Do you think we'll get an insane Legendary edition like for Halo 3? I went normal edition for Halo 3 but I really want those behind the scenes dvd's.

The Halo Wars Elite is so much better than Bungie's Elite. It's one of the few things they got right when designing the characters in that game. Also, is there a reason why the Spartans in that game were green and looked like variations of Master Chief but the Spartans in Reach are different? Not that it matters but I'm curious...

A humanoid digitigrade with a reptilian split jaw is about as iconic as a faceless space marine with a shiny visor :lol

One explanation could be, that Spartan IIIs, are looked at by the unsc as disposable, and are often used in suicide missions, so due to the fire and forget nature of their deployments, they can do whatever the fuck they want out there basically, so they customize their own armors the way they see fit after they're out there. Wait, they probably don't paint themselves after.... oh well, as Halo Wars was made by another team so they did their own thing. Spartans can be all types of colors I think.

Brutes are fucking awesome and I don't care what the haters say. I love the Elites too, but the way Bungie made them Space Samurai was, imo, just a bad idea. Their culture is boring and cliche.

Brutes are also cliche, their fuck awesome. They come from a hot ass planet, they live and fight in tribes that are dominated by huge guy's with ridiculously large hammers, they put Blades on Every God Damned Thing they make (even their hammers), they use plasma based technology to Launch Motherfucking Giant Nails At You and they ride around in huge lawnmowers. They also eat people.

Elites just run around screaming like girls with their fisher price lightsabers. I'm exaggerating, but still...Brutes are great.

Brutes could have been cool, not as the main enemy but sorta as a sub mini boss type enemy.

A bullet sponge that takes massive amounts of shots and is uber beastly like the concept art picture I posted above.
Exactly. They should have NEVER replaced the Elites, that did not go over well at all. Should have been their own enemy type, like what the skirmishers are now, but with OHK melee attacks and bullet sponge durability. Like a pack of fast Hunters (but not as tough as a Hunter).

The Halo wars Brutes are also pretty amazing much better than the Brutes in Halo3.

NO. HELL NO.

Brutes SHOULD NOT have Human proportions! It is soooo stupid. In Halo 2, they looked like huge Grizzly Bears coming to rip you up like a caribou. Halo 3 made them a little more humanized. In Halo Wars (loved the game though), they look like Harry from Harry and the Hendersons. DO NOT WANT.

Because in Halo Wars they were Spartan II's from NAVSPEC and in Reach they're Spartan III's from the Army and they don't have no fancy Mjolnir.

I guess Noble team doesn't have as many resources as the main Spartan II teams and if their armor gets damaged badly they won't have a spic and span replacement sitting at their base of operations.

They shouldn't have MJOLNIR armor in the first place and they probably fixed and customized their armor themselves a lot in order not to draw attention from Ackerson by ordering replacements. They probablly got emotionally attached to their armor and made sure to personalize it.

Same. I may have to go big for this and get the uber edition (which better be in an Oonsk package, dammit!)

Interesting -

Received a PM today giving some new leaked screens for the Halo Reach (Private Beta).

I think it might be legit?
ACTIVITES

And again, only menu screens... easy to fake if you're good with photoshop.

edit- yep, like you said below, a typo like that is not gonna happen with Bungie.

Damn... absolutely no gameplay

EDIT: it looks legit to me aswell. All the other videos i knew were fake off the bat. but this looks a bit more legitimate... a single screen of gamplay would cement that theory

I think the way the Halo Wars Spartans look can be seen as "the Wookie Effect". Allow me to explain.

Chewbacca was the first wookie ever seen by the public. For decades, he was the only Wookie ever visualized aside from his family in the Holiday Special (who looked just like him but with diff colors).

When Wookies did start making appearances in visual media, like video games and comic books They All Looked Like Chewbacca with only slight variations. A bounty hunter would have a flat top, or some wookies would have different hue in their fur. But they were generally just Chewie clones.

And then Episode III came out. Say what you will about the prequels, but Lucas gave Wookie appearance a much needed kick in the dick and the balls. They now had their own ornaments, vehicles, different hairstyles (although mainly dreadlocks, the point is they didn't all have the Chewbacca head) and armor that wasn't just a bandolier slung over their shoulder.

That's kinda the thing. Put generic grey armor on an Elite and it doesn't look like much.
But Bungie's armor designs for the Elites are awesome and different. And like it or not, Master Chief IS iconic.

The aliens in Halo looked best when you couldn't really tell what they were. Now that I got to see them in full with no imagination required, I realized they all look really goofy. The same goes for the environments. Non-hd was a blessing in disguise for me and halo.

If I was going to break NDA and risk losing a job which grants me early access to unreleased Halo games, I would leak something a tad more exhilarating than a fucking menu screen. Let alone one which confirms nothing new about the game.

Until I see gameplay consider your leak fake, fakers.

Exactly my thoughts. And maybe take a picture without waving the phone/cam wildly through the air. Nowadays you can take a good quality picture of a screen I think ;)

Another could be that Halo Wars is about as canon as Mister Cheif. It's an interperetation of the universe. Trying to canonize it is silly and will only end in pain.

It only slows things down for the driver who got boarded. If he wants to live or not risk the boarder killing him, then he has to stop accelerating. How does it slow things down any more than how it works now? It's just giving the boarder more options which I think is fair.

Did you read the last part of my post at all?

Ajemsuhgao said:
It slows things down. Instead of being instantly knocked out of the vehicle where you'd put right back into action after the very short stun period, you're have to get out, face the person, and start shooting. And if this was happening with what you said(the boarder being able to fire while hanging on), then he could shoot and kill the driver or passenger before he even exits the vehicle.

The driver will die nearly every time with what you've suggested.

def looks legit, esp the with low IQ that "recent played games" pic is hard to fake

I magnified it by 500% and didnt find any unusual pixel gradient changes

Silly Urk, it's much easier to criticize images and get butthurt than read words and put things in perspective.

Hah thanks Urk. Too good to be true I guess.

These fakes are getting better and better - that menu pic is awesome, and I don't think I've seen it yet. It has the Covenant Carrier (or Supercarrier) hovering over a planet in a way I haven't seen yet in any fanart.

I don't know about you, but I've been testing the NR for Reach like crazy! I killed three people once, it's OP.

Also, the Sniper Rifle has a 1hr delay between shots but I think that's by design so Bungie could maximize our Pizza and Xbox LIVE efforts. Eat a couple slices between shots.

The very last comment in there is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've read in a while. :lol

:lol :lol I was just over there reading their reactions to the new screenshots. I had to leave because I was embarrassed for those poor kids. They see something they don't understand and immediately condemn the game. That last comment certainly took the cake.

Once again pics of a menu. If you are going to leak something, leak pics or even vids of the game and gameplay. Menu leaks are most likely fake.
