Got the game. eeeeeeh. It's 2014, 343i. Why can't I adjust safe zones? Even CoD gives you the damn option. Now I have to put up with this shit

it's just annoying. Not to mention menu text might as well be a blur.

Is it possible to install the physical disc (to avoid downloading ~48gigs), install the patches and then buy it digitally without having to download anything?

yes if you can get the disc from someone, buying online is just owning the license on your account instead of using a disc to check.

Yes. If you have a physical copy installed you can buy it digitally on xbl and use the same game without redownloading it. The disc is literally just physical DRM, buying it digitally is just a digital license.

What's up with the magazine look to the OT? I can fit like 5 words on my screen at a time so I just clicked "last page" and made this post instead of reading more than 1 "page"

Xbox discs data are usually the same as their digital counterparts. I want to say yes but Halo could be some weird exception to the case.

Cheers guys.

Download the patches without downloading anything? No.

Sorry, I meant once I've installed the disk and the patches have downloaded etc, then purchase it digitally.

Yeah, it's not very mobile-friendly, unfortunately. That's the problem you get with text-only OT's. I get what Mix was going for, but I personally wouldn't have done it.

EDIT: Oh, there's a text version below now.

Nothing new, there's been a few.

If you have a hard time reading the image OT on your screen then you can simply scroll past it and view the text version below it (starts at the first broken banner). The OP is repeated twice for a reason.

Been there since it was posted.

Physical copy owners, how long does it take after inserting the disc to be able to play Campaign? Mine says installing 1% at the moment.
at 37% after about half hour? not sure when I started it but I also have the 15GB downloading which slows down the install.

It was ready to launch somewhere in the 10's but I read only halo 4 is available if you play asap, guess that game installs first out of the four.

This just makes me wish Reach and ODST were getting the remaster treatment as well. :(

Reach was the best campaign of the series IMO.(ODST was fantastic in its own right)

I'm hoping we see Reach, ODST and Halo Wars added through DLC.

I also hope that when Halo 5 launches it integrates into MCC.

This would be amazing. Although it would be a pretty big file for DLC. Would be nice to have a physical available as well.

Does your tv have a 'just scan' or equivalent option?

Have you tried disabling overscan on your TV? Sure, consoles should just have a universal overscan setting, but your TV's setup sucks. You are getting less than 1080p in a non native resolution as a result of the overscan.

It's a option that isn't really needed in games anymore as just about all TVs can turn this off.

I don't know why you're defending this. The PC version had a safezone setting already. But they've disabled it.

Hell, most AAA titles allow you to manually adjust safezones according to your particular set. This isn't unheard of.

Not showing population numbers is such a fucking dumb idea. I am watching someone stream and they have no idea which playlists have enough people in them. Might be OK when the game launches and there are a ton of people online. But once population tanks showing numbers is critical.

Maybe they will add it once the game goes live. :/

I beat Sunset Overdrive just in time to pick this up tomorrow morning. So excited...what a good time to be an xbox one owner.

Yeah I really dislike this.

after how hilariously low Halo 4 population numbers are, they decided it was best to remove them from the equation entirely

good job FyreWulff

Change your tv Settings from 'overscan' to 'Point-to-Point' (or 'Dot-by-Dot' or just simply Overscan OFF and you don't have to adjust safezones ever again.

To anyone who could answer this or has a dubbed/non-English physical version of the game, does the game feature English audio if your console is set to English? Or does someone know if the US version has audio support for other languages? The download version supports a variety of different languages but it doesn't specify if it's audio/text and I don't know if they'd all be on the disc as well. Thanks in advance.

Alright here's a brief rundown of the new Halo Waypoint stats in the few min i have this morning:

Your service record is greeted with this:

This page also includes all your achievements and locked ones as well. You can filter by game.

There is a game history page which shows this:

Ranks are also viewable online per playlist and you can compare with friends/others.

Campaign records are also very in-depth. You can show scoring for different games, graph them, and show split times and/or score.

I bet this has already been answered, but will I be able to start and maintain separate campaign saves across multiple games?

Let's say I start Halo CE tonight but then want to jump to Halo 2 after a few missions, will the Halo 2 campaign save overwrite my CE save?
