Sad that CLG was able to beat Denial. I'm still salty CLG dropped Heinz. I don't think they will beat EG.

edit: Very interested in what high level H5 HCS will look like. Pretty sure someone at 343 already stated on twitter recentish that there will be pre-release tournaments for H5 like the H2A ones. Hopefully soon.

EG takes the win.

That's part of the show, that's part of most commentary. It's great.

The audio level are completely out of whack. Even with the volume adjusted where I can't hear the game at all, can't hear the other announcer, it still hurts my ears when he yells. I"ve basically muted it now.

The mixing was bad all weekend. Which sucks cause I really like Simms.

If CLG got that final arm..

Is Stinkles around? I want to know if I'll ever physically own paperbacks of these two new books!

The military-grade artificial intelligence known as Iona has only one week to live. After that, the UNSC will legally terminate her seven-year existence in order to stave off the threat of the data corruption phenomenon known as “rampancy,” a condition that will eventually take hold of her functionality and persona, endangering all those around her. In a last-ditch effort to save herself, Iona has successfully launched an unprecedented legal appeal against her own death sentence—a case being watched very closely at not only the highest levels of human government, but by others with a very different agenda…

Seems interesting, preordered. Can't beat a $1!

I really envy people who perfect H2 BXR. This is my friends game clip.

gj throwing it to the other team for a touch return instead of instantly killing him with a melee with the flag instead of his rifle

He probably would have died before getting to the melee, run speed would have been too slow, would have got four'd while trying to melee.

All four dead, so grab the flag again and go straight across mid, easy cap.

Kazuma is a genius. Halo 5 OST sounds much better than Halo 4's. Listen to this!

BXR is honestly not very hard (not boasting), but it is satisfying. Double Shot is the thing that is truly difficult to pull off consistently.

Yeah, it's really just a thumb roll once you get used to it. I can do it perfectly and I only ever used it as a joke in customs.

The rules of Halo 2: never be in melee range of anyone, and never use the zoom function of any rifle, let the game shoot for you unzoomed.

This makes me happy. Feels distinctly familiar but all new as well. By having Kazuma in-studio too the in-game mix will work much better. The music was very poor in game for H4. Say what you will about Marty, he matches the music to the action. His soundtracks may not be the best outside the game, but his music works in game. Destiny has amazing music.

I'm really liking those classic tunes in there. Gonna go listen to some Warthog run music now, get me all amped.

I'm just distracted by this dude throwing the flag at the blue team for a touch return
He didn't know the enemy was there and he figured it was safe because his teammate was that way. Sometimes these things happen, and -
He probably would have died before getting to the melee, run speed would have been too slow, would have got four'd while trying to melee.

- this is probably what would have happened next.

Does anyone know where to get "pro" micro USB cables for Xbox One?

By "pro" I mean ones that will stay firmly connected to the controller unlike the one that comes with the play and charge.

The ones the pro team use in The Sprint look ideal but I don't know where to get them.

Any help finding them or something like them would be greatly appreciated.

Monoprice. It's the only place i buy cables. Highest quality, lifetime guarantee, and the lowest prices for any type of cable.

Get a 6 ft premium micro usb and a 10 or 15 foot extension for under $5

It sure sounds like it... Ahhh I could listen to the string section of Cairo Suite for days, there's just something about it. And all of Halo 2's soundtrack for that matter.

I hope to hear Covenant Dance, though. One of my all time favourites.

Yeah, I'm surprised that one has never reprised in any of the sequels.

It's been my goal to make the pilgrimage to the homeland since the first RTX but i have never had the time
or money
to go. At least my maps will be playable at the GrifballHUB booth.

So, I just watched some Warzone footage, and I've gotta say, it looks pretty neat. I'll probably try it out a few times at least. But there was one think I saw that bothered me; the Spartan Laser still feels really weak and unsatisfying. I haven't even played the game myself, but I can tell this because it functions almost exactly like the Reach and H4 lasers, which I also hated compared to the H3 version. Take a look:

Here's a clip of the Halo 3 laser
Here's a clip of the Halo 4 laser (the H5 version is nearly identical)

Notice how mush feedback the H3 laser gives you, your aim is kicked up (although it settles to the exact point you were aiming at originally) and you're immediately decsoped. Wow, that laser is so string, it kicks you all the way out of your scope!

The H4 (and 5) version barely kicks at all (I think it might have even less kick in 5) and you still get descoped, but it takes a second. That's important because it happens after your aim has settled and the shot is done, so it feels much like a game mechanic than a result of how powerful the gun is (in fact, until I recorded those two clips up above, I didn't even know that the H4 laser descoped you at all, but I distinctly remembered it as part of why the H3 version was more fun to use.).

Anyway this is a relatively minor nitpick but it's bugged me for a long time so I just had to rant about it for a bit. If anyone at 343 is reading this, there's still like, 3 months or something before launch, so you have plenty of time to make this small change that would make the Spartan Laser feel much more satisfying to use!

good night

I'm wondering if there'll be different conditions for the skins in the req packs.

By the sounds of it, packs won't be too hard to earn. Outside of buying them you'll be getting them every rank, awarded them randomly (I think), and youll be able to break items down to go towards new ones.

It's great there's different avenues to getting the packs, but making things too attainable and easy takes the fun out of collecting and getting something new. And presumably you wont be able to sell/trade the stuff you get. So having different conditions means getting a 'double' isn't automatically useless, there's still be something to work towards.
There's probably a whole team dedicated to working on the economic side of things, let alone the art team drawing up stuff. Find this kind of stuff fascinating.

This message brought to you by someone who just wasted more money on CSGO keys.

Yeah I think Josh Holmes said there's different tiers based off different accomplishments and that legendary weapons and certain skins (i believe?) only come from certain legendary packs.

Also, Halo 5 OST is getting me pumped.

I don't understand why a laser weapon has recoil, let alone a recoil heavy enough that a Spartan can't handle it.

I have to admit, I liked 343's interpretation of rampancy compared to Bungie's which seemed more deadpan, one-dimensional tiers of emotion (sadness / anger / envy) with some Hal thrown in, and then in certain cases like Mendicant Bias they'd magically reconcile their sentience. H4 treated it more like a fluid passage between the three where AI went through their rebellious teen phase, just handling exponentially more information and feelings they'd ever come to expect, which was compounded by having to relay it to such relatively "dumb" human cohorts. Not to mention reconciling a surge of emotions actually seemed like a logical outcome for AI transsentience rather than Bungie framing it like a cycle.

uh... Bungie's version of rampancy is an AI struggling with its own mortality, which drives it either insane or grants it metastability. It's the entire arc of Marathon, ffs, which is one of the best-written story arcs in gaming.
