It was a bad video game

Multiplayer wasn't as memorable as 1/2/3 but it was by no stretch of the imagination a bad game.
I liked Halo 4 more than Reach.

I really like Halo 4. Seems to be the Halo I'm best at.
And you gotta admit, the graphics are insane for running on such old hardware.
graphics were nice, but considering how absurdly dull most of the combat encounters were or how crummy the new weapons are or how sloppy the multiplayer turned out to be, what was it all in service of? Just another bad video game to wow casuals with its visuals.
Reach:I have a confession to make. I cannot remember a single moment from either the Reach or Halo 4 campaigns. I guess they just didn't do it for me.

I think a lot of us were especially good at Halo 4. It had ridiculous aim assist, easily exploitable armor abilities, power weapons that could be delivered to your exact location, etc. And then there were other, more subtle phenomenon, like sprint + instant respawns causing less intelligent players to rush back into danger over and over and over.I really like Halo 4. Hey yall, I want to follow more people from GAF on Twitter. Especially Halo fans. Follow me, and I'll follow back.

You just made my mom spit out her coffee.-coolest looking armor options
My favorite things about Halo 4 multiplayer:
-everyone can sprint
-unlimited sprint perk
-jetpack feels just right
-coolest looking armor options

I wonder what the player distribution will be like in this game. I'm slightly concerned that the population for each title will be a bit on the low side simply because not all Halo fans have XB1's (yet) and since every game will be available to play online that might fragment everything.

It'll start out fragmented, for sure, but this is basically their way of saying "if you're waiting for good Halo to come out on next-gen consoles, you better hop on board now."
I just hope it's not the worst case scenario where you see the same players in multiple games. I think it will probably be similar to when Halo 2 and Halo 3 were running concurrently (both games had healthy populations if I remember right). I doubt Halo 4 will have a strong population at all.

I find the DMR far more satisfying than any iteration of the BR. The Halo 4 BR is the best, but the easy aim assist cheapens the experience. All I remember about Reach was how inferior and utterly boring using the DMR was compared to using a BR and how washed out and grey everything was.
You are like the anti-old school Halo fan (not that it's a bad thing, to each his own).
Halo 3's BR wasn't much of a reliable weapon, so it isn't a much better alternative. I'm all for a single shot rifle, but the bloom, 3x scope, and aim-assist at long distance made that weapon too powerful for its own good. I know they wanted it to be a mid-long range rifle with the pistol acting as the close quarters weapon, but with how they neutered the pistol post-beta, it wasn't going to work that way.All I remember about Reach was how inferior and utterly boring using the DMR was compared to using a BR and how washed out and grey everything was.

As for the Reach-Halo 4 small talk: I know there's opinions and all, but Halo 4 had worse weapons, maps, and gametypes than Reach. And the armor abilities somehow had gotten more miserable.
I will never understand the hate for Halo 4.
