You can see the smoke trail as it goes from direct sunlight to cover behind building.

The smoke is lit by the sun which gives it a yellow glow, but as it goes into shade it isnt lit by sun insyead takes lighting condition from the area behind shade.

Not hard to see if you know how the rendering works.

Ok, I can see what you're talking about with the sunlight, I thought you were talking about the blue light from the building.

Also, can you explain to us how the rendering works on a technical level?

I'm getting the game at the midnight launch and I have the 6th and 7th off coincidentally, so I'm free those two days as well. When are you getting the game? I originally planned to play it SP but I know you're not going to be an ass and ruin the game if we play so I'm down to co-op.

Also yeah, I see you post sometimes and do the same lol

It's coming out on the 6th. If you don't want to do the midnight launch, I can just try out some MP that night or just wait until the next day anyways.

Here's what the CE version includes (copied from GS):

Honestly I still think it's pretty lame that they excluded a feature that could've easily be done by the use of buttons from people who don't have a 150 dollar Eyetoy.

Damn...had the CE in my amazon wishlist for a while now...sold out there, best buy and Gamestop...just ordered it from target with release day shipping...so hopefully I'll get it on the 6th.

Yeah, I can see the issue there.

I was referring to people who are complaining about optional Kinect features in general in games though. I've seen people refer games with Kinect features as "Kinect games" even though they have no actual negative effect on games in question.

Said it in HaloGAF too, but congrats 343. This is a huge step for both them and the series. Needless to say, I can't wait :)
 
Little over 5 weeks, didn't Halo 3 go gold 4 weeks before launch? Semantics I'm sure, hope it's because they're planning to sell a lot more copies though!

Can't wait, day one.
 
I was never really into halo or playing fps's with a pad but you know what? I might very well get this one. Looks pretty sweet.
 
I don't think the story is THAT important in Halo (but I never finished any of the games), but I hope they put a story recap or something for newcomers. If the game is great, I think I'll start the series with this one.
I don't have time to play the previous entries (and Halo 2 is only available on GoD).

It is very important, and you won't have a full idea of what's up going into this not only if you haven't played the games, but also if you haven't read the books.
 
Che is part of 343 now? no more Turn 10?

Anywho got my halo 4 limited edition pre-ordered at my local Bestbuy which includes a Free Poster, $20 rewards certifcate and Exclusive Customizable Raptor Armor Skin and Deadeye Helmet. Going to attend the midnight release since Bestbuy always give away free swag!

Don't worry, while they are bringing in A LOT of extended fiction they are going to explain it all to new comers. Also the story is very very important :)

343 is emphasizing plot much more than Bungie ever did. They've talked a lot about telling a more personal, involved story and they've also said there will be a nice recap to start since not only are they expecting people to start with this game, it's just been a pretty long time since Halo 3 came out, haha.

I've only played Reach, but I'm going all in on Halo 4. Haven't been this excited in months :)

I think there's going to be a recap of the story so far at the beginning of the campaign, so If someone really doesn't want to play 1-3, I'd say a Wikipedia summary should be more-or-less fine for getting the gist of what's happened. As for the books, there's a bunch of important stuff there, but reading them, while beneficial, will definitely not be essential to understanding the story. The books all feed into the main story in the games but they're more supplementary than required reading.

We all know this means someone eill get their hands on it early and will be able to give us the hands down on some things.
Such as Vehicles, Weapons, etc.

I'm surprised just how mum MS has been on everything aside from MP really.

I just switched my pre-order over to Gamestop for the midnight release. I was going to go with another store that opens at 7am, but I knew I was kidding myself if I thought I could wait seven extra hours.
