It's up on CR.

Great episode. They really didn't need to recycle Mad Dog's animation there though. Even if it they aren't as flashy as the 2 from the last episode, they got 2 or 3 decent new animations in this one to make up for it.

Next up is Yamaguchi's time to shine. I really hope he does it right this time, though I fear Karasuno will lose this set anyway.

Oikawa provided a great performance, when he had already seen steps ahead at what Kags and Hinata were going to do, perfect moment. His teasing of chibi chan and Kags is one of the best parts to Aobajosai matches.

Mad Dog chan is perfect, this game feels like one of the most authentic in sports since its not like anyone is perfect or anything but faults and mistakes keep happening even to the power players. Lesser players get good focus too like Kindaichi, and also Makki

Another fantastic episode. The Aoba team are so switched on, Oikawa especially, they really know how to get into the head of the opponent and force them into making mistakes. Even though the anime has weird ass quick attacks and whatnot which probably wouldn't be possible in real life (I don't watch volleyball so idk) the psychological aspect of it is spot on.

Karasuno better win though. Yama pls don't let the team down once again.

The anime is actually pretty close to the manga, looking at the pace. It might take a little longer for season 3 to come around.

I am not going to post anything from the manga that hasn't been animated yet so you guys are safe :p

The best match I am talking about is the longest one currently in the series.

I started watching season 2. This show captured the feel of the manga so well. I can't comment any further since I am on episode 4 but I hope the next couple of matches are insane like the manga

A third season has yet to be confirmed by my knowledge. The anime is now REALLY close to the manga, so I'd guess the best you could hope for is a 13 episode season 3 around 18 months after this one ends. Honestly, that's probably being generous.
18 months? Damn. I'm already impatient waiting for the incoming "Yamaguchi, don't mind don't mind" on Saturday. I might as well starting reading the manga once this season ends. If I want to pick up reading from the current match what volume/chapter would that be?

The last episode ended at the start of chapter 136, this match will end at chapter 147.

Is the manga going to end any time soon, or will there be 200 episodes of anime in a few years when all is said and done?

It's definitely not going to end soon, there's still a lot to get through. It's at just under 200 chapters at the moment. To put that into perspective, last season's Seijo match was around 20 chapters long (which were adapted in 5 episodes).

Damn Shonen pieces. Never know ho long to tell a meaningful story.

Nekoma vs Fukurodani? :P

Hyperbole much? They can just wait another year like the last time and have almost 100 chapters again and let the pace go down a bit more. Shounen Jump does this with some series right now and it's a fresh breath of air to not have fillers or bad quality.

Edit: Also match ends at 148

The average trend for sports manga is that matches gradually increase in length. Judging from the last two matches, things are about to slow down considerably.

Eh? Still won't change anything with the pacing. It was the same for Kuroko no Basket or anything else that had a season every year (except for Major e.g. where the pacing was fucking incredible because they had such a nice head start)

How many chapters are we up to at present with the anime. Might just read the manga

Haikyu has a mangaka who doesn't take breaks outside of the holidays. So a season per year seems like a good pace.

Eye shield 21 had a shit ton of episodes and that was only 3/4 at best of the manga with a lot of other stuff missing. So the sky is the limit

There's still good stuff coming this season, so I'd at least wait for this season to end if you're planning on reading the manga.

Might be harder to go back and read the manga after watching the second season. Anime seems pretty 1:1 on detail so far

Ennoshita and Suga holding Hinata and Nishinoya back combined with both of them covering their ears when both boys would yell was hilarious.

Good episodes for my MVPs of Seijoh and Karasuno for Kindaichi and Tsukishima both put points on the board. Tsukishima always gets so expressive these days especially when he cant get a hit through a block. He and Hinata are still best Karasunos.

Yams would be a bit better if he wasn't always being blown back when receives come. I don't think anyone else on Karasuno has that happen to them.

I genuinely wasn't expecting that from Yamaguchi. Everyone cheering as he nailed the serve was a great moment and I also loved Tsuki putting in that work to keep him serving. He acts like he doesn't care but he definitely upped his game when Yamaguchi entered the court (pitch?). Plus that smirk.

Overall it was another really good episode. I still have no idea which way this match is going to go. When they levelled in the set I thought the stage was set for a Hinata quick to kill it off, but instead Seijoh took the set. It really could go either way although it'd suck if Karasuno were to lose again.

I was waiting for this! Yamaguchi finally nailing the jump float was nice, but it's Daichi's monologue about how Seijoh have become their rivals over the past year that got me hype in the manga. Reflecting on how their past two matches went down to the wire adds a good level of weight to the third set. No matter who wins, a score is being settled.

Yamaguchi came through, yesssssss

that bit at the end where they were acknowledging each other as rivals was great

all caught up on the current episodes, I actually forgot they played Wakutani .

Tadashi Yamaguchi- will become clutch in the future, but I can definitely relate to his serve because I know how risky a jump float serve can be, especially in doors where the wind can't help you if you mess up.

11/10

Hype was real in this episode, damn. I honestly thought for a second that they would take this 2-0, even if the match point rally went past 30. The best moments reel near the end was so good.
