I've been enjoying H2C and H4 most so far. I've had a few great CE 2v2s, but I'm just not good enough at that game to enjoy it all the time. I liked H2A a lot at first, but something feels off about it. And then H3 is never fun.

Will ranks really matter if the playerbase is so much smaller now that matchmaking times might INCREASE trying to find a good match for you?

I've honestly never been that frustrated by skill matching. It seems like in general games I play half the time are decently close, and then the other half alternate between being stomps one way or another. My tolerance might be in part because if you like a game like Dota, even the idea matching system results in the same kind of breakdown (because small differences in skill snowball in MOBAs.)
My frustration usually comes from the maps and spawns themselvesgetting pigeonholed on Lockdown is never fun, and never will be fun, because I'm not convinced Lockout was ever a good 4v4 map.
Halo 3 can be fun, in a janky, nostalgia filled way.

Need a full team for Halo 3, or until they bring back lone wolves/regicide (I hate 8-10 player rumble pit with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns)

Historically, initial spawns in H2 Classic were always wonky depending on the map. But on Coagulation they should be at base, correct?
Can't give specifics on the new update yet but it casts a pretty wide net.

H2A has been my favorite, but I have become bored of the tiny map selections. I really wish they'd remake all the Halo 2 maps, even if they had to charge for some. Halo 3 is also fantastic still.
I'd assume it would just be the team objective spawns. Every h2c slayer game spawns you at random.
On midship I almost spawn always with the enemy team in the same base

I would rather just had H2A as a stand alone game with all the maps remade then MCC. However, having all the Halos (minus Reach) on one system is nice.
It also sucks because they made this fantastic Forge mode for H2A, yet nothing, not even 343i made/approved maps have made it into matchmaking.
MCC desperately need this.

Hey now, just because my GAF account is still scrub-tier doesn't mean I'm not a long-time Halo fan.
Many a Halo CE LAN parties were hosted during my high school years leading up until Halo 2's release. Halo 2 quickly started the downfall of the Halo LAN party. It's probably why I subconsciously feel it's the worst Halo. Though I'll echo what folks are saying that Halo 3 multi seems pretty bad by today's standards--somehow it has managed to age worse than CE.

Had a custom Halo 4 game with some friends the other night and I had forgotten how different the old infinity mode with ordinance was.
I managed to call down an overshield during a battle and kill a buddy of mine after grabbing it. He was livid seeing as he's only played on the MCC version which doesn't have that type of gameplay in multi.
I can't stand the legendary game type because it takes away my thruster pack but people really don't give enough credit to how far Halo 4s infinity slayer has come. Even though I love doing little tricks with ordinance I can totally see how the game is much more balanced and fun for everyone with standard drops. But as it stands now with the game working better a lot of the old complaints are taken care of. The class based gameplay is still there but weapons on timers, faster movement speed, red Xs, jerks like me not abusing the ordinance and tons of little things have really improved the game.
