Yeah, it's foolish to blame someone for not wanting to spend a ton of time "searching" over and over. So far I've managed to log in a little over an hour of playtime, but if you added up all the time I sat waiting and failed to get anything it would be a lot longer.
I've yet to get into anything besides Slayer.
Man, I really hate the term 'Open NAT'. It literally means nothing in actual networking parlance and is something that Bungie came up with to describe optimal conditions for connecting to peers.
Anyway now that my little rant is over the most surefire way to ensure that nothing is obstructing your console's connection to the Internet is to simply DMZ the console.

Having no sound options pisses me off. Not even a master volume slider? Seriously?! Cant adjust the sound on my headset because its the X1 Stereo headset and adjusts game and party as one. fml
EDIT: ohhhh so thats what those buttons on the side of the adapter are for. I should read the manual more. But the sound options is annoying

I'll look into that (I've seen the thread), but I really don't want to use cold boot if I can avoid it.
I used to have a moderate NAT, but going into Bridge mode fixed it. I used to not be able to connect to Titnfall. Now I can.

Before the first patch I was waiting upwards of 25 minutes. Now it's typically about a 5-8 minute wait.

Well they did say that they wanted to preserve the feeling of playing original Halo 2 on XBL.

I search for games for a minute max. If I don't get a match by then I quit. Had two multiplayer games so far.
343 screwed up multiplayer beyond anything I ever expected to possibly go wrong. I mean those games already had working multiplayer modes and some of the best netcode, how hard can it be to get it working? Matchmaking is not exactly rocket science, you basically have a server and a waiting list with people for each playlist. The servers should easily be able to take the first eight players of a waiting list and throw them into a game as a hot fix (cause it's better to play with higher skilled players than to not play at all).MarauderShields

I think half of my games have been on some version of Lockout. Someone please inform the community that Halo has other good maps.

Yes please. They should lower the frequency it appears in matchmaking voting purely to balance it out.
Somebody please choose Bloodline at least once. I love Blood Gulch and I'd like to play it some day.

I've been getting matches somewhat regularly. I am very disappointed by the lack of Headlong and Waterworks so far, though. Best objective maps in Halo, imo. Hopefully they get this fixed soon. I've been having a lot of fun when its working.

So I'm playing through Halo CE Anniversary and I'm surprised that the framerate is rarely able to stay at 60. I find myself switching to the original look for the better performance fairly often.
Completed Halo 4 solo legendary, felt a lot easier than when I did it on 360. Halo CE and Halo 2 are another story. Probably doing the rest of the games in coop.
Matchmaking has been getting better for me, found quite a few games today, still uneven teams though but I guess it's something.

I dunno if I agree with you. I generally prefer hit-scan weapons. The projectile BR just feels unreliable to me even when there isn't a lot of lag. I prefer the H2A BR for this reason.
Agreed. The Halo 3 BR feels like a real weapon and in a way shares a lot of properties with the CE pistol. Halo 3's sandbox in general just feels much more authentic/physics driven than any other Halo game, H2A included and I really enjoy that.

Lack of an objectives playlist is really hurting.
Given the option is available, people will always choose the simplest game mode - some slayer variant.
I just wanna find matches consistently. Looking back at my file share and each of my matches are at least 20+ minutes apart. It's sad.
When matchmaking is actually working I've been playing a lot in the Halo Champion Series playlist because two out of three of the options are usually objective game types. I'm favoring objective game types now purely because they tend to last longer and I spend less time searching and more time playing.
Game is running on P2P in 2014, so the door is wide open for that kind of bullshit.

Predictions: Patch goes live and it works for half of the population, but not the other half. Everyone will report mixed results. If it fails, Xbox Live will crash for awhile, right?
