I was looking up whether or not any Spartan IIs were still alive in during the time Halo 4 takes place. Apparently there are a few, so any of you guys who are up to date on the books, what are the chances we see any Spartan IIs in the new trilogy at some point or even in 4? I know they have Spartan IVs now but I think it would be really cool for long time fans who read Fall of Reach to see some of those Spartans in the game.

Hard to say. Probably not very high if they don't want to confuse the general public who was convinced that the Chief is the only II alive, it might also depend on how "special" they want him to appear in the games - they won't let you wear his armor, so maybe they also wouldn't want more oversized Spartans stealing the spotlight.

The same point there is in replaying campaign, because that's essentially what Spartan Ops is. It's not meant to be an infinitely replayable mode.

This was my exact line of thinking when I saw that theater mode was cut. I really liked theater mode, but if its inclusion meant compromising the campaign's visuals, I'm not too upset.

I think you get more XP doing SOs than Campaign, but that could just bullshit Elzar whispered in my ear one drunken night.

And there's always those weekly/daily/monthly challenges.

I guess that is true, but I did really enjoy scoring in firefight and campaign.

I hope they are still in there.

I just watched the Haven IGN walkthrough and it looks like the map no longer has the incredibly harsh, bright lighting. I mean, the map is still well lit, but it doesn't seem to have the lighting the would wash over the environment like before. =(

Even just last week while playing through Halo 3 campaign with Elzar & Co. I really wanted to go back in theater and capture some moments. Sadly you can't even upload Halo 3 and ODST screenshots to Waypoint. No campaign theater mode would be bullshit van de bovenste plank. They've got an entire disc to fit campaign and theater on, use it dammit.

If it is gone, I'd really like to know the reason. I know if they did cut it, it wouldn't have been a decision that was made lightly.

They used some sort of recording tool to show off campaign in vidocs so they have something. What limits them from making the tool available at retail?

I said "I imagine..." which is to say, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that there's very little business case for campaign theatre. I certainly won't miss it and I imagine—given my experience with a lifetime of Halo—most people in the Halo community won't miss it either.

Multiplayer theatre mode had a lot of compelling applications, but campaign theater is something that adds very little to the game. Who wants to watch other people play through the campaign, but not from their perspective? Who wants to watch themselves play through the campaign again? Some, certainly you, but not many. It's such a fringe desire to go poking around campaign theatre.

I tried it back then and I enjoyed it to some degree, but I enjoyed it like anyone enjoys something novel. Looking back, it's an unnecessary toy that distracted development from making Halo: Reach a better game.

Hmm, I may be crazy then.. Just the lighting in the sky didn't seem to be blinding and wash over things anymore.

Ok yeah it still seems to be there, but it also seems to be tuned down a bit while you are in the middle looking out.

Been a little burned out on all my games, plus been out of town on my days off for the past couple months. However I'm home all day today and tomorrow. Might play some Minecraft or something light.

No campaign theatre is a fucking joke.

These last few days I've been utterly pessimistic about War Games, but overly optimistic about Campaign and SpOps; now even that is fading.

What got cut from Forge? Admittedly there wasn't much truly valuable added, but nothing was cut.
