I think Halo 3 actually looks far better than that trailer given circumstances of scale and actual gameplay...however to make it clear, the trailer was only drawing Master Chief, a mostly simple though large environment, and a few spacecraft. Things like AI, collision, any other required animations were not present so they had way more room to add visuals against it. There is nothing in that Halo 3 trailer that hasn't been done better by other actual games.

All of Reach seen so far looks better than anything realtime Halo before it.
 
Hey guys im a little lost... Game Informer is supposed to have an update today, when i checked, there was a Carter character profile but the upload date is yesterday with lehto's commentary. So is there another update for today or is yesterdays carter update supposed to be todays?... that would be pointless considering Bungie uploaded all the character profiles.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen it or something similar, but I've never seen this level of Halo played before, and I'm a 47 myself. Part of the reason it looks so great is the editing job, but some of these kills are insane.

That is one high budget theatre edit LOL.. gr8 kills. THey are a good team. I dont remember which player it was but i saw an MLG game and he ran the flag with perfect form, like ive never seen before.

EDIT: that video is way too long lol... and im not diggin the brohoe music

i wish Reach has Bots.... how epic will it be if a bot comes in and replaces quitters. Big Team Battle will never get boring 5 minutes into the game when a grip of people quit.

Bots are terrible in almost every game. The AI scripting is so complex and difficult that it's difficult to prioritize things with changing game conditions. Does the bot get on a warthog, go for the flag, or grab laser? These things vary depending on the situation, and it's hard to program a lot of nuance into MP bots.

Plus they'd sniper your ass constantly.

Heh - that video was good enough to win Best Montage in the 2009 Best of Halo Awards. ;)

Thats true but maybe it will be fun with customs or something. I remember having a total blast with Perfect Dark because of its Bots and you could chose the personality of each bot.

I actually think bots would be a good idea; they may not be on par with a human player, but if they only implemented one after a quit, it might in turn actually stop the quitting "domino effect", whereas one person quits, ruining the game so everyone else quits. The bot ai would have to somehow match the median teams level or something, though...or would just replace the lvl of the person who quit. That'd still be really difficult to measure, though.

I was just going through the list of Multiplayer maps in CE and i remember i loved them so much, cant beleive i almost forgot those sacred memories.

if bungie didnt worry about settings maps in strange locations like on an oil rig in the middle of the arctic ocean, maybe we could have alot of remakes!

Problem is nobody wants to make remakes. The community often asks for remakes while Bungie devs rather exercise their creative juices and make new maps. It's a conundrum.

well then hire somebody else to do it, its not exactly rocket science, and youd make alot of people happy!

Remakes should be outsourced to people given the task of making the map as accurate as possible above all else. Worked for Heretic. If Reach could have any use for remakes I hope to see a ton of them, it being Bungie's last Halo game, and I hope they continue to go the Heretic route.

Bit too chunky for my liking and I'm glad they've accentuated the agility and cunning of the elite model in Reach.

A size increase is also awesome, and together with Bungie's new animation approach, I can't wait to see them in action.

You know, it feels weird Bungie saying that, especially like that...
There's a certain measure of this reflecting badly on what they did with Halo 3.
*shrugs* I'm probably over thinking it, but...

This Falcon business, surprised when I read about it on the swedish site. Really interested to see why they have gone with the "Warthog of the sky" moniker. I want to hear what problems they thought the Hornet had.
