So, while getting an Xbox wouldn't be a horrible idea, I just know that once the Halo 4 craze dies down, I may end up regretting it. I realize that I would be able to get a Wii U in a few months, but IMO there's nothing like a new Nintendo console launch.

I am undecided, but I have until Monday to make the call.

Now I have to decide between wiiu or halo 4! I just wish they had confirmed GTA5 for wiiu then I'd be set.

I think the first thing I need to take into consideration is that I'm talking about this in the Halo 4 OT, with a bunch of people who love Halo and perhaps don't really care about the Wii U.

Or, I'm playing mental gymnastics, specifically in the Halo 4 OT in some pathetic attempt to get biased fans to convince me to drop the Wii U.

If I was in your boat, I would probably choose the Wii U. By the time January hits the honeymoon phase might be over and you'd be ready for some Halo 4.

But since I'm not in your boat, I say ditch the Wii U because Halo 4 is out sucka. :p

It depends, for me i stay a lot more involved when theres a good MP component to the game (and Halo is one of the best) and so for me that decision is pretty easy: SP only games always come second.

Can't afford both atm, but could afford a Wii U in mid-January. I realize the Xbox is probably the better idea, but man it's a brand new Nintendo console and a new Mario game. Ugh. Or I could look at it like, I would be getting a special edition Xbox console and treat it like a collector's item (despite the fact that I would be playing it) to justify the decision over the Wii U. I can get a Wii U in a couple of months, but perhaps the Halobox won't always be readily available.

Delicious mental gymnastics.

If you "have" to get Nintendo stuff, then its a simple choice. If you want to wait on till January to see if all the hype is worth it plus some more games being out, then get you some Halo 4!

Agreed. I doubt it will actually take them 'till the 13th, they usually are faster than their ship dates by a good margin. That said I prolly won't have until the weekend to play anyhow, so it's not a huge loss either way.

It does follow on from it and features characters from Cryptum, but they don't feel that closely linked. It's basically what one of the characters did next.

I say get a Wii-U. On top of your pro/con list it's also a new system launch. Nothing really compares to being there for a new system launch, surrounded by the excitement of it all.

You can get a 360 and halo anytime you like, but who knows if the Wii-U will be available even 5 months down the line.

Thanks for that. One of the best capture's I've seen quality (and gameplay wise).
Loved that as David walked to the edge of the roof at 6:45 I could hear the guy behind him and thought "Uh oh, someone's going to get assassinated, tut tut".

Even at gamestop, they give a shit about the release date lol.

Also almost bought the Halo 4 branded Warheads 7.1

No no. I can't afford it.

Had to sell stuff to pay for the Halo 4 console
Wii U was from birthday money and the LE is all IM paying for.

My spending on games has cut back by around 90% since my kid was born and I moved out last June.

It's basically all been about Wii U and Halo 4.

PS Plus has filled the gap for "new games".

I spoke to Xbox Support (UK), and they told me that were my console (or account) banned, I would need to post about this on the support forum. If I do get banned, I will PM you in the hope you can get me unbanned, because I do not want to have to deal with a forum support service for this

The lag I'm seeing in most of these streams is concerning. It's not really indicative either way since the player population online is very small right now, but playing any of the previous games with anyone outside of the US was a shitshow a lot of the time so I'm worried what it's going to be like at launch.

Machinima talking shit about metacritic and the IGN 9.8 score and what is the .2 difference lol.

So with no health in Halo 4 I have a question about Swat. Will headshots be the only thing that can kill players or will you be able to hit someone enough times in the body?

Spawns on FFA SWAT on Abandon look pretty bad :/

Look. I'm a massive MASSIVE Halo fan.

But new consoles launches are so fucking hard to resist. If you're just, a "fan" of Halo, then go Wii U to be honest.

Looking forward to seeing what Nintendoland offers.

But yeah, paying $50AU for a year of PSPlus was great and my wife is rapt because I keep getting "new games" every month and have only paid $50 for them all.

Watching the Grifball gameplay makes me kinad sad. The UI elements are really confusing. It seems to be team coloured, so when Blue Team has the ball and you're on Red Team, you get a blue waypoint that says kill. When a Red Team ally has the ball there is red waypoint telling you to escort. That's not good.
