesome) but the jokes seem very golden age Simpsons to me.

(Still trucking along season 1 btw)

Sigh hopefully it comes back pretty fast next year then.

So, good news!

Disney has officially put "The Love God," up on their on demand service two days early

I was able to catch it tonight (thanks Comcast...) and it was pretty decent.

A few notes for those who watched it (mind your spoilers please!)

-
so, the teens were hanging out in the cemetery and never expected to see Robbie there (considering he lives mere yards away?)
-
HA! Robbie's middle name is Stacy!
-
loved his parents, but wonder if they all hide something creepy (they're too happy...)
-
Robbie's room screams Sideshow Bob (check for the hand drawn anime by the apology letter to Wendy)
-
don't know what to think of the whole Robbie/Tambry thing. Before Mabel enchanted them, it did feel as if they had a thing going, but yet I feel bad for Nate
-
and speaking of, very realistic for the teens to react each in their own petty way to the news. Still trying to decide if Dipper was being more selfish than realistic (based on everything he experienced this summer)
-
So, Thompson is the group's "Meg" huh?
-
Hippie Wendy!
-
Mabel's future couples...shudder
-
Dat Stan balloon!
-
Soos totally creaming Wendy in the face for the bouquet in the credits...

-perhaps my biggest problem with the episode was that
nothing important was revealed or hinted to. Sure, kinda nice that Robbie is less of a threat/some healing between Wendy and him, but then again, Mabel forced the whole relationship, so doesn't it make it just as much as a lie as the whole "hypnotizing Wendy" thing? Does he still hate/want to kill Dipper? What was that "great revenge" that would make Robbie" douchier" that Alex Hirsch hinted to? Even more so, what did happen in "Boyz Crazy?" How did Robbie get that CD? Did he know it's true affects? Why won't Wendy recognize that (beyond his lie)? And did Stan know what it's about (it's the only time he openly aided and encouraged Dipper's "crazy theories.")?

I know after that Hirschs trolling has come to light, heaven only knows what is fact and fiction from now on. The only thing I can see play out now is that someone who hated Dipper and co. (Gideon?) gave the goth that CD promising it'll help with Wendy, only to do something different. Think "Bioshock," guys; what if Wendy was brainwashed into doing something else when the time is right?

Episode leaked. Lots to love about The Love God...
except the ending. Came off a little forced, I think.

edit: welp

There are some really great lines in this episode

"Heaven is punishing us for our terrible taste in everything!"

THoughts:
Wasn't completely against the moral of the story: move on, but it was kinda uncomfortable on how they did it. Robbie and Tambry's freewill was taken away, and Robbie didn't really learn anything. It felt like they should have used the anti-love stuff on Robbie and Tambry, but they stay together regardless (or at least Robbie pulls himself out of the funk).

Yeah, I am not sure about the solution of the story.
But I liked Robbys parents. I am pretty convinced that they're necromancers.

Finally caught up with this (was three episodes behind), enjoyed the last two but it's hard to argue with the plot relevancy of (and, subsequently, the effort that was put into) Society of the Blind Eye.

Also, not enough Stan recently!

Yeah I agree. Don't like how they lost their free will.

Woah, Season 1s last two episodes are like a one two punch of amazingness. Bill is terrifying. And that cliff-hanger... I don't know how I would have survived waiting.

Anyways onward to season two!

I think the point was not to meddle any further. The Love God's potion seem to create genuine love between two and breaking them apart now would be forcing your will unto them again.

How does anybody knows if it is genuie. The mere fact that they needed to throw a potion on them makes it very ungenuie. Its not a sit down and shut up potion, its a love potion.

Just wanted to post some thoughts on The Love God (quick note, I lurk this thread but have never really felt a strong reason to post until now)

Anyway I thought this was a pretty subpar episode. Stan Balloon was pretty good (it easily made up for Stan's lack of screentime in the past few episodes) but I couldn't agree with the moral of the episode.

I really don't like that they don't remove the love potion's effects. I mean, yeah Robbie was pretty miserable, but did they not see the irony of love-hypnotizing Robbie and Tambry when it was love-hypnotizing that lead to Robbie being miserable in the first place? It's just like, what? Really?

The whole episode itself just felt like a send up of bad shipping. I mean, the way she picked Robbie and Tambry as a couple (because she assumes they have something very vaguely in common), the way that the Love God says not to play God but then gives up and lets them do it anyway and the ending where everyone just pretty much forgets about it and the rest of the group just goes back to normal because reasons (even though one of them had an actual crush on Tambry). It just irked me.

I don't have much else to say since it wasn't really a story centric-episode at all other than: I didn't like Mabel once again falling prey to her past crushes (was kind of hoping to avoid that as it was a Mabel-centric episode that wasn't about her having a crush but eh). And also Robbie's parents are definitely suspicious but also pretty funny (though I thought them using the open glass coffin as a table was sort of creepy).

What most people take issue with in the Love God episode is pretty much the love potion conundrum from Tristan and Iseult. It's a complex issue, to say the least.

I Think the better way to end this in a similar way would be
to have sprayed them with the anti love potion but then have them be like "hey, you really aren't bad and I do actually kind of like you" rather than their will basically be taken away.
