You can't enlist in any Specializations until you've gotten all the way to level 50. This is end-game content.
So people who play the game a ton have an inherent advantage over those that don't? This is one of those things that modern military games do that I very much disagree with. I guess it'll come down to how matchmaking works out, but I could see it becoming a serious issue with the current Inheritor/Warrant Officer matchups.

In a bar fight with a redneck, don't give the UFC fighter brass knuckles. He's already the better fighter in this matchup and has spent more time at the activity.

No, Did you even read it. These cannot be used until Max Rank. Preordering allows you to select any specialization to enlist in at Max Rank where as the people who didnt preorder will have to wait till they are unlocked (by spartan ops weeks maybe?)

Then I guess the question that would raise is can you even hit max rank before 343 unlocks the other specializations.

If you can, that would seem to indicate no more credit / exp cap.

When reviewing saved films, will we be able to see the full load out, including specializations, players have selected? Teams that coordinate these abilities well will have an advantage against those who do not. Will reviewing saved films help players see this coordination?

Eh, I can see Specializations working very well in Infinity Doubles, or games with small teams/objective. But we still need more Direct-Feed. 5 matches plz.

Tell you what, these specializations do sound pretty cool. I like the idea of having a team with different specialization combos and each member being very good at a certain playstyle. I like it.

Its obviously an experience based 50. If anything this proves Halo wont have a ranking system. Just "invisible" trueskill. And what do we know about Invisible things? They got no code behind em!

Actually, they recently switched it to have a revolutionary new class system they like to call "Pick 10 Spartan Things." Instead of having slots for different things, you just have 10 slots that can be used for anything. Its revolutionary and totally unique to Halo.

hrm specializations and armor abilities. Well with 10x the variables of Reach, at least we know the game will be beautifully balanced

With no code behind them and nothing outward facing, does that mean they don't exist at all? Imagine if Reach actually had no skill system whatsoever and it was all a big game of emperor's new clothes.

Reach doesnt have a skill system anywhere except Arena...you really think Trueskill is in action in MM?

Even so the LE owners are going to have a HUGE advantage in the window of time between them being a high enough rank to use all 10 and that content being walled off.

Even after that period, when 'everyone' has access to all 10, newcomers are essentially screwed. I would hate to try and get into Halo 4 next year. If work is as busy as I think its going to be am I really going to have to go in and get killed by people who can see my last location? Oh lol.

Eh these "perks" seems to have very little effect on actual gameplay. More like tweaks than Buffs.

The more information 343 releases, the more it becomes apparent that Halo has taken a COD approach in terms of multiplayer perks and specialization. Even the fuckin ranking system is the same as COD.

No wonder they never will answer the question of whether there will be a competitive ranking system or not because there wont be. Thats not how COD does it and it sells copies, so why should they? This is bullshit! 343 really needs to learn from Valve on how to bring competitive gaming back to the game.

Well if there isn't a good TruSkill system, level '50s' will be put against low level players like in Reach, so the lower players will have an even harder chance in winning.
 
Ok maybe Ellis can confirm this.

Say we have 50 levels to progress through.

1
2 [Unlock Armor piece X]

...
49 [Unlock something Y]
50

So we get to 50. Then we can pick one of 8 classes to specialise in.

1 1 1 ...
2 2 2 ...
... ... ... ...
9 9 9 ...
10 10 10 ...

These last levels before the '60' will unlock armor pieces which have no effect on the player. The last unlock is an armor mod. Is this something that would appear below tactical package and support package in the Loadout menu and something that can be switched on the fly in the game?

If you max out a specialization, do you back to level 1 and work all the way back up again? If so, do you lose all the benefits?
