Great episode.
I like how it wasnt all sunshine and rainbows for Enoshita just cause he got to play once.

It was also hilarious seeing Ukai picking up a whole bench when in the manga he only picked up Takes chair.

Question: When Ennoshita calls for his defensive tactic for Takeru's wipe attack where Tanaka and Azumane focus on the straights - who responds to him? Because when he replays the scene in his mind it definitely sounds like
Daichi. WTF???

That last point was great, looking forward to next episode to finally see the new Date Tech and Seijoh.

Yes, dis gunb gud. I wonder how Seijoh deal with the Iron Wall

Really liked how the show brought such a minor character to the front and actually made me care about the guy.

Though in the last episode I thought it was a little weird how everyone was like "Well obviously he's gonna be the next captain." Considering we barely knew anything about him at that point, it seemed sort of sudden and not entirely planned for.

Sounded like Asahi
We all know Date is gonna job hard.

0% chance they win but the match should be fun to watch either way, I just hope they don't get demolished.

It was amusing how the show put in a sequence of flashbacks to prior scenes in the anime as if to say, "See guys? He's actually been here all along! Honest!" But then it's consistent with how Daichi has been treated, in that Haikyuu has been saying that what makes a good captain is someone who stays in the background and acts as a strong anchor for the rest of the team, rather than a flashy superstar.

Well Koganegawa and Futakuchi were exciting to see animated. Whole match felt like it was just there to build excitement for a Haikyuu yr 2 and an eventual rematch of karasuno and date kou.

Haikyu 19

Match was short but great. But yeah, they're really setting up all those teams for the next year. Which probably means Karasuno will lose at some point in the competition. I hope they at least manage to win against Aoba Johsai this time. This game will probably last until the end of the season.

I hope not. They've been priming this Ushiwaka matchup the entire season and the Nekoma matchup for 2 seasons. If they lose to him he graduates.

5 more episodes. . .

The outcome was expected but I'm really glad they introduced some new characters from Date. Seems like they have long plans for this manga and we'll definitely see them again.

They have to win vs Seijoh, you can't have the team lose against the same team 2 seasons in a row, that's not interesting to watch. I do hope that they lose the final though, I don't think it's realistic for them to win that one just yet.

I feel like the show is gearing up for the third season to be the one in which every team is at their best, you can already tell that Karasuno's third year's aren't getting much attention anymore in practice and get a spot in the spotlight during some of these games as a sendoff, I'm sure Asahi and reserve setter guy will get an episode dedicated to them too.

You guys are making it too tempting to post spoilers from the manga, like when Kiyoko reveals that she's in love with Nishinoya and Tanaka kills him in frustration.

Or how Hinata reveals that he actually dyes his hair orange and the chemicals in the dye are why he's always all before matches and even why he's so short.

Tbh I think Karasuno will be a better team without the current 3rd years. Daichi's going to be a big miss because he's solid defensively and is genuinely a great captain (perfect characterisation of a great captain IMO) but the rest are eh. Asahi is too meek and doesn't really impact games enough and the other dude isn't even a starter. I reckon they'll beat Aoba (sp?) and then lose the final, but next year they'll smash it.

I really wanted to be into this show, but holy fuck.... I want to watch cool Volleyball and tactics.

Yet for every 3 seconds of actual gameplay there's some 10 minute soliloquy from like each different character. Yes, I know you feel inferior to Kageyama but that you still desire to play. Please... stop taking up screen time to talk about it for the 100th time with dramatic music.

Yeah they need some new first year or some second year to step up to the plate to be a Daichi. Suga's just a second setter so someone could easily have his role, Asahi just has height and some defense.

If they get in someone mentally stronger and more skilled than Asahi then they'll definitely fly next season.

I'd love to see Karasuno try to psyche out the opponent more, I mean it's not really their game since they're all so nice, but I loved the play last season where Oikawa deliberately aimed his serve at Nishinoya (it was a genius move, even if it didn't work due to Nishinoya being a boss). The only one who sort of did it back to them was Kageyama with his no look pass and the dumps, but the others played their normal game. I'd mark out if Hinata or someone deliberately aimed a spike at Oikawa or Aoba's receiver in the upcoming game. I'm so impatient I might just end up reading the manga to see what happens lol.

She's already been replaced.

Episode 19

This was a pretty good episode to warm up the big match. It's obvious Date would lose, but the way the episode was set up made it interesting even with the outcome being obvious. They managed to introduce a new first year student on the team, show off fun potential techniques they were practicing, and basically show that there's a real sense of progression for every team, not just the ones which matter most - people continue to join the team as the years roll by and everyone is always pushing themselves to improve and refine strategies.

The scene at the end with then dealing with nerves in different ways is great too. The conversation between Kageyama and Hinata really shows how much they have both grown as people as as players.

I hope they next match isn't going to take 5 episodes again though... lol.

Ep 20

Music was fantastic in this episode, got me hyped even before the match began. Match itself was great, even if a bit predictable. The artstyle in Oikawa's last serve and new guy's spike was pretty neat.

I remember Kageyama's jump serve being hyped in the first few episodes of the first season, but it seems like his serve is guaranteed points for the other team.

That serve was nuts! I'm going to be sad when the anime ends, is a 3rd season confirmed or should I pray silently every night? I never even thought I'd see a season 2 tbh.

I like how the kids are making the stupidest bets. Like the Nekoma mohawk guy betting a yakisoba bread if Karasuno had a grill manager and now the ramen orders

Episode 20

Fucking amazing. I hope every episode of this match is going to be like this because we're going to have to sit through a whole month of this match! :P

I loved the unforced errors. I loved the team strategy on both sides. I loved the new animation set pieces. Oikawa's super serve was great, but Mad Dog's dash attack took me by surprise. So much great stuff. It was just so energetic. Mmmmm. The Mad Dog track at the end was awesome too.
