How do you do that? How do you get the req points for each damage boosts?

Yeah, Warzone Turbo is the optimal place, but people that make videos showing off the strategies will typically be thriftier about their REQ levels, e.g. have a teammate call in a powerful weapon for them and then only use Damage Boost II instead of III, etc.
 
Today the Halo 5 firefight beta ended there are several things that still need to improve but I had blast playing it, thank you again 343 Industries for your hard work and for listen to the fans

Now that the excellent WZFF beta is over, and I'm having to go back to regular matchmaking, I was reminded of how much improvement 343i can make on playlist management.

Like clockwork, someone posted A Naded rant on Reddit.

I can't say I agree with everything, but he makes some strong points. The lack of an HCS playlist is strange. I wouldn't be mad if the maps in such playlist had more Pro-focused weapons layouts than the basic playlists (more lengthy automatics respawns, more inconvientiently placed, fewer on map, etc). And the Team Arena playlist needs to simply become an objective playlist.

Team doubles needs to comeback to stay, but the weapon layouts need to be modified to support the reduction in players.

The weapons layouts and respawn times on all maps needs to be addressed.

Also, some of the power weapons are too powerful, namely the Railgun and sniper.

It seems like 343i has had a lot of time to investigate these issues, but we're still waiting. Hopefully they've got some things in the work to coincide with pro league.

Finally managed to get a gears 4 beta code despite only playing the Ultimate edition for like 40 minutes.I do need to play more of the ultimate edition one day, but I'm mostly focusing on halo 5 still.

Gonna place Breakout first, the goat! I've not played this mode solid since the new maps dropped, still don't have starts down to a T on those. Nowhere near as comfy as I am on the OG maps.

In other news I just opened a Gold pack again forgetting I have uncommons left for a third time -.-

I dont wanna unlock shitty visors or emblems, etc

I just want armor

They're there to dilute the pool of REQs. That's why there's like seven green visors that are visually identical.

How many Rare emblems are locked to REQ packs? There are just.. so many ....

There are 127 that drop in REQs: 20 common, 34 uncommon, 29 rare, 33 ultra-rare, and 12 legendary. The rest are earned through commendations or promotions.

  2. Agree with lack of HCS playlist, but I understand the reasoning of not making special HCS maps. The new experiments should have gotten their own playlist with HCS separate for the time being (but this effects so few players it doesn't really matter, bigger issue was the forge changes).
  3. Newer maps are using less automatics than older ones, its already happening. Look at the removal of storm rifle on Empire or just the SMG/Suppressor in not traffic-heavy places on Torque. I believe tyrant has even fewer. I'd argue BR is easier to use than automatics sometimes.
  4. If Team Arena needs to work for HCS and normals, slayer has to stay (as much as this hurts me)
  5. Yeah sure add doubles
  6. Respawn times are fine. Weapon layouts were JUST addressed in the recent patch with the experiments. They will continue to be addressed
  7. Power weapons are not too powerful, that's complete bullshit. They are as powerful as they have been before. Why did no one complain when H2's snipers was easy as shit to use or H2's rocket that could lock on to air AND land vehicles. H5 had balance changes for the power weapons b4 release. Remember the shotgun was too strong and they nerfed it. I don't think most people have a problem with weapon balance. H5 shorter TTK and improved mobility REQUIRES power weapons to be just a bit better.
  8. And that fucking skill gap statement, GTFO. We saw at Worlds where the true skill gap lies. CLG vs. everyone else. Matching shows HUGE skill gaps. Even Platinum vs. Diamond is HUGE. H5 has the largest skill gap in so long because of mastery of weapons, mobility, team layout, etc.

This statement kills everything he says:
"Halo 5 is a great game but the way it's being ran is turning it into a bad game."
Like FUCK THAT. 343 has improved so much in supporting their game. Few modern AAA game devs give this much love and listen to feedback

I agree Remixes are kinda lazy and hugely disappointing at times. Eden is pretty great, Regret is ok. I don't know if it's a side effect of having to do maps all in house because they can't outsource it to Certain Affinity this go around or whatever but Tyrant and Torque (post-changes) are respectable at least.

Also:

OF COURSE IT IS. Pro team aren't devs. OF COURSE the decision is still up to devs.

The HCS Pro League Invitational will be broadcast live starting at 11:30AM EST on Sunday, April 24 as Evil Geniuses, OpTic Gaming, Team EnVyUs and Enigma 6 battle it out. Team Allegiance disbanded after the Halo World Championship, and the four squadmates are now each occupying a roster spot on these four teams. But only one of them will come away with the second official HCS Pro League spot!

More objectives. A harder version with better rewards. More unique objectives.

Otherwise not sure what else id change. We did have one warden fight where we had to keep killing watchers. Couldn't kill warden in time because we had to keep killing watchers.

I want Assault and the newer maps ready for Pro League. I can't handle Rig Strongholds, Fathom CTF and Regret Slayer over and over again. Even though the maps aren't liked by the pros it adds variety.

Admittedly, I'm confused and/or not up to stuff on all the weapon layout changes (been playing so much Warzone lately). Is storm rifle out of all Empire gametypes?

I'm kind of torn on the idea of HCS having different weapon layouts. It worked for Halo3 if I remember correctly.

Tyrant doesn't have any autos at all. Is the Jury still out on its quality? I can't pass judgment because I've only played it once.

I don't think Team arena should exist. It should be split into 1) HCS: only official tournament maps and modes and 2) Team Objective: which has objective gametypes and a wider variety of maps and modes. There's no reason a pro player go into matchmaking and get Strongholds on Riptide.

I think he's crazy off base with his skill gap complaints. The fact that CLG dominates proves it. But he's right about the spawn system and some of the weapon placements and spawn times (I'm cool with storm rifles, but it spawning every 20seconds behind cover is silly)

The sniper rifle and rail gun are way too easy to use. And there WERE complaints about H2s sniper and Rockets. H3 fixed those issues, if I remember correctly.

I got one in my opening spree yesterday. Saved up a bunch of RP and opened a ton of Silvers. Now I've only got 11 commons and 24 uncommons to go before I can star mowing through rares (all 95 of them...) and finally move onto golds.
 
Things I'd like to see implemented for Firefight (lybertyboy write this down).

-Limited lives per round - 14-16 lives, this gives a little give to the 8 Spartans while still creating a challenge and a punishment towards death.
-Covenant or Promethean only matches - Each game would have exclusively Covenant or Promethean enemies on the map. This keeps matches feeling fresh on a game by game basis.
-New objectives: Escort a teammate to plant a bomb, capture points from enemies, etc...
-Skull modifiers with each successive round
-More vehicular bound enemies
-Garage objective shouldn't have enemies spawning within the garage, they should spawn surround the garage and swarm in.

I'm way happier getting a barebones launch with a strong core base game with fluff filled out over time than a launch base game that's 98% preservatives which only yields "balanced" gametypes in the future that have to be barebones as fuck. Looking at you, Reach MLG.

Oh and Ordance drops would be cool to implement back to Halo with Firefight. Random ones will drop like care packages. One could be a Nornfang or a REQ level increase. Maybe even one that rewards x2 REQ points earned.

Maybe that would make players too greedy though.
