I thought everyone here hated no bleedthrough, evolution halting, melee.
I wish some of these skins looked good enough to compare to some EVA designs.
Wait, that BR skin and Forest Skin are available from any (NA or Europe) Gamestop, not just Canadian ones?
If so, nice, as i pre-ordered from Gamestop.
I'm starting to belive there won't be armor parts, merely skins which dictate a pattern AND certain pieces.
Hopefully we'll have both pieces and skins though.

dunno why they wouldnt take the place of the white stripes in team game modes as well, like all the footage we've seen so far
You'll see the patterns very likely even in team games, but since your main color (at very least) will be red or blue (or yellow or green), these skins will lose some worth. I you get to keep your secondary color or something like that though.

I'm hoping that these are like U:MvC3's costume sets, where people who purchase at specific retailers get some sets earlier (Gamestop got the Femme Fatale pack, Amazon got Doom, Sentinel, Strider, and Akuma; all of them became available for purchase at a later time).
That being said, holy shit some of that armor is hideous. Jesus. I like the paint, but that armor seriously looks terrible.

Maybe the secondary color becomes white in team games, as we've seen in screenshots.
I just hope there is a clear cut way to tell who is on what team. I don't want it being like a FFA game.
I'm still indifferent about these player skins.
The skins look ugly in the art but maybe they'll look better in the game.
I don't mind them I just wish they weren't retail exclusive or so boring. Military camo? That's just so dull. There should be a skin that gives you zebra stripes. Fish scales. Feather texture. Etc. But, that's the thing with Halo. They could have fun with this stuff. Don't have to tie in multiplayer with the fiction. Look at Red Faction. You can use an ostrich as a hammer. A unicorn as a gun that shoots rainbows out of its butt. But no, the guys that make Halo always have to be serious. Here's some dudebro camo skins. Can't wait until they unviel the barbwire weapon skin and the golden bling AR with laser sight.

Also, curiously enough, on Amazon if you change from the Standard to the Limited Edition the little box describing the bonus armor goes away and gets replaced by a generic "Halo Store" ad. Does that mean that we don't get the bonuses with the Limited Edition?

Still I think that these pre-order stuff is passable. I would have been angry if they gave stores special specialization.
But at the end I do not care about such armor stuff. Otherwise only Gamestop's armor permutation was exclusive to pre-orderer. Amazon etc. was available via the Armory in Reach.

If what you're getting are patterns and the colors themselves are customizable by the player, you could see these in team games as well.

Definitely some truth in that. They probably won't look nearly as bad in game. Seriously, I think I would go with the raptor armor over the rest, perhaps because people think it looks ugly lol.

Not even Call of Duty has pre-order exclusives that give you anything special in game. Some stores might give you a shirt or poster but nothing in game.
Looks completely out of place in a Halo game. Then again that was the whole idea with the Hayabusa armor (Ninja Gaiden, MC being in Dead or Alive 4).

That would be the only way to make this even remotely acceptable. It is ridiculous that developers are doing this now. Gears 3 is probably the worst offender.
