Y'know, Halo 3 was definitely the Halo I played the least. I was a 2 man, and I was never a fan of the floaty weirdness of Halo 3. But looking back through my pictures still makes me smile, we had some good times with 3.
This was the most interesting kill I ever got in 3. So I'm on Guardian, game starts and I rush for sniper. Pick it up, look down the scope to find 3 guys almost perfectly lined up for a double at least. I take the shot. Hits first guy in the head, kills him. 2nd guy, hits him in head (clearly visible) he doesn't drop nor does his sheild pop but the third guy? hits him in the hip/groin and kills him outright. I really wish I had saved this as a film so you could watch it for yourself. Unfortunately i never had BungiePro. Wonder if you guys ever experienced the awkwardness of the netcode when you gave the game something like this to deal with?

I went back into halo 3 Mlg a month ago and was surprised how fast it comes back.
Anyone know what the IGN update is today? I'm really hoping we get an update soon with some worthwhile information (what versions of the games were ported, how/if netcode was updated, how Azure impacts things, other technical details), but it's seeming as if we're not going to get any of that at all.
In other news, planning on pre-ordering my white Xbone in the next day or two.

i had the assumption the todays update will be the livestream
if they continue with their daily update timeframe itll be 2 hours before the livestream, we probably get information on what stream will be used and what the community submitted as potential game picks

The problem about live streaming a collection like this, is that 1080p and 60fps is a major selling feature and live streams typically don't provide that. Even if they do, I highly doubt it will be stable. This will be fun nonetheless.

Netcode/physics awkwardness were more common occurrences for me with Halo Reach. Several times I experienced what became a staple of early Rooster Teeth "Fails of the Weak" series where I'd be on typically a Ghost and then I'd be flung across the map as if from some sort of God-like slingshot.
On the same vantage point from Guardian I had one of the most memorable double kills of my Halo career where I heaved a blind hail mary plasma grenade toss, stuck an opponent and he walked right into a nearby teammate. I didn't even see it live (only after through theater), was hiding up on that tower after chucking the nade only to hear "DOUBLE KILL" and see a double kill and stick medal.
Halo's got some moments man...

It'll be running at 720p/60fps. 343 requested having a higher frame rate. IGN's bandwidth couldn't handle both.

They're better off prioritizing frame rate for streams anyhow. Even 1080p done through a good streaming player isn't really going to give you an idea of what it'll look like live on your screen. You might as well be watching gameplay through a slightly vaseline-smeared filter compared to playing the game live at PAX.
They could, or it might just be stuff that's safe to leave out. Unless the Didact comes back, the fact that he came back in the comics doesn't change the status quo. It's just like First Strikeyou didn't need it to play through Halo 2, but it filled in a lot of gaps and added a story of its own.

Seriously, I live in the UK and had to deal with a lot of connection shenanigans online in Halo 2/3/4
I am so excited to play people all dialing into one server that is picked via the ping instead of Brian from mexico with the 2mbps connection getting host.
