Fuller hinted that Dolarhyde might do it for real this time as a form of revenge/justice on behalf of Hannibal.

Also, there's already been two successful and "complete" tellings of the story in two seperate 2-hour movie adaptations, so 6 episodes is actually dramatically longer than any previous filmic adaptation! Should be more than enough time to tell a fulfilling story.

I'm definitely curious how they handle it. Freddie's gender change is a small problem in and of itself, but I won't go into that.

Well I also haven't read the books. I don't know anything about the character's fates beyond the films. I also thought they played along the lines of the books loosely? As though we aren't supposed to expect a lot to be the same.

Yeah, I think I rewatched the Red Dinner scene like 5 times. Just wonderfully executed and amazing performances from Hugh and Mads.

Will is so integral to the show, though, I never thought he might not return. Hannibal needs a foil of some sort. The others, of course...

There have been leaked S3 set photos of
Hannibal and Will, both bloodied as if they've been fighting or were caught in a fight. Hannibal is helping Will in the photos...!

You're right in that they aren't afraid of mixing things around and aren't doing a strict adaptation, but I'll just say people familiar with the books/movies expect certain things to happen still in the show, and that's why they weren't surprised Will would stick around. And Bryan Fuller is fairly transparent about exactly what they are doing on the show as well, not being afraid to just drop spoilers here and there.

If you aren't familiar with the source material though, I say keep yourself as clean from spoilers as you can! Should make for a constantly surprising experience.

I may have some reservations about the show but it's just so beautifully shot and expertly framed. Just going by the trailer it can already be said season 3 will be a sight to behold. Bryan Fuller getting a third season is a reason to celebrate alone.

I didn't see Alana Bloom in the trailer. I missed if her fate was noted by Fuller yet or not.
But she's on IMDB for the season.

Holy fucking shit the location shooting for s3 looks incredible. Omg this is one of the best shows of all times!!! We need to make like a season rewatch hype thread before s3 launches to get the peoples on the hypeo train

I'm thinking this season, after the first few episodes, the positive word of mouth will be too large to ignore for most people. It does suck that some people don't like how dark the show is, they are really missing out...

Just be glad it's on NBC.

NBC is the one broadcast network that will give high-quality but low-rated shows a legit shot.

And even if NBC does cancel it, we're in an age where Netflix or Amazon or someone else could potentially pick it right back up. It certainly has more than enough acclaim to warrant interest from other outlets.

The Season 2 finale was one of the best season finales I can recall seeing.

It is going to be uphill living up to that.

I've already lowered my expectations accordingly. I still want the series to be very good, but there's no way the creators will ever top "Mizumono".

I'd be ecstatic to be proven wrong, but it's highly unlikely I will be.

I'll probably be happy. I think it's more of a possibility than most people realize. >.>

Ugh, I remember that tumblr. It's a Will/Hugh fansite for sure. I stumbled upon it after the S2 finale, and they were talking about the actors' interviews and how Hugh understands his character so much and how Mads is confused and doesn't understand Hannibal.

Really?? It's not that I read everything she has to say about Hannibal (and that's A LOT), but I never got the impression she dismisses Mads and/or Hannibal. Huh... Well, it's not that one fan's opinion is a gospel.
