with CE/H2 kill times, these would be offensive (and badass) spartan-like abilities that empower the player without giving them things to hide behind or run away with.

I think sprint is here to stay. The most we can hope for is it having a drawback/negative when used. Like maybe no shield regen or something.

I'd love for it to be removed completely though and I hope they do. We need to keep complaining about it....

In the Halo 5: Guardians trailer, the spartans do the exact same thing:

They overexaggerate their swinging as they run. So it seems that trailer is more somewhat representative of the gameplay, despite being CG.

This thread reminds me of years ago, when I was at some random convention, and the entire gaming room was turned off since everyone was focused on the Halo 2 tourney going on. A friend of mine and I walked in, we had zero interest in the tourney. She goes to turn on a TV on the other side of the room to play some sort of bemani game.

Dudes immediately start screaming at her, just an entire pack of wild nerds offended someone would "interrupt" their precious srs bsns tournament. (For the record, I have never seen a convention do something like this since.)

Anyway, moral of the story is that man, people are particular about the hows and whats of their Halo. It's a passionate fanbase and I can appreciate that somewhat, but I do not envy 343's position.

Sounds awesome! Double jump seems much better than a full fledged jetpack and I've liked the idea of a first-person thruster pack ever since Reach's Elites. Bring it on!
