They did say that. That's probably in singleplayer only because it would become a pretty cheap tactic if you could just run up on someone and get an instant kill by tapping the "assassinate" button. It probably initiates by holding B in both modes, but in SP you can do it asking as the AI is not aware if your presence and in MP it becomes an optional stylized from behind assassination.
 
I'm just hoping that getting into games is much faster than ODST/H3. The loading times are atrocious...and the load before veto thing is just awful.

I'm asking this here because I can't exactly search for the Halo 3 thread.

The game keeps saying "Lost Connection: The game ended because a player left the game" when I try to play single player. I'm the only player here. What is going on?

Make sure it's not set to Xbox Live, and set to Local Only. See if that fixes it.

That sounds AWEFUL, multiple trip mines that can injure you would potentially ruin the flow of some maps (if the multiplayer isnt totally drastically different that is)

I think it is safe to say by how little they have shown and how anxious Bungie has seemed to get player hands on the MP that it is going to be changed a lot (even if just in that one "super secret" game type).

You know that post it could have been written 2 years ago when they were brainstorming ideas yeah?

They've CONFIRMED they're only going with the two original grenade types. They're not going to randomly throw in these new grenades for MP only.

Just leave it at the covenant, and just mix up Elites with Brutes, Jackals and skirmishers and maybe give us a few Grunt variants and I'm good.

I tried that and it didn't work. When I changed levels it works, I just couldn't replay the first level. Not a problem since I wanted to replay The Covenant aka best part of Halo 3.

Also, whenever I watch a video showing the crosshair towards the bottom of the screen it gives me a headache, but it never bothers me while I play.

I understand this may be a Bad Press = Good Press thing, but I just want them to get shit on for all these articles they are making (they clearly have something against Halo...). Then I'll stop posting their BS.

Ok, well at least it's ok now.

My Halo 3 save was having MASSIVE issues last year.

I hadn't touched it in over 6 months or so, and when tried to play it, it just glitched on me, and went into 'kill cam' mode from multiplayer, I'd die, and it would just go back to the main screen.

I had to completely delete my save file and start a new one to fix the issue. Luckily somehow all my records/data were still in tact. It still knew I had beaten the game on all difficulties. Which was lucky.

I'm not sure what you're last sentence refers to I'm afraid.

That doesn't adhere to any Forerunner design I've seen. I don't think that's Forerunner.
 
Can someone explain why Reach looks like Earth... in almost every possible way?

Also, cheers to Zeouterlimits for giving me a loan of the Halo 3 essentials cds. 3 hours of pure bliss.

That structure looks very similar to the Silent Cartographer entrance, actually.

One of the things I love about Halo is the forerrunner levels, because they are very fun to explore, and look much better than human levels (forerruner architecture >>>>> human architecture, IMO) I don't know how would they do it, but I kinda hope to see some forerruner structures in Halo Reach. Or at least make the human levels more interesting.

Rock formations, branching paths, tree on the left, ring in the top left corner (lol), tree line on top behind hills. Ok, I'm reaching here, but at least it was fun getting on the Halo CE warthog and driving to the area that image reminded me of to snap a pic.
I love the way the Halo 1 pistol looked on screen. They should bring it back in a similar form.

Damn, that looks extremely beautiful. Something similar in the final game plus a beautiful melody from Marty, and it'll be mesmerizingly perfect, as usual.

Unrelated, I cut the x10 artwork so it looks nice as a 360 background, for some of my friends and I, and we really how it looks. I'll post it here in case some of you guys would also like to pimp your xbox 360s Reach style.

Put on thumb drive, insert it on 360, go to My Xbox > Picture Library > Portable Device > press Y on picture to set as background.

I like the more mature theme for this game. The previous titles were too bright and child like for me, especially after reading the novels. The novels paint a gritty and dark picture while the game is a coloring book in contrast.

Hopefully this game is closer to the books.

I don't see why people call the Halo titles childlike. They aren't exactly Viva Piñata (cept GBDP in Halo 3...). I liked the use of colour in all of the games. Nowadays, the colour makes it stand out in a world of brown shooters. The aliens already have a camouflage, they don't need to make their armour a drab fatigue. It's more ceremonial than anything else.
