Not hugely popular at the time but has had a major influence on bands from Nirvana to Metallica
The Chameleons - Script of the Bridge
Inexplicably they weren't bigger than they were, this is stunning debut and one of the best post-punk albums still to this day.

Yeah there are a lot of good songs on that one. I also like their third album.
Also, the first supertramp is my favorite. It's their most progressive rock-styled album with big folk influences.
Plus:
First Nick Drake is still my favorite.
Feelies created some excellent Post-punk here. The first song is still one of the best openers ever.
Lo-Fi Elliott Smith. There are better albums but that one is really strong.

Infinite doesn't count because nobody liked that shit until AFTER he was famous.
EDIT - also, this little album by some dude.
I was going to let you know about infinite lol but it still is his debut.

One in a Million is her best, but her debut is really good too.
Still her best album. Live is up there too just because of Ye Yo.

Songs in a Minor is so good. I like Diary better, but Songs in a Minor is a close second. I love "Troubles" so much.

I love me some Kim and this album has all the bangers. No Time, Big Momma Thang, Crush on You, Queen Bitch, M.A.F.I.A. Land, Drugs. The only one I think is just okay is Dreams. I love the beat of Drugs so much. It's one of my favorites.
The only Kanye album I like. I feel like he fell off after this.
