I actually really prefer that it's linked to team color. Even after playing hundreds of hours in Halo 3 and Reach, I found myself getting confused sometimes.

I know you said that playing with a legit copy of the disc is fine Frankie, but does that imply that you'll get banned, and if you provide proof, which the buddy of mine will be able to since me and him are getting the game from the website we ordered from tomorrow, will be un-banned?

I'll be flying in about eight hours (and will be missing from gaming for two weeks myself) so I won't be online when he gets his copy and starts to play, but I'd rather ask you and save him the trouble of being banned even if he'll get un-banned.

But how does that translate to Green Team versus Yellow Team? Blue is good and red is bad is a well established affordance at this point.

Edit: It also says Betrayal both when you betray someone and someone betrays you. Splitscreen users like myself will occasionally hear Steitzer repeat himself in a row I guess.

I assume a green flag carrier will have a green waypoint, yellow for yellow, pink for pink, etc. It will require adjustment (Glasslands reference!) for those who are used to the old system, but I don't think it's inherently counter-intuitive. I think it's more intuitive, actually.

oddball looks fun from that video but lighting on your weapon seems a bit off, like there's light sources from all directions so its always illuminated. wierd. at the same time, the environment casts strong shadows. hmmm.

really? so it's no longer 'betrayal' when you do it and 'betrayed' when you're on the receiving end? that's ridiculous.

Is the Locus Helmet exclusive? Does anyone know, it is part of the Mountain Dew King of the Hill game and I haven't seen any info on it really? Why would you need a code for it if it was in the retail game? I know it is a pre-order in the UK but nothing I have seen for the US except this game.

Yes, in the US it's only available via the 7-11 thing. Prior to that being announced we didn't even know we were getting it, and I think that there's still a couple random skins/emblems tied up with pre-orders not available at any US stores. The whole thing is a clusterfuck.

they sound great, especially 20 + shipping great! i'm just thrilled i can play AND hear the game now - since my only gaming time is when kids and wife go to sleep. also, hoping the mic is better than the standard MS mic which always gave me issues.

so stoked. cant wait to run over everyone with the super powered needler :D

Don't wanna turn up to the store after work and having some clerk tell me a Microsoft rang up to deny me my Haloz.

I don't agree. Blue being good and red being bad is far from being a gaming thing. Red indicates danger or warning and blue is a safer and more calming colour.

The added advantage is that it allows for any matching of team colours. If you know red is bad (such as the colour of the enemy's Gamertag) then it does not matter what colour the other team is... ever.

I don't think it's good design practice.

havent even watched the vid, but the more i think about the positives and negatives associated with removing friendly fire, the more i'm ok with it. friendly fire was only really an issue when you had idiots on your team that would throw grenades at your feet to try and kill an enemy or douche bags that used betrayals or shots to steal weapons or grief. both of which were huge negatives to my enjoyment of the game. sure, skilled and courteous players had to be careful with their attacks, and thats out the window so gameplay strategies will need adjusting, but the fun factor (at least for me) will only increase with this change.

EDIT: after watching, new oddball looks really really good - as does forge. slurp.

its so weird. i played Halo 4 till 1am. went to bed. had a nightmare about Halo. got up, ate a sandwich at 4am. now im gonna play again (weekend for us). Had the Halo music in the nightmare and everything.

this is total immersion video gaming.

Time to jump back in. Hope the neighbours dont mind 5.1 at this hour.

I disagree, because I play with friends and wouldn't have that issue.
The lack of FF makes all your play a lot more halfhazard, you see the player tossing grenades towards the ball, even though his team mate is right on top of it.

So not for what I look for in Halo.
