The Sylvari starting area is easily the most beautiful of them all. Even my Asura likes it!

When you guys hit 80, did you go straight for Lv80 exotics? Or did you buy something else while you saved up for those?

I just hit 80 on my Mesmer and have no idea what gear to go after. I only have 6g 85s, and the exotics on the TP costs a couple gold a piece at least. Should I just go with rares for now, while saving up? All my gear is extremely behind, so I need to replace everything.

I haven't gone striaght for exotics. I have a couple of rares and one exotic weapon. The exotics are too expensive/hard to get.

Mesmer at 80 is pretty fun and effective. I generally feel like Im pulling my weight, despite my constant switching of trait builds to find some effective combinations.

I still need to get some exotics going, but thatll get there once I start dungeon running more regularly.

Glad to hear it's still effective. I'm always a heavy armor or ranger/thief type of guy but none of those classes clicked yet.

Besides AoC I never play a cloth caster class so I'm always looking at them as the grass is greener lol

I spent gold to start on my Whispers armor for my Mesmer, but maybe I should have used the gold to level my tailoring. I do like the Whispers skin for light armor though.

They really need to adjust the cost on armor and weapons via karma vendors. It costs more for a rare cultural weapon than it does for a piece of exotic armor from one of the Orr temples.

Looks like bugged DEs worked their way even down to level 15 areas now for me. Game is hating on me. :/

I just got to Iron Marches on my necro.

Champion Brea DE bugged with missing Brea and cubs.
Kill ghost spiders heart bugged with no ghost loggers around to spawn ghost spiders.
Some heart that involves letting dogs out to help you sniff out enemies is...weird since the dog just barks up a tree and nothing happens.
Bunch of escort DEs bugged.

Don't remember it being this buggy when I first went to Iron Marches. @_@

What dyes are you using?

I think I used Illumination (gold), Sapphire (blue), winter ice, frost (white/grey), and stone, matte (brown) at the time.

I had the same experience. It's actually because the last time you were there they were likely updating the game almost daily. When they do these updates all the events reset.

Since it's been like a week since the last update broken events are really accumulating.

Their servers have this rate of decay issue that breaks events the longer the server is online. I think they never noticed the issue because they were updating builds often back in the alpha/beta days. I think they're working to fix that as fast as possible.

There's a never ending event in Brisbane Wildlands with an infinite spawn of bandits. It's really annoying, but you can farm a ton of low level trophies from the loot sacks they drop.

Still I enjoy the game so much, level 31 guardian, soon I'll be able to do my first dungeon and start to get my first set.

I need a good 2H sword though.

Also being an armorsmith and weaponsmith might not be the best idea, I need like a trillion small venom sac...

Yeah it's making it hard to level up especially with CM not being as rewarding.

They should just restart the servers once every 2-3 days. That seems to reset all the bugged skill points/events. If they can't reliably stop them from bugging out in the first place, this is a good temporary solution.

Between queues, bugged events and dungeon reworks I think I might just shelve the game for a while. Not really having fun anymore, plus replacing the 30 Orichialcum ingots I "lost" to craft more stuff has proven more boring than it's worth.

In other news: Might stacking is actually really effective for a DPS improvement. Especially if you can get it to stick around longer. Loving Superior Pirate runes.

Oh yeah, thanks for that. I'm still trying to find a staff, scepter, and shield to work with; kind of broke at the moment from armor repairs doing TA exp. Currently only have a hammer and greatsword.

There's (almost) always the Auction House. Plenty of nice, cheap masterwork weapons there.

Do some Dragon events, salvage the components, and sell on the TP. Every 3 hours one comes around.

People who sell at vendor+1 prices make gearing up so cheap. Buy greens. Use for 10 levels and vendor for a net cost of like 15c for full gear.

Haven't noticed it being down that much anymore. Maybe it's because I don't use it that much, but it seems that it's up a good deal more than it's down..

100% in Divinity's Reach! That was more fun than I expected, really enjoyed exploring the city, huge and diverse.

The city explorations are my favourite part of the game.

It's certainly a healthy reason why I haven't played too much. The same set of circumstances with my partner as well. We both envisioned that GW2's economy would have a bumpy road to stability for 4-6 months. The volatility of it all annoys me. I know I should embrace it every now and again, but I need the roots to sink in before I even bother to touch it.

The gear situation in this game is abysmal. I hit 80 and need to completely replace everything, but every single level 80 rare I buy has the generic look of a level 1 piece of armor or weapon. I can't transmute because the stones you get only work for level 79 and below weapons and armor, and using fine transmutation stones seems like such a waste considering how rare they are.

Searching for level 75-79 turns up half a dozen results, and it almost never has the stats I need. I knew the basic transmutation stones didn't work for 80 gear, but for some reason I completely forgot about it as I went about buying my level 80 rare weapons. I'm going to end up losing over 1g selling the stuff back to the TP now.

Tried buying from karma vendors yet? Many have some pretty decent skins for weapons and armor. There's always dungeon rewards too.

Another question about screenshots, I can't seem to figure out how to take screens without the UI and it looks like crap when the screens come out too. I don't even see the high-res option.

Figured it out.

Press Ctrl + Alt + H to hide the UI, screens come out nicer.

I use Bandicam for screenshots. It can save to PNG or high res JPG. Still doesn't capture all lighting and environment effects, but is much better than the ingame screenshot tool.

I done something wrong......the controller can move character and camera but I can't attack..it just brings up panes. Wait it works kinda - I don't think I can get use to this lol..I read the bindings but I don't remember jack.

Same issue here. I can click the right stick in and get the face buttons to be bound to skills, but the right stick turns into a mouse pointer, so I can't move the camera.

But no one describes it in enough convincing detail that would make me say "oh, that is simple."

Anyways, why does medium armor on humans/norns look so...boring. I previewed that crafted level 80 exotic set (with the Shredder helmet) on my norn and it was terrible.

I seems to possible to make some money with 400 crafting as well - at least with jewelery, on item I can craft costs me 60s (3 ectoplasm) + maybe 5s for the other materials, and I sold it for 1g at the TP. Thinking about it, I should probably start looking into mass-producing the highest-selling jewels

also, one Gaffer claims to have made 500g from the TP, so ... yeah
