Nah, she has a long Bulletin to write. With lots of bits. NO megatons. I will say that there is but one or maybe two sleeps 'til a piece of media you have sort of seen already. But more better.

I guess she learned her lesson from last week lol.

It is the cinamatic trailer from SDCC?

Not going to lie, super jealous of Call of Duty right now. :(

Honestly, I would dump Forge for a feature like that.

Cinema Trailer Direct Feed. Nice.

Forerunner and Covenant Weapon trailers at PAX i can feel it deep inside myself.

New map(s) reveal aswell. Something ... Canyon relayed?

So, Crysis 3 is gonna have a MP mode that is its own take on Zombies, and it looks freaking good.

Its a shame Halo never tried to go further with the Zombie mode, because it really can be fun.. well not in Reach.. but yeah. But seriously, that MP mode looks like a blast, it really seems to merge the idea of Zombies and put a strong emphasis on survival horror.. The 'zombies' are guys in nanosuits that have invisibility and bows and they basically play out like Predator. It looks badass.

I would like it if they actually made MP achieve's hard, after all, that's what achievements are supposed to be. Not like the ones in Halo 3 like 'Get 2 double kills on a legendary map' But something fairly difficult like 'Get an overkill with a sniper in a ranked playlist (or whatever is the equivilent to the ranked playlist in H4). Every shot must be a headshot' So if you miss a single headshot while getting the overkill, you don't get the achievement.

That kind of thing just leads to circle boosting and would ruin snipes matches. I mean it would suck to want to play Snipes and you end up in a game where people are just lining up to boost or generally screwing around because they dont think they can get it.

Achievement's suck, I know CoD doesn't bother with them and I don't think Gears or Battlefield do either, they are just not needed.

Evolve predator into the game mode halo deserves.

These both have a decent amount of Online Achievements. In fact Gears is essentially online achievements.

While i agree they do not promote the best gameplay from people it stops people reaching 1000G easy. I had 1000G in "virtually" one playthrough of CE:A. I mean it was a crazy short amount of time after launch. Make near impossible SP achievements and MP achievements can rot in hell.

I'm talking things like SLASO or Mile High Club (harder than MHC) Solo Legendary Spartan Ops

Okay. The credit card wasn't charged (thankfully), got it taken down but had to swap it out for another one (see below), and turned off automatic renewal.

That went smoother than I thought it would. One thing I don't understand: Why the account has to have a credit card attached to it. Grrr....

Welcome back.

Dont welcome the Kittens, they are a health hazard and a nuisance.

What? They made you replace the card details with another card? That sucks. Im planning to avoid ever putting details into a console. Surely you can demand they remove card details though?

Glad it worked out btw.

2 sleeps ? good idea to release something in the gamescom time, it will be not forgotten

I think a bulletin about the specialisations could be interesting.

CCroatia if you read this, do you need one again for hunting ? I had to stop yesterday and my mic did some crazy stuff

It looked pretty awesome yeah. Halo could easily pull of a zombie survival mode. The audience is there obviously. Just model flood spartan models for the zombies and add a destination to go to and you'd have a similar mode.

Yes they did. The guy I spoke to said that I couldn't remove the card until I canceled the account or updated it with another card. So I thought to myself, "Well, if it has to be that way, might as well be an up-to-date card." I was told the other card was removed.

I don't like MS having that credit card attached to my account if I don't plan on using that credit card to purchase anything. Feels like a liability of sorts – a mistake waiting to happen. I remember clearly turning off automatic renewal before.

But it also comes down to the fact that I don't like giving corporations information about myself I don't think they need.

COD got streaming and Arena.

343, step up yo game!

I'm really hoping the next gen consoles implement streaming as a universal feature (along with screenshots & uploading to youtube). Take the pressure off game developers to spend dev money & time to develop the feature and just make it a universal function.

I can dream.

Glad the competition is heating up. So many games competing for my already small amount of free gaming time.
Want to see 343 bring their A-Game when it comes to keeping me interested.
So Halo 4 doesn't appear on this list for games at Gamescom :( http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/media/gamescom/downloads/pdf/presse/Neuheitenliste.pdf

Still have a little bit hope since it hasn't been denied yet by any 343 employee.
You poor soul.

Assume it's not there, try to forget about it and move on. IF (it won't be), it'd be a nice surprise.

yep, David Ellis tweeted me he also doesn't know of any builds at GamesCom..

I know it isn't 343's fault, probably more Microsofts, but this is outright stupid, every Halo Game was playable on the GamesCom/ Games Convention.

There better should be a Hands On in Central Europe, not everyone likes to fly or go by ship, just to play a game :/.

The concept of failure as an inducement to try again and succeed is difficult for many Americans to accept. Many will blame their failure on the game itself, instead of recognizing their mistake and trying again.

All the Americans here were wrong about Armour Lock! It's their fault.

I think he has a point but I don't think it's specifically an American problem rather a generational problem in gaming.

You should be able to call back now and remove the card. I know in the past (read: 3+ years ago) it was a total pain to get a card disassociated from your account, but I believe they've loosened the requirements quite a bit. I would bet there was some simple "glitch" that they couldn't remove an inactive or out of date card (or some other BS). If they give you the run around just politely ask to talk to a supervisor. You can most likely go 3-5 levels up the chain always asking for a supervisor until you get someone who actually has the authority to remove the card.

Remember to be polite with customer service. Their job most likely sucks the life right out of them every day and you'll always catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

There's a fragment of this argument that I'm interested in, and that relates to visual skill matching; I've heard the argument that Halo 4 doesn't need a visual indicator if it employs trueskill in the background, but without a common identifier of a person's skill, viewable to all, then it's easy to blame the game and become frustrated with the matchmaking system itself when your teammates play poorly.

In Halo 2 and 3 you didn't blame the matchmaking system when your team were shit, you blamed the players themselves, because you could see the logic working to match the players up, and you knew (within reason) who the other players had gone about gaining said skill level. In Reach, without this visual indicator, if your teammates did shit it was hard not to draw a conclusion that the matchmaking system had just failed, rather than your teammates having an erroneous poor game.

Yeah it's bullshit they can't just outright remove a card even if you have automatic renewal turned off.

I'm literally nervous every time I boot up Fifa because I know that I have a card on file, but thank goodness it's one that has 100% coverage liability insurance for purchases I can prove I didn't make.

Living Dead has never been fun. Bungie never even built on it in any worthwhile way. Maybe the black and white and gloomy filters? That's pretty much it. They could have given the zombie models new skins, added some creepy music during gameplay, more blood/gibs to the gameplay. The didn't do anything of the sort. Not that it would have made the gameplay fun in any way...

I do believe "zombies" has been squandered in Halo

It went from one of the most fun honor rule games ever, to a very bland slayer gametype really

Considering Microsoft has outright said that they aren't going to be at Gamescom. This isn't surprising.

But if 343 isn't there, would a no be so difficult to say? I don't assume there's an NDA on not being somewhere so I can't understand why we haven't gotten a direct answer yet.

You poor soul.

Yeah, this is my attitude right now. Gamescom is really fun so Ill enjoy myself anyway but Halo 4 being there would have definitely made better.

yep, David Ellis tweeted me he also doesn't know of any builds at GamesCom..

I remember Frankie saying there will be a tour through Europe later but that'll probably only be England, Spain, France and Germany and it probably won't be open to public anyway.

There's a reason why Halo isn't popular anymore in the Netherlands. I may have seen 1 commercial for Reach and Halo 3 on television here. People don't even know what Halo is. It's all about call of duty right now. Lots of game stores have CoD adds and so do many Dutch gaming sites. There's a news piece about every small CoD announcement while stuff like the UNSC weapon trailer goes unnoticed. Of course, this is not completely 343's fault (and Bungie's in the past) but they sure aren't helping either. There is little to no exposure over here.

There is a custom gametype in Halo 3 like that, it was fun the first couple times but it gets dull afterwards.

Zombies should have evolved into endless Firefight VS. (did that ever even exist?) where the "Zombies" are the flood. Spartan (human) players are the standard matchmaking characters. The enemy is a constant flood of... er... flood. Player controlled zombies are the infected Elite models. They have guns (but shoot poorly) and are more powerful than standard flood (AI controlled).

Throw in a dash of a progression system and give us a way to "purchase" in game inventory to stay alive and you're set. They could even tweak the new ordnance drops from games like infinity slayer to drop items of your choosing.

I don't see BO2 new MP features of Arena type and Ranking System a big disadvantage for Halo 4. It's good the CoD series has a chance to evolve the competitive side of their community this late.

Halo has been a step ahead on that for years with Halo 2, 3, Reach. (and Wars)

But I agree that 343 should unveil what the majority of the Halo community has been uneasy for awhile now about its new Ranking System. Hopefully we do get an Intel Drop that soon enough. Wishful thinking of some info. being said in the coming Podcast.

I'd rather see more trailers of MP gameplay instead. And maybe Tidbits of what the ranking system looks like to get HaloGAF all giddy and start screen capping the hell out of the trailer.

A ranking system reveal is the trump card for me. I'm not even that much of a competitive player anymore, but the atmosphere and types of games a ranking system provides (visual 1-50's or something similar) is something I'm dying to get back into.

Really miss those intense games from the Halo 3 era where every little thing you did (or didn't do) could make or break the game and ultimately, your rank.

Then again, a proper map creator (landscape editing, skins, color palette, etc...) to me would be equally as welcome. I know we're not getting anything on this level yet, but I've got to believe they have some more secrets on this front to share.
