more fair than ever? IMO its several times more effective (even cheap) than in previous games.

and with personal ordnance it's hardly "rare".

grab the sword at the start of a match, get a few kills with your primary until you have ordnance. if you're lucky you'll get a speed boost. now combine that with promethean vision and mobility (unlimited sprint) and if you're a half decent player that's pretty much a guaranteed killing frenzy. or riot if you throw in a couple kills with your other weapon.

the actual sword isn't to blame though, it's fine, as are the rest of the power weapons. it's halo 4 itself. perks, ordnance, PV, global sprint etc. I'm getting 40+ kills a lot more often than i did in previous halos. it's fun, but its mindless stupid fun. I'd kill for halo to go back to how it used to be but I'm not holding my breath. I'll just go with it , I'm tired of bitching about the game

btw according to that list, I'm 5th in the world for numbr of sword kills in halo 4. haha

Niiiiice! Good job sir! I think you nailed the point right on the head. The sword mechanic itself really isn't that different, it's the perks and ordnance and such. But like I originally said everybody has access to the same abilities that allow you to run around with close quarter weapons. I still think without global sprint and the current power of the loadout weapons that none of the shorter range weaponry would stand a chance and that would promote even more camping though.

And it's still never nearly as bad as freaking boltshots.

The worst design released so far?

Are they even trying anymore?

Yeah, that's better than what I posted. I knew someone would post Ditto as a response. Ditto's design is really appropriate to me for what it does, which takes the shape of other Pokemon, so it's okay.

That bird...thing...I don't know what the fuck that is. What are those lines in it? Veins? Is it a mutant "Y"? What the hell is that? Does it have an origin story as a mistreated letter in the Pokemon world so it decided to evolve into that thing?

It's a fucking blob with a face. It isn't even legally an original design.

It's a fucking blob with a face.

I remember convincing my neighbor that Ditto was the best pokemon in the game and he traded me a high level alakazam for it I think. get shit on kid.

It's a blob with a face. It's an emoticon. It isn't even a design. The same can be said for a lot of Gen 1 Pokemon.

Arguing that there were some designs in Gen 1 that were bad doesn't make that Y thing look any better. It's still a horrible design. Can we have something like Lugia again please?

Now to play the devil's advocate, it's pretty apparent that 343 was passionate about Halo 4.

There was like 12 thousand different people on it. No way this wasn't going to be a mess. 343i always said they were overseeing everything Halo. By oversea I don't think we though it meant literally outsource everything.

Haven't played a Pokemon game other than Red.

Never will unless it really impresses me. 3D Pokemon is a good direction, but not enough.

I don't understand why they didn't announce a Pokemans game on the Wii U. I would have gobbled that shit up.

So for it to impress you, all they'd have to do is release it on WiiU. No mention of features, graphics or how it'd interact with others. 3D isn't good enough but any title on the WiiU is?

Ok.

unless you equip stealth, a PV user can tell when you have a boltshot (not to mention the distinct sound it makes) and like I mentioned use his other weapon and keep his distance, or time his attack better, or find another enemy player, or wait or a teammate to engage you. and if you're not wielding the boltshot at the time, then the time it takes to switch and charge up to counter the sword you'll probably be dead already especially when they have speed boost

re the boltshot, i despised it at first and refused to use it. now I despise it and it's my secondary. if they want to give us a power weapon as a loadout ill use it. sure as hell hope it doesnt return in the next game.

Well I've usually got PV active and dexterity so I'm set against campers and sword lungers.

Balance aside I love the Boltshot as a novel Halo weapon that's more like the Forerunner stuff we saw previously. Secondary fire weapons are cool.

My 40th birthday didn't make me feel old, but all this talk about Pokeman sure as shit does.

Fuck all you kids.

Sorry. When I started my new job and told them my coworkers my birthday was 1990, they all started complaining.

Man you really like digging into the semantics of every post.

I'm just assuming a WiiU Pokemon game would be something special. Not hindered by the limits of a handheld.

Also, having dabbled with the 3DS, the actual 3D effect is obnoxious and makes my eyes hurt. I just like the way you control the player in this one, its a step in the right direction, but not a big enough leap to make me want to buy it.

My ideal pokemon game would be an open world where you control your character from the 3rd person, but aren't limited to movement in 2 directions. Think like Red Dead, GTA, Final Fantasy.... stuff like that. And the pokemon won't randomly pop up in tall grass. They'd just be in the world in their respective habitats.

The combat, I'd rather be more combat that choosing attacks, but whatever.

Skyrim but with pokemons and more towns and monsters.

Would be perfect.

This is pretty much what I think as well.

Silver and Gold pretty much nailed all te usability stuff I wanted (backpack, etc) without all the extra garbage. If I was going to go back to Pokemon I'd want it to be the Skyrim equivalent.

Edit: beaten by Ice to that analogy.

I would seriously consider buying a WiiU for a game like this, though to be on the safe side I'd have the combat system just like the handhelds but in 3D.

They supposedly had that sort of game in the works for the N64 I think. There was a video on didyouknowgaming that mentioned it. It got scrapped and was expected to resurface when the hardware could handle it as far as I can recall.
