I sometimes start Xfire to see if someone from the good 'ol days is still playing UT'99
Even just a custom game browser would be great. It seems like such a perfect fit for a game like Halo with all of its different kinds of maps and gametypes.

Just played doubles pro on Haven. It was good but not as good as Halo 3 doubles. I am not sure what makes Halo 4 a boring game might be the maps and dull colors idk.
Doubles is in desperate need of red X's and shots fired indicators. The game tells me all kinds of shit I dont't care about like +10 points and nothing I want to know like my teamate is in trouble or dead. I really don't think this game is fixable and by fixable I mean making the game fun.

What did I miss?
Pretty much every game ends up exactly like that. One side wrecks the other. Other side leaves or loses.
Only had one game that was close and it ended 290-280. We were 10 kills down and pulled it back with 10 seconds left and couldn't get the last kill to tie the game.
Definitely enjoying myself though which is new.
I dunno. I wasn't at HaloFest.
Do we have any idea when we might get another Forge test playlist?

Yeah, to be fair that's a problem a lot of franchises have. If it were te real world everyone would look at the protagonist and say "do what you do" instead of second-guessing.
I really liked Del Rio, personally. Yeah he's a jerk, but if you read TTW (and even without that, thanks to some nice subtle beats in the cinematics) you get the sense he's just reacting to being way over his head.

Fuck this game. Let's create a fucking doubles playlist with join in progress that never fucking brings in another goddamn player. You know what, let's not publish the names of the custom doubles maps before the playlist fucking launches so you have no fucking clue what you're playing until you see a new map on the voting screen. Hey I got a good fucking idea, let's leave the personal ordnance for large maps, even though this is motherfucking doubles. Hey, how about we come up with a system to submit maps to the developers, but have it be the same shit filled system that we used in Halo Reach where the only feedback comes from the Cartographers instead of the people who actually have the power to put it in the game. Hey you know what isn't abusable in doubles even the slightest? A team running Camo and Promethean Vision. That's just fucking camp city. Oh but just in case your PV guy can see as much as Ray Charles, we'll give you a radar, just to make sure that your fucking streak doesn't end so you can get another goddamn binary rifle.

Figured I'd ask one more time and see if I get lucky, but anybody know where the music tracks for the latest episodes of Spartan Ops are coming from? Is there some mission disk 2 to the soundtrack? Because I can't find those tracks anywhere.
The dev (sorry I forgot his name) posted in that steam registry thread saying he was upset that his reveal was given away since he was planning a reveal trailer and such. He asked if he could avoid those kinds of leaks in the future but even if he hid the name as Test App or something the community page would have still given it away.
Likelihood of Halo trilogy on Steam growing.

They didn't nerf ordnance? The fuck? I only had shotties/saws coming up in my PODS, but I only saw PODS a couple times. They really need to up the weight on Pro.
Thinking about it. Also Steam thing is bunk as far as our stuff is concerned anyway. on't know what Dyad is or what that was all about.

Good news.
The Chief can be seen as "old guard" (remember how Infinity Commander whose-name-escapes-me treaded the Chief?), and thus unsuitable - politically - to lead the Spartan IVs (also, we don't know just how strategically minded he is really, and what about handling logistics? Sure, he has ability there but does he have enough? Or will for the job?). He was Halsey's favorite. The S-IV program seems to be to Paragonsky's (spelling?) project. Or at least done with her blessing. I know she is pragmatic so she probably could overlook this, intellectually, she might subconsciously skip over the Chief.
Also, the Chief's been MIA for a long time. And Palmer's been with IVs from the beginning, being familiar with them. IVs are not like IIs in many ways, seemingly sharing more similarities with IIIs (but also different from them).
And then there's Halo 4's ending, and, as i interpret it:
The Chief's retirement as a Spartan for the time being
The new sandbox opens up so many interesting new potential experiences. It's a shame custom load-outs are such a focal point right now. With the absence of Action Sack, more variety on that level would be so refreshing. It's depressing to see so many cool new guns ignored because the DMR is king.
It would be great to see this. Would be even more awesome if the game was released right when my PC was finished.

One thing: I don't think Palmer's been with a lot of the IVs for that long. Majestic and Crimson are clearly new, probably a lot if the others are too. Clearly she was one of the first grads of the program but we don't really know if that was in 2553 or not.

I reckon it is time to check Halopedia for the program... EDIT yup, she was. So her backround as enlisted officer and a veteran certainly make her eiglible to the job. If only she wasn't so annoying as a character...
