I've loved all the previous MS HALO reveal trailers (even the Halo Wars one!) but the HALO 4 reveal was really bland.

It didn't really set anything anything up. We're told it's a new trilogy but from what little we saw there was almost no justification for it beyond the obvious business decision.

Where is the premise? Where is the tease? Nothing. Not feeling it at all.

It was pretty much the same as the Reach announcement; short teaser two years before relase and ramp up the marketing closer to release.

Doing full length trailers two years before release isn't really MS's thing any more

It would, but you would be insane to assume a 1 year cycle for Halo anyways, since the initial strategy was to do Halo and Gears every other year. And this points towards such.

They could still launch a new Xbox and put Halo 5&6 on the new system with it's new technology, while still supporting 360, 360 won't be like original Xbox they stop supporting that system rather quickly, they have have to support 360 for at least 5 years after the launch of new xbox

But if it was me I would have let Halo sit for a few years, then announce it as a launch game for the next xbox and build up the hype to super high levels. Having yearly Halo games is kind of removing the "omg I NEED to play thing" feeling I got waiting for Halo 2 and 3.
