I think the sheer amount of easy AP the Season 1 achievements gave, if you just played WvW as a matter of course, was reward enough. I do worry though about people who just can't seem to enjoy themselves unless they're being rewarded. Would such people have ever survived in games before all this golden carrot stuff? When the reward for playing, was being able to play in the first place, and having such things to play.
Perhaps I'm just getting too old, but man, some people on Reddit sound so... spoiled. "Wah, I put in all this time, and I get NOTHING". What, playing the game wasn't fun?
WvW is already a loot and karma farm, dropping stupid amounts of chests if you're in a constant capture zerg, and you can level alts stupid fast with little effort. But the whining for "I wanted to be economically compensated for my time" just smacks of entitlement.
Perhaps they should stop playing.
EDIT: NA hasn't reset yet, so nobody on NA has their chests yet. There's the answer I was looking for. All the people who've gotten their chests are EU, which resets early.
