Naw. They did amazing. Laurie is the only one who could have improved a bit reasonably, but she also went first which is stressful.

Watching the non US/Russia/China athletes is funny. They look so bad when compared to the top 3.
They showed a tiny bit of balance beam earlier, and I doubt the girl performing could go top 20 in the US.

I would be pissed if I was Madison. Her one event and a lights out performance and NBC main event stream didn't even show it.

It's like NBC goes out of their way to make the streaming presentation poor. They aren't showing any scores for the gymnastics teams or individuals. They keep talking about how big a lead the US has but they won't show the score.

You have to go to the individual feeds. They are at the floor feed now
Could have been avoided if NBC had a PiP central hub that you can choose which feeds to watch, but they don't

Women have Rhythmic Gymnastics in the Olympics while men do not though. So it all equals out imo.

Yea, which means no more specialists. All members of the team will have to be great on all the events.
That sucks....but I guess it makes more sense.

Bull shit on decreasing team size to 4. Specialists are a good thing which allows a more diverse set of athletes (as far as body size/structure) to compete.

So Russian and Chinese women get the same medals as men, pretty cool.
But there will still be separate spots for specialists. Teams will be 4 All-Around gymnasts and each country can qualify up to 2 specialists. (so in theory the usa will be able to send 6 gymnasts, the 2 specialists just won't be in team finals.)

It is actually really hard to find a set of two gymnasts who happen to specialize in two different events.
More likely it will end up being 3 all arounders and 1 specialist in whatever the country is weak at.
