My shop didn't have any variant covers. Bummer. Saved $4 because my gf decided she wanted to be the one to get Spider-Gwen, though. She needs something new now that Hawkeye is ending.

Also worth pointing out the band "Married with Sea Monsters" made a song out of MaryJane's "Face It Tiger" from Spider-Gwen

Also if you're in the NC area on the 28th, there is a launch party for Spider-Gwen. Signing by both Latour and Rodriguez, and an after party featuring Married With Sea Monsters. At said party they'll also be selling this amazing vinyl (Art by Rodriguez)
Really thinking about taking the trip up there TBH just for the vinyl.

So where do I start for this? Should I read alll of Spider-Verse or just #2?
Unfortunately Silk won't be around this time next year.
Just read #2, then pick up her proper solo book. Spider-Verse can be summed up with "something something all Spider-people save reality from something something"
Nope.Alright but does she do anything in the other installments of Spider-Verse? I'm the type of person who drinks character development like it's water so I wouldn't want to miss some of that.

While I agree that every villain for Spider-Gwen shouldn't be another Doc-Ock, Symbiote, Lizard, Green Goblin, etc. I would still love to see their take on those villains. Like how they portrayed the Lizard was a nice twist on that villain and I would love another take on Green Goblin or a Symbiote that isn't necessarily the same as what has been done before.
But yeah, I agree. Throw some new villains in there we have never seen before with some new archetypes as well. If they throw in a 'new' character that is just a female hunter that is basically a mirror of Kraven I wouldn't be happy.
Let's all dick it up, guys.

If MJ came after Gwen, and Miles came after Peter, Gwen should date Miles.
Peter was 16...Miles is many years younger than her. Pretty sure that'd be heavily frowned upon.
How old was Ultimate Peter when he died? Miles was 14 at the time, right?
Neither will the Gwen series. But as loing as Spiderman doesn't go back to MJ I am good.
Peter was 16
Anyway, I digress. Is this a solid first issue? Everyone seems hooked up on the costume, but how is the story? Is it worth $4 or should I just wait until it hits Unlimited?

Ant-Man
Coil, I'll let her know. I take it it's good? Right now she buys Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Spider-Gwen, and will read my Rocket Raccoon. She prefers the funny stuff.Ant-Man.
We both read Squirrel Girl. I've been the one buying it. I wasn't planning on it, but I picked up the first issue for the Young variant and got hooked.Ant-Man and Squirrel Girl are both fantastic and better than Hawkeye in my opinion.

Pssh please the hood makes the whole thing worthwhile. That hood won't ever stop being a terrible design choice for an otherwise nice design.

The rest of the suit is slim and then bam. Doesn't fit and nor is it functional.Pssh please the hood makes the whole thing worthwhile.

Huh? The hood is pretty big part of the look. That hood won't ever stop being a terrible design choice for an otherwise nice design.
Spider-Gwen was great. Really excellent start.
Yes. If you love Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, and Spider-Gwen, you will love Ant-Man. Slots in nicely.
Looks like I'm reading Ant-Man now. Which run?

The functionality isn't really my complaint, just pointing out you can't use that to justify it.complain about costume functionality in comics bruhs.
Current series by Nick Spencer.
Read Superior Foes of Spider-Man if you haven't read it. Same writer and Ant-Man's first issue has a character from the book. It's excellent.
Current one that just started, there's only like one issue out right now. I would recommend checking out Superior Foes that ended recently, it's by the same writer.

It looks okay when she isn't wearing the mask but this
totally doesn't work.
