The system did not froze, I could press to cancel. I'm turning it off with energy saving mode.

So about 18% into the 15gb update, it said ready to start. Lets me play Halo:CE and Halo4. But halo 2 and halo 3 are still downloading

just go the Power management settings and click Restart.
