So it really is cosmetic, no "it will change the entire dynamic of the way halo is played"?
It seems to grant automatic weapons some much needed viability at mid-range, which is a good thing.

The visible scopes on the BR and especially the DMR, come off as more than a bit obstructive to some though. But, it's not as game-breaking as many feared.

Well that is good to know. Does the game feel like a natural progression Halo, or just a different interpretation?

Purely cosmetic for precision weapons and it functions just like scopes from past Halo games, and for automatics it's a welcome addition that makes them a bit more useable past close-range.

I don't think it has hurt the game at all and has in fact added to it.

So a lotta fuss about nothing. Who'd have thought.

Anyone know how the KDA Spread metric is calculated? Appears to be something to do with kills, Deaths, and assists.

The skull with a number below it can go negative.

I've tried different combinations of my kda numbers and unable to figure it out.

anyone else having trouble with matchmaking? haven't been able to get into a match at all tonight.

why does everyone seem to have such an awful KDA spread? I know I'm not an all-star sitting at 8.4, but most people are close to 0 or negative that I've seen.

I thought crouch jumping would be impossible because of Ground pound, but someone mentioned that you can still do it. I asked how, but didn't get an answer.

So, is crouch jumping still in the game or not?

If you need that extra inch you clamber now

Can't believe that you still can't move while viewing the scoreboard

Wait I have to use both codes for early access?
You can read a response here. But you can’t read the message that included the 2 codes?
I am so confused.

I could have sworn Titanfall made use of the temp servers, is that not the case.

Yes TitanFall did/does have Azure servers....but they were pushed forward specifically for that game.
And i guess that made people think all the Aussie Azure servers were up.....so far only TitanFalls have been up.

Glad the rest are opening up so more games get local hosting instead of being sent to Asia and whatnot.

The post game celebrations need to go......seriously, regardless of the mythos arent the spartans the highest level on the human front, shouldnt they by now be more disciplined?

So you can't crouch jump then? That's awful.

Sacrificing crouch jump to include Ground pound is a terrible design decision. Goodbye skill-jumps. And no, Clamber is not a good substitute. First, you can't use clamber in all directions; second, the margin of error to perform it is way too big; and third, you are forced to lower your weapon during the clamber animation.

Sorry but no. Clamber needs to go, it is just a crutch for bad players who can't make jumps. If a player misses a jump they should fall, end of story. Also remove Ground pound and bring back crouch jumping. One of the best things about Halo is learning the skill jumps and doing them during battles.

Crouch jumping is confirmed to be in the final game, just not in the beta.
How? Unless they are already planning on removing Ground pound, I don't see how that's possible.

Who paid you to grab Dr. Pavel?
Please take out the kill cams or make them optional. Much rather have the view of my teammates/the guy who killed me. Hitting X takes a bit and is stuttery.

I think it was Frankie that said Crouch Jump will be in the final, I don't remember exactly. I literally meant NOW you use clamber - as in today.

Honestly, ground pound just feels so out of place and pointless. Not even sure why it's in the game.

It's awesome if you can pull it off...very satisfying. But they definitely need to bump up the damage. I fully charged it and dropped on someone directly and they survived.

It should be a one hit kill like an assassination.

It is, but you have to hit them directly. The AOE is not a1sk, nor should it be. Frankly, it's a little too large and high-damage as it is.

Nothing spectacular, I put a multi clip together in Upload Studio.

Take a look:http://youtu.be/fX76x9omb4g

Well done - there was some nice stuff in there.

I've watched quite a bit of footage now, and the game is looking questionable.

Stuff I like:
- 60 FPS
- Nice sound effects
- Movement looks fast and smooth

Stuff I'm undecided on:
- Automatic call outs, they sound weird. I assume you can turn them off if you're in a team?
- Graphics. Meh, they have a while left but at this stage I'd be surprised if they improved significantly

Stuff I dislike
- ADS elements. However it is spun/implemented - it is unnecessary and out of place in a Halo game.
- Blue and Red logos. Looks amateur at best.
- Spartan Bro's at the win screen. I'd love to hear the rationale behind that. It looks ridiculous and only serves to cater to the Dudebro crowd.
- Sprint. I like Sprint in theory, but in Halo games it tends to change the outcome of battle. Doesn't look to have changed.
- Announcer also sounds rubbish. I'd take the awful Destiny announcer over this shit.

I almost bought an Xbox One & MCC today, so that I could jump in on the beta over my Xmas break - but all of the footage has been underwhelming, kind of killing any hype I had left for Halo 5.

Just gonna comment on the Bolded stuff.

The Beta is as a gameplay beta should be, its more about the mechanics, balancing and probably network load testing than about how the game looks.
In beta form it doesnt look better than Halo 4, they obviously have a build thats leaps and bounds beyond this already running, they just didnt want that to be a focus, not sure why people even bother mentioning graphics when this isnt a demo....its a true beta test.

The weapon link(ADS) is actually not as bad as you seem to think it is.
I initially was very skeptical as well, but having played with it, i really like it actually.
Trust me it doesnt change the mechanics too much.

At the 50 second mark I throw a couple of grenades

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZdzCYcVtqo

Is that bad by your standards? 'cause it seems fine for me. I'm here in Tasmania. I've had maybe two bad games out of like 20
The delay in throw animation and grenade leaving the hand is almost non-existent in your video.

This is not my video but I am seeing lag similar to this or worse: http://xboxclips.com/Spagman/84af54fb-cdd1-4923-b9dc-f05916ee6a47 (see also the SMG hitmarker delay at the very beginning of the video)

Of course, it's why I'm undecided. The graphics will likely improve, but I'm just not sure by how much. Plus, my disappointment stems more from the looks of some of the weapons (including the Prophet's Bane) which is more than likely going to stay very similar.

The ADS is absolutely as bad as I think it is. I've watched several streams and various videos, and it is still looking awful. It may not change the overall mechanics too much, but it's disappointing to see so many people scoping with an AR or SMG for bonus accuracy.

Seems like time time between kills between the first couple was WAY to long to continue a multi-kill. Did they change this drastically for Halo 5 or something?

Also this - I forgot to mention it in my earlier post. A few of the multi kill videos I've seen have been 'generous' to put it lightly. Has this been changed or possibly just lag issues?

Well, not to be rude, but you can't come to all those conclusions by watching a yt vídeo. Also, most if your negatives are very nitpicky.

Give it a shot, man.

My understanding is that the Titanfall servers were put in place by a joint effort between EA, Respawn and Microsoft but were not actually running on Azure. I don't think the recent announcement of Azure XBL servers even mentions Titanfall as using them even now that they are up.

What's the largest party size you can create in the beta? If there are eight Aussies in this thread and if we can all join a party and then jump in to a game I'd like to try that.

I don't own an XB1 to try it. So the alternative is to watch videos. My friend will bring the console & game over when the beta opens up next week.

I don't think anything I said was nit picky. Just concerned about 343s changes, particularly after Halo 4.

Your other option is to read impressions from people who've played it, like many in this thread...

...just sayin'.
