How would that work? In conjunction with 343?

That's how I would envision it. If Bungie ever said "we would like to do another Halo" Microsoft would fall all over themselves to make it happen with 343's help I think.

Yup. I don't think fans ever truly figured out how to trigger it 100 percent of the time. Course I haven't checked on it in years so maybe they have by now.

Also love how they're honest about some of the easter eggs just being things they forgot to delete.
I had a different profile, each with a checkpoint immediately before a Halo 2 skull so I could get them all at the drop of a hat. That one in particular was a total bitch, you had to block off entrances to the courtyard you spawned in, drop a bunch of plasma pistols into it so you'd be able to kill the Elites that spawned. It was crazy. I miss that stuff.

GIMME DAT MUG

Haha, someone said "See you starside."

I noticed Marty earlier said "Be brave", too!

Yea I think if they really do that Mug it will be a must buy.

Wow, such a great send-off. Not many developers have this amount of love between them and the community.

Yup. That's a prime example of why I am a Bungie fan and always will be one. Well that and the kick ass games they've always made. lol

I'd like to see another ODST like game if Bungie ever came back to Halo, it just felt like they loved making that. Reach on the other hand...

That was a great panel.

Now I want Socialist and Writer's Block Grunts in future Halo games. You hear that, 343?

Anyway, GO BUNGIE! Thanks for Halo, and I'm sure your next game will be amazing.

I still want an origin game. Going from Halsey and Keys visiting and selecting John through Spartan training and their first Spartan missions. That would be incredible.

No way. As much as Bungie helped MS in the console market, MS turned them into a juggernaut. And it probably gutted a lot of execs in MS and people who were in Bungie that switched to 343 that Bungie would want to leave the Halo/Xbox fold. MS has now spent millions assembling a team which is capable of carrying on the Halo legacy as well as keeping some key people from Bungie. After Halo 4's release, 343 will be the Halo studio.

They already are the Halo studio.

That's almost sac-religious. 343 has a lot to prove still.

A fitting but sad sendoff there.
Hence hopefully.

I'm sure every Halo fan wants 343 to be better than Bungie, with no offense meant at Bungie. Nobodies perfect. But do what Bungie did and do it better.

Would adore for a smaller Halo project in the future by 343+Bungie (not whatever "Bungie" made Reach, I meant true classic Bungie). No shady contractual obligations, no high demands and no pressure, just a few key Bungie folks taking a year off from their game (which I'm thinking won't need their constant presence for an entire decade if the persistent online gameplay theories are true) for a Halo flavored labor of love.

Was the main Bungie team not involved with Reach? Also I thought Reach was a good game. Is it looked down upon by the community?

^ Not the whole community, but some like myself do look down upon it.

I wonder what the last panel from today will be all about and how it will differ that much from the first CEA one (other than no reach/TU talk).

Yes Bungie main team was.

Yes and no to your second question. Some do look down on it while some don't. It's one of those games you either love it or hate it. Bungie tried something different with armor abilites and bloom. At the same time they did retcon a few things in the Halo universe with the game which pissed off some of those that hate retcons.

I have seen some conspiracy theorist posts that the "A Team" wasn't focused on Reach.

The MP of Reach is very divisive, most people like the Campaign and FF, but the MP turned a lot of people off with the inclusion of AA's, Bloom and mostly bad maps at release.

Reach is a great game but alot of the changes (bloom, Armor abilities) were frowned upon by the community. Also, the maps are easily the worst in the series, and forge world's boring design doesn't make up for it. So much of the competitive feel of the game was lost because of all these things, in addition to the Arena being a complete failure.

Still, the community features and sheer list of things to do in the game push the series forward. I think the challenges system is one of the best new additions. The campaign was a bit stale in parts but had some great moments like LNoS.

Reach is overall still a good game. But the Halo veterans, especially though who are pretty good at the game, don't like many of the changes such as armor abilities, bloom, slower movement, ect.

Lots o hate for the game. People to tend to focus on the negatives, but only because they care and want to make a better Halo <3

Rate they're going, we'll have seen all the terminal vids before the game comes out.

I saw somewhere they may show Assault on the Control Room. I don't want this to be shown yet, but I won't be able to not look. Gah!

I watched the first one, but I'm not watching any more. I muted and stopped watching during the panel. Please stop showing them.

Ah thanks for the responses. I've oddly never been terribly interested in the multiplayer. I just play it for the campaign and I'm forgiving of retcons because Bungie seems to manage the story arcs in the Halo game much better than is historically expected of a video game developer.

Yup I agree they do a damn good job. IF you look at the retcons they have made it's been for the better. Namely adding other covenant species.

The reach one's to me aren't as big as people make them out to be. Namely the length it took Reach to fall in game compared to the book. Hell the first time through I never really paid attention to the dates. To me it seemed to take place all over a day or so. Then The second playthrough I saw that it wasn't. Also the POA is another big one they mention a lot. To me it being on the planet isn't that big a deal and it being able to take off I felt was handled well with the thrusters added to it to lift it and set it an escape course. There are some other minor ones but while I love the universe retcons don't bother me so much as long as they are done by the creators of said universe.

faster you fire, more inaccurate you get. It's on the BR/DMR which makes it annoying.

Fuck!! I hope not. I'm on the same boat, I don't want to look at it (or anything more than what I've already seen) but there's no way I can resist.

Ha, its in the OP:

Halo Anniversary Campaign Discussion
Halo Fest
5:00pm-6:00pm
Can’t get enough Silent Cartographer? Does Assault on the Control Room make you weak in the knees? If so, this panel discussing the reimagining of the classic single player Campaign is a can’t-miss!

That to me implies they will be showing it, but maybe not. I don't know where the schedule in the OP came from though.

Ugh, that is my favorite level and I was hoping to not see it til I play it.

I slightly feel the same way, but I hope the don't show T&R. Actually I don't really want to see any of them, I just find myself getting waaaaay too curious.

I'm pretty good at keeping myself on media blackout, or only seeing what I want to see. AotCR is definitely on my dark list. It's my favorite level, too, and I wanna savor it.

I watched the second terminal, but that's gonna be it till I play the game.

That's why I'll simply minimize and listen only. Course I say that now but I'm a sucker so I'll probably watch.
