Dudebro screen at the end of the game is just pointless, take that shit out. From what I've seen sprint is pretty useless getting away and watching these people play has only made me want to play. I actually think Halo 5 is looking pretty good.

Just for the hell of it, I'm going to go against the grain and say I like the "dudebro" screen. They're celebrating, they're exuberant. Doesn't make them juvenile. Do you guys think real soldiers are all serious, all the time, even during war games?

Of course, it's why I'm undecided. The graphics will likely improve, but I'm just not sure by how much. Plus, my disappointment stems more from the looks of some of the weapons (including the Prophet's Bane) which is more than likely going to stay very similar.

The ADS is absolutely as bad as I think it is. I've watched several streams and various videos, and it is still looking awful. It may not change the overall mechanics too much, but it's disappointing to see so many people scoping with an AR or SMG for bonus accuracy.

Regarding the ADS, it's really not bad at all. It works really well here and it's optional. No real advantage that I've found when using it. In fact, most chaotic scenarios I find myself doing better not using it.

I highly recommend trying it out.

The changes in this game work very well.

Well, not to be rude, but you can't come to all those conclusions by watching a yt vídeo. Also, most if your negatives are very nitpicky.

Give it a shot, man.

This is the world today, sadly. Think of sunset overdrive. People make decisions on YouTube videos and forget the most important part of video games. What does it "feel" like to play. I have been guilty of it in the past. We all judge off videos because it's all we have. It's one of the bi products of losing demo's I think. Your post is right. Imo. Give it a go :D

Graphics:
Likely improve?
When i say the Beta looks worse graphically than Halo 4 i mean ive got Halo 4 and the beta running side by side.....they clearly arent running game level assets.
Not liking the look of things, well.....thats your opinion, but there will be a huge change in the graphical fidelity, no questions there....the Beta is 720p and even if it was 1080p it would look like shit.

Weapon-Link:
When you say it absolutely is as bad as you think, do you mean you have felt the difference and dont want to use it, or that you are angry that people will be using it....noting that getting any damage will de-link you from the weapon?
So far ive very rarely been killed by someone who was in weapon-link......only when i get hit from the side/back as in a never even saw it coming to i see kill cams with weapon link.

What's the largest party size you can create in the beta? If there are eight Aussies in this thread and if we can all join a party and then jump in to a game I'd like to try that.

Hmm this is an interesting preposition.....i actually dont know the largest party size.
But i would be more than willing to get an All Aussie Eight if we can.

Im currently going through GTA V and Beta on an off, but if any aus/nz players want to get a party going for test purposes im down.

I just got an "excuse us" and is rebooting?
Ah just a general mming failure. Working now.

And not.
Can't find players. Can't back out.

Finally. 😁

Having played Halo since CE and multiplayer Halo since 2 on live the ADS is absolutely terrible. It obscures part of the screen and has a delay in coming up. It completely breaks the aiming skill I have developed over the past decade playing the game. If you are used to Halo's scopes you will have a hard time adjusting to it.

I'll add you a bit later. Other Aussies post their gamertags (this is on-topic as this is checking max party size and testing local connections):

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment

You are right that it is a training simulator so it wouldn't be out of the question for the Spartans who won the fight to celebrate in some fashion; however, I do think if 343 goes this route, then there should definitely be options regarding how the player celebrates. It would even be cool if there were clan/group celebration animations that would work well with each other when fellow clan/group members are together in a party (they would essentially interact in the victory screen) but that may be putting a bit too much effort.

Regardless, I think everything that can be customized without affecting gameplay in anyway should be customized, including color of starting guns even (not size or shape because that would have a gameplay changing effect).

I've had no problem adjusting, weird.

The delay is what gets me. It seems there is an extra frame or two for the animation to take place that throws me off.

I'd love to see more customization get added; definitely the best of all possible worlds.

Last night when I didn't know what was going on I dominated. S couple matches tonight were the opposite. Damn.

Ranking system is kind of all over the place ATM. I think it's currently got a habit of overcorrecting, so if you do well a few games in a row it matches you with much tougher opponents, even if you weren't really ready for them.

I like having the ability to ADS but I rarely use it because it doesnt give me any advantage. I think it actually is a disadvantage because I seem to lose far more 1 v 1 firefights using ADS. With that said I am really enjoying the beta and cannot wait to see the other content coming. Feb to Nov is going to take forever.

I know this isn't useful to you now but if you can't get 8 with this pre beta then we can try when the actual beta hits because i assume more people from aus (like myself) will be playing.

The only adjustment I struggled with was using the battle rifle or DMR and hitting the right stick trying to zoom in instead of pulling the left trigger.

Out of curiousity did you find using ADS with any of the weapons gave you advantage. So far I haven't find any advantage and like I said above, in a lot of situations I felt it was harder using ADS pytting me at a pretty significant disadvantage.

I've had an easier time killing players without using ADS.

The DMR/SMG are the only weapons I use ADS with regularly. The pistol ADS is pretty terrible with the recoil.

Sometimes there's an upside; you can use the AR ads to ping distant enemies, maybe even kill them if you get the drop on them. The SMG is only effective outside at all outside of close range while in ADS. For the rest, though, it's not too useful. The Prophet's Bane actually has an interesting tradeoff, in that it extends the lunge range but removes the motion tracker and ability to sprint. On the whole, it's an interesting mechanical addition without really breaking the existing gameplay.

I can't use Ads on the DMR. It's so jarring and makes my aim worse for some reason. BR ads is fine but i think the br in general is too weak. Real easy for people to avoid that last burst.

I spam the AR ads bc its easy to get a kill with. lol

Weirdly I have never played such skilled halo players in my life....getting killed out there. Great game though. Less range and power on ar and more power on pistol and its golden.

Yeah, ADS really is awful.

Halo was the last console shooter that still used classic scopes instead of that ADS filth, but of course 343 had to make it more like every other shooter in the already way too homogenized console FPS genre.

ADS is my most hated mechanic in modern gaming, and seeing it in Halo feels like a kick in the balls. Unless they include classic scopes in the final game I won't even bother, honestly.

Pure Onyx man.

I don't like it much either - but I rarely use scopes in Halo anyway. Just shoot from the hip. The reticle is in the center of your screen already.

ADS on the pistol is annoying with the reticle going up and down, definitely not just a visual difference from classic zoom.

Anybody else find the sniper incredibly hard to use with the new system? I'm terrible with it

I'm terrible with it as well, but then, I've always been a terrible sniper :p

Seriously though, most people I've talked to about it think it's a bit too easy to use, if anything. Might just be bit of an adjustment.
