Snip3down is doing challenges for subs xD

Lets see if I am gonna become a sub, he's gotta drop a perfection. He's on a smurf so it shouldn't be too tricky.

I just finished a Firefight Live Stream playing with my subscribers on my Youtube channel, I had a blast it was amazing this game mode is FUN thank you for the addition 343!

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
played 1 round of firefight, it was fun but not as much as I hoped for. I was basically running from one corner to another in a map, didn't get the same feel as ODST or Reach firefight.

I hope there are special firefight maps and not the same warzone maps.

So plasma pistol charge shot disables friendly vehicles in Firefight.
Bug or does it work like that in warzone?
I had a "teammate" spam plasma charge me until he run out of ammo.........

I was never big on firefight I guess, this is a bit of fun but I'll be sticking to other modes.

As others have said it's a bit easy, had no dramas in the two games I played with randoms.

This is my main issue with it atm, the running from A to B part. Feels like, even with the random objectives it'll get repetitive quick.

Does the defend the garage always happen on round 3? Is there no other round 3 option, because it isn't fun at all.

Nah, I've had a few games that didn't include it. It really is the worst round, too. It wouldn't e as brutal if it didn't start with the enemies already spawning inside the base. That just guarantees you'll die pretty quickly, spawn far away, and get killed wither by a Knight inside the base or by the Phaeton that prevents you from being safe o the rooftop. I don't think there's a problem at all of people not knowing they need to defend the building, I think it's just too hard to get any kind of foothold in there once you've started losing ground so everyone gets stuck dying outside.

The first two were gimmies..but the third.. i had to earn that reversal. Oh yeah, i felt so goooood after.

Moments like these make me fall in love with halo mp all over again. Felt good this whole game out pistoling brs and other peeps. Lost 49/50 though :(

Yep I know that feeling, full Arena partied up to lessen the grind from Plat6 and lost 3 close objective games in a row. Loved every minute of it, close games are the best win or lose.

Feels good to finally get some mythic boss kills.

I'm so glad every single boss is Legendary or Mythic, I never would've had a chance at that commendation otherwise. Without Firefight I'd never finish any of the enemy kill commendations.

If I hadn't experienced the horror that was Heretic Elites in Reach's Firefight, I'd almost wish there were enemy Marines in WZ Firefight.

Heretic Elites with pro pipes. Jesus.

Posted my thoughts on WZFF in general at HBO, but the general feeling I have is difficulty could be tuned slightly higher, more random variables like skulls would add variety, and hopefully with Arc or with other maps we get an even broader set of objectives beyond seek-and-destroy and defense.

Alright I'm not drunk enough to miss some BULLSHIT

We had to shoot down the phaetons and I got a hydra but a dog killed me, so I respawn and run right back to my body but my hydra is gone even though I went there right away, and no teammate used a hydra on anything. The guns need to last longer on the ground.

I'm not gonna be finishing on top of the leaderboard for a while, or at least until I get some Scorpions. I can do decently for the majority of the match and then on the last wave all my teammates spawn Scorpions and run roughshod all over the enemies. I did get a final Warden Eternal kill on one match earlier today with a regular old Warthog gun though.

I'm not a fan of WZFF. In other things, we are now on 5/5 for both Covenant and Promethean enemies.
nice! and ditto on the firefight. i'll definitely use it to get through enemy comendations and to help with the sc commendations, but I'd prefer something more traditional like a survival mode. 5 lives or less, stay alive as long as possible while enemies keep coming, possibly getting harder and harder. Keep the maps and make it so moving around from different bases and locations is a strategic thing that actually helps you survive more easily.
and give me points that flash up on my screen like the fourth of july

I'm really digging this. I know I said a bit ago that I would never take first in WZFF due to my lack of Scorpions to score tons of points on the last wave but I just got stuck with a bunch of randoms who didn't have many Scorpions either. We ended up running out of time at the end on the last Warden Eternal but I took the number 1 spot still, with 39 kills, 31 assists, 3 rounds survived, 2 deaths, 2 boss takedowns, and 5(!) legendary boss takedowns. Guy in second place had 70+ kills but I guess my legendary boss takedowns clinched it. Thing is, I only finished with 15,200 points, which is kinda low from what I have seen the regular top scorers get. Still, it was cool to be declared the winner of a WZFF match moments after I decided I would probably never get it.

Played a few games and placed top 3 every time without using any REQ's outside of a Urban Hog and a Spitfire Plasma Pistol. Clever use of the Hog and picking up enemy weapons can net you great results without the need of using high level REQ's lol.

I had a lot of fun with it so far; it's great to jump in and mess shit up without caring too much.

So the whole survival aspect of firefight that actually made it interesting is removed for basically a fiesta firefight with no consequence for dying?

Welp

I hope that new gears has a decent horde mode

After a nights playing, I'm already bored of Firefight. Once I get all my AI commendations I probably won't play it often. And I am not sure why its called Firefight at all to be honest. Palmer doesn't even say Firefight in the beginning like I at least hoped she would, she just re-uses old dialogue like I expected they would.

I expect to be added back into the SC once the Firefight update is up for real. I'm gonna be playing the shit out of it.

It's not the Firefight I wanted, but still a lot of fun.

I'm done for the evening. All in all, I like WZFF. Or, I like the amount of REQ points I get from WZFF anyway; I never thought I would open so many Silver packs in one day. I didn't feel bored with the gametype but I have grown tired of A.R.C. already. Can't wait to play it on Raid or Darkstar in the future.
I'm glad they added an extra day. I imagine that I will be playing this during the majority of my free time until it ends.

Decided to give it another go, joined a game full of randoms.
Didn't die once, was an absolute breeze. 28000 odd points.

My mid range tank just flogged them, waaaaaaay too easy and quite boring tbh.

As others have said it's too easy and doesn't feel like a challenging, backs to the wall horde mode.

Like I posted on the previous page, they need to add defensive reqs, and have them replace vehicles in some games.

Chuck in some maps were you have to defend against waves with a revive mechanic. 8 player firefight could become the goat. At the moment though, it is ar from it imo.

Steamrolling games with no sense of desperation will get old fast.

When you get "defend the garage" and your teammates just spawn vehicles and sit outside.

tumblr_n08pil5hdh1rd1krjk1.gif

Yup, so far the only times I have failed was the garage. People simply don't want to go into it for some reason, they'll all just sit outside. One time it failed when we had 98/100 Prometheans killed lol.

WZFF is fun as hell, and at times it really earns the name Warzone in a way that none of the other gametypes do. It's pure glorious chaos at times.

That said its way too easy. With 7 randoms, none communicating, we blew through the five objectives in no time.

I don't think they need to change the core design. It's not a survival mode, and it doesn't have to be. But they need to keep the pressure up at all times. Infantry shouldn't stop spawning towards the end of rounds, making bosses soft targets. They enemies also need to be more effective against vehicles (where are the overcharged PPs and splinter Nades).

There need to be atleast 15 more rounds or infinite, winning should be rare. I hardly used any Reqs, and won easily. I can only imagine how parties of 8, with legendary Reqs would fair.

They also need more objectives.... Ones that force team work. How about taking a flag from enemy controlled blue base, and escorting it through a gauntlet back to red base? Or planting a bomb in a heavily guarded garage? Or survive for 5 min with a small pool of lives.

How about letting phantoms fight until they are destroyed?

After they fix all of that, they need to make a more traditional firefight: 1-8 players with limited lives, no time limits, unlimited rounds, no reqs. Custom games and/or MM. They can use Warzone Assault maps. How long can you survive?

We will easily have the Covenant and Promethean kills, by the end of the Beta.

Prometheans: 5062/29200 at Level 5/5
Covenant: 5273/19400 at Level 5/5

That's over 10.000 kills, in both categories, since yesterday. Good job everyone.

The only AI kills that are left afterwards are Marines and Warzone bosses. No Marines in Firefight obviously (and over 200.000 left anyways), but we got like 1700 Warzone Boss kills over the last few days. Putting us at 1507/9700 on Level 5/5.

I'm getting really mad at this game and 343's inability the provide a stable online experience. The servers were perfect a month ago but they needed to tinker with it again. Since two weeks ago I can't complete three matches without a disconnect, besides that I constantly hear Americans even when I'm playing in the European popular times. Thanks for caring for us Europeans I guess

Agree with most of this, though you're not going to see a version of firefight without reqs.

They just need to diversify objectives, and merge it with classic Firefight 'unlimited rounds, limited lives'. This would solve the difficulty problem as well, by having an infinitely increasing difficulty gradient, each round harder than the last. I'd like to see the campaign revive mechanic utilised to some extent

I really like the objective elements, and I hope they pull some of it through to the actual Warzone. CTF, Assault and Stronghold based objectives is a brilliant suggestion though.

We probably won't see a version without Reqs, but Halo5 would benefit greatly from it. I think 343i should realize by now that the req system isn't for everyone. So catering to a different audience would only help them in th long run. If the popularity of Warzone is any indication, the Warzone Firefight variant would still be the most popular. They'd have their cake and eat it too.

I can't see them putting limited lives into WZFF, because if the aim is to draw Reqs, having people experience up to five minutes of downtime will limit how many Reqs get used.

On another note, One thing that put a smile on my face during the beta, was the number of people that I heard saying Warzone Firefight brought them back to the game after a hiatus.
