Why was it called "Throwback"? Because Regicide is the next generation standard of FFA? Regicide is poop and god help us if it's ever considered "classic" in the next 5 years.

I plan on making more from various Campaign missions then making a collage like wallpaper out of them. I plan on doing the Library and 343 Guilty Spark next.

I like the second one. Very nice.
 
max payne for 20 bucks at best buy. worth it?

Fun. I paid 60 but I like having it in my collection. It is a good R* game but not near the value of LA Noire or Red Dead. Worth $20 if you plan to keep it in your collection otherwise just borrow it and beat it one weekend.

Co-op.. I guess I was close to the rock (which my co-op buddy spawned inside the rock) then I died and spawned in the rock..

So we were stuck... restarted the mission..

edit: amusing and annoying at the same time.. hah

I actually really enjoyed Spartan Ops this week. CGI was great and the story is getting interesting + the missions were great fun.

Yeah, that sucks. Probably a collision bug on that rock which is causing the co-op spawn logic to think it's safe to place you inside the rock. Almost certainly the same thing that Cyren mentioned in 1-4.

If you're not, add smaller maps. I'd rather snipe in CQC than spend a whole minute battling one player on a large scale map because he can hide behind everything.

Add Beam Rifles to the map, because why not?

Make the loadouts with a grenade and a pistol, combat tends to be dull and with flinch it's just a monstrosity at times.

Flinch works in Call of Duty because the kill times are fractions of a second.

Flinch doesn't work in Halo because I'm unable to out shoot my opponent because my aim is rendered useless just because he's able to get shots on me.

Would it be that much to ask for if they added a feature, say, in the control scheme menu to auto take you out of scope if you wanted? I can't imagine it would give you the largest advantage.

Balance as in I'll lose to a lesser skilled player 4/10 times instead of 3/10 times, yeah.

Balance as in this fixes issues with weapon strength, I think that's yet to be seen.

I'm not frustrated with flinch in the latter scenario either as much as I am in previous. I don't like losing battles I feel I could have won because a game mechanic temporarily rendered my aiming useless.

You'll start losing battles because the other player had an advantage in reducing a mechanic that handicaps you more than him. It's scary.

This happened to me earlier today. I was trying to take down a sniper across the map on Solace, but after my fourth shot on him, he finally got the headshot on me. I was impressed until I saw the killcam, where I saw that he didn't flinch at all. It was frustrating to see.

At that moment I decided I will take the Rogue specialization when I hit level 50.

This is my biggest worry. Also I will have to choose my specialisation to get stability so I'm not on the receiving end of the handicap :/

Ehhhh I may have spoken too soon, I meant more in a way that I'm glad they added SOMETHING to counteract the 'no-unscoping-after-being-shot' mechanic.

I had only problems on Vortex with hiding and everything. But yes some smaller maps would be great for snipers (no not abandon.. the spawns are awful there)

Yeah, I don't mind it as much in DMR vs DMR scoped battles because it feels like a level playing field. Both guns impact the same damage so when scoped, you're dealing and compensating for the same amount of flinch as the opposing player.

I think the BR's strength actually lies in it's recoil, but it's an unfair strength. I can aim at the chest landing nearly guaranteed body shots, planning on the enemy player hitting me at least once, kicking my BR up and landing a final headshot to kill him. It works, but it's cheesy when you break down why it's working.

It presents a unique problem when flinch is applied across the board, and it presents an even more daunting and looming problem once players start unlocking the mods that reduce it.

I had only problems on Vortex with hiding and everything. But yes some smaller maps would be great for snipers (no not abandon.. the spawns are awful there)

The Beam Rifles would promote map movement on bigger maps because they are slightly easier to handle, giving players a reason to move and pick them up.

Radar slows down the pace of play because you can camp and read radar, especially on bigger maps. Players feel like they can move more freely when radar is disabled.

Pistols and grenades also promote movement and decrease camping, as you can grenade players out of their position.

Someone explain this to me. You'd rather be zoomed completely out and more or less dead in the water than have your reticle move a slight bit when being shot at? With flinch at least you can recover and finish the job.

Maybe it's just me, but I have much better luck finishing someone far away off with flinch than being completely scoped out and they get away.

Re-zooming is a skill, getting knocked out of scope and still landing your shots is a skill, and I'm not yet convinced flinch is the right answer to the 343's perceived "problem" with it.

Also, as was mentioned in the Sparkast, flinch is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more jarring than getting knocked out of scope.

No, you can't and I'd rather have the option to get away if I get knocked way off target. It's dumb CoD first shot wins logic like this that sucks.

I'm actually more indifferent to the scoping/flinching than I thought I was going to be. I however do not like how sniping just keeps getting easier and easier. It's so difficult to challenge a sniper now and it kind of cheapens up the weapon, sadly. Coupled with just how easy it is to no scope still, getting kills with Sniper isn't as satisfying as it used to be.

Sorry totally misread it, thought you was implying we could choose between beam rifles and sniper rifles as loudouts, yes I agree as weapons on the map it would be great.

I know what you want with no radar, but looking back at Reach people still played the same in Snipers on bigger maps without radar, for example on Hemorrhage, but maybe on some maps it would be better without it, yes.

And I just don't want other weapons than snipers in team snipers :(

It slows down Team Snipers because you NEED to have a place to hide behind if you get flinched, the recoil is that bad.

You're not gonna land any clutch shots if you get hit while in scope because you're temporarily praising the Sun gods hoping you don't die in the process.

People will probably get used to YYing out of scope after a while, but the problem is, I guess, that it's preferable to be descoped automatically when being hopelessly pinged, rather than being allowed(forced) to stay in scope and challenging with what basically amounts to double recoil. At least with de-scope you could recenter your aim quickly while strafing, with flinch you kind of just stand there and plug away until you're dead.

It's mostly on the player to realize when to back down, but I don't really like it that way. Favours the DMR and Snipers way too much.

I'd rather not have a bobbing reticule to combat, yes. A mechanic that worked for four games was not in need of an overhaul. One of the things I like about Halo - very specifically - is I don't feel like I'm combating the game mechanics in order to play it. I want to fight players on the basis of my movement, aim, tactics, strategy and execution of such. Not on the basis of who can combat their bucking bronco of a targeting reticule. It represents a bright red line in game design philosophy, and I do not enjoy it when it's crossed. (Reach crossed it with reticule bloom.)

I lack the words to articulate how dismayed I am that Halo 4 added it.
