Consider the size of Exile and Ragnarok, this is actually large. Those two could easily be placed in the 5v5 CTF playlist - proper adjustments to vehicles and power weapons, of course.Another BTB map, OH THE JOY.
The other map will be the sandy one with the Mammoth, calling it now.
No. It is a MP map:Aren't you mixing up campaign screenshots?
Enjoy.
Now, someone relate this to halo.
Is it possible we don't have a Covie map because they won't have ships around in the campaign? Aren't the Covies we're fighting rogue factions?
Can't remember if we saw any Covie ships around Requiem in the story stuff.
MP locales have nothing to do with Campaign. Is it possible we don't have a Covie map because they won't have ships around in the campaign? Aren't the Covies we're fighting rogue factions?

That's some BS. There's plenty of covenant ships that made it's way onto Requiem. Doesn't have to be a big map...

Mmm.. so now we have 5 BTB and 4 Medium maps?
Shouldn't it be like 7 medium/small and about 3 BTB for launch? Forge maps galore in MM at launch.
Exile is a BTB map.
So far, every single MP map looks great. Abandon is the only one I have reservations about, but it still looks better than most Reach maps!
Also, somehow I didn't realize Adrift is symmetrical. The walkthrough really sold me on it.
6 small-mid maps (Adrift, Haven, Complex, Abandon, Solace, Exile) and 3 large maps (Ragnarok, Meltdown, Longbow) have been shown

Meltdown and Complex look absolutely fantastic to play on. I'm slowly turning back to H4 MP but I'll still go in with low expectations.

I really am excited about every single map so far. But yeah, Haven and Solace are the two I'm most amped about. I love me some 4v4 (or now 5v5?) symmetrical maps. But I'm also REALLY excited for a BTB revival in Halo 4 after how terrible it was in Reach. Meltdown looks like the best BTB map so far, followed by Longbow. I still think Ragnarok and Exile look too small for BTB. Especially Ragnarok. It really feels more like a 5v5 map to me.I don't love the darkness of Adrift but I could see it being one of my favorite maps. It seems like it and Haven are the 2 that will give is the most classic Halo feel. I also really like Solace.
...Complex are both mid-large maps. Surely?
I think something people need to keep in mind is that since sprint has become a permanent ability available to everyone, the map sizes as a whole have to grow. A map the size of say Lockout would be even more hectic (and potentially frustrating) since you could traverse the map in half the time that it normally takes.
Yeah, I think you're right. Here's how I see it:There are probably going to be a lot of maps used as hybrids, so segregating them into distinct categories doesn't really work in the same way that it has in previous games. Ragnarok seems like it'd work just fine in 5v5, despite its area being relatively large. Same for Exile. Those will both almost assuredly appear in both big team and smaller count playlists. Complex I think could be used in that way as well. It's very compartmentalized, so 5v5 makes some sense, but the total surface area of the map is giant, and it's really very complex (see what i did there something something) so big team matches on it don't seem out of the question.
My argument against this has always been, "then whats the point of Sprint?" As far as I can tell, sprint is supposed to get players into and out of the action more rapidly than before. If all the maps get exponentially larger due to sprint, it defeats the entire purpose of sprint. Why not just keep the maps smaller and not have sprint?

Ummm... I can't access the video for meltdown anymore. I think they are on to us.
That'd be cool. They could toss in a small-ish map with each Forge pallette, there's like 4 of those with 3 unrevealed no?
Sort of like default Foundry was a MP map in Halo 3
