the game was horrendous but it had Brianstorm and 21st Century Schizoid Man, which is more than we can say about a Harmonix game

Had Deadbolt by Thrice and Sowing Season by Brand New, so I really didn't complain. More than I had expected TBH :p

Should we get a next-gen Rock Band, unless they find a way to let my old stuff import from 360 over to PS4, I will be ignoring the series. I invested far too much money and I'm happy to bust out the 360 if I ever need to play though.

A subscription service should work pretty nicely IMO. I invested a couple hundred into my 360 but would still be extremely willing to buy a next gen rockband set, I'd just select DLC I really liked this time around or wait for a sale or something.

If I had only invested a couple hundred I might feel differently. Last I checked my RB3 library was at around 700 songs. That does include RB1/2/Lego imports and freebies, but even after that, I've spent a huge sum.

We need more Lamb of God and Metallica. I'll also accept more Pantera and of course let's get some Tool in there.

Oh, and give us Rock Band: Rammstein. This would have been so much better than Green Day.

Yeah 700 is a bit much lol, what is that, around $1400 at $1.99 a song? I know they had packs to reduce it but I just didn't have that much money back then haha. Not sure how they'd allow for importing, especially from 360 to PS4 but I'll hope for it aswell!

First things first, which will be I want a new Rock Band!

YES COME BACK TO LIFE ROCK BAND

Also lets get some Humbug tracks plox

edit: R U Mine is fun in Rocksmith, I think I'd find it boring in RB. Then again, I think most things they've done post Humbug aren't worth much.

I've got like 1,200 songs in my library. Pains me to think how much I've spent, but the game is just too damn fun.

Also, I find it hilarious that after 2+ years of silence, the "where's song/band X" complaints are back without missing a beat :)

HMX, can we get The National plz? ;)

I'm willing to pay some sort of nominal fee to do so.

I definitely didn't pay street value. In fact a lot of it was from getting points at a steep discount at Target at some point.

But even still, I am heavily invested.

I have zero interest in a subscription though. I have too many subscriptions already.

I quite liked it, lol. Since we're at it, it had Sultans Of Swing, 2 Minutes To Mindnight (fuck the censorship, though), Blue Orchid, Incinerate, Maiden, Mother & Crone, Plug In Baby (the custom animations and camerawork were hype), Runnin' Down a Dream, Steady As She Goes, Sweating Bullets, Woman From Tokyo and more.

My wallet can't handle this news. If I see a current gen Rock Band announced, with new instruments and we can transfer old DLC and songs, then my life would be forfeit. I would be living in my basement playing it nonstop.

This is awesome. I'm not expecting weekly DLC but hopefully this opens the door back up for monthly. I've been with c3 every week for the customs, but will support hamonix tomorrow by buying everything.

Can't wait!

If you've been with us, you should definitely support HMX.

I know I am. I'm trying to get my console back online so I can buy Microsoft Bananabucks as we speak.

So, who wants to play tommorow when the DLC comes out? Got no 360 mic sadly, I mainly play Expert Guitar & Bass.

I should be able to, I should at least have an Xplorer where I'm staying at. I usually play bass.

I won't have any other DLC since this will be on the 360 I gave to someone, and I deleted the 40 gigs of Rock Band to prepare getting a new 360 for myself to re-dl all my RB content for.

This has been a pretty awesome day after a shitty week!

Also, an interesting fact from the livestream is that Rock Band still has UUs in the six digits every month. They couldn't say the specific number since another company got the numbers for them.

buying each and every one of these on principle alone. I love Harmonix so much. what Activision did to the music genre is criminal. Harmonix deserve so much better than what happened. they did Rock Band DLC correctly.

Dang, to think at least 100,000 different people log into Rock Band each month makes me think the interest is still there for DLC/next-gen Rock Band 4. I wonder if this counts the people (like me) that only really play RB3 offline now to play custom songs (C3 is awesome).

It's not hard to believe. Harmonix did a fantastic job of keeping the community engaged with the game with the DLC schedule, so there was always something new for players to try out. Being 100% on top of the DLC aspect of the game from day 1 is one of the biggest reasons why it was destined to have a better retention than Guitar Hero, despite the generally larger sales for that series.

This is great news, especially if they start to the DLC up again.
I only got into the franchise in September (well, I had Blitz and around £30 worth of songs) with RB3 and the full band kit from the original and the keyboard, and I love it. Guitar Hero II was fun, but RB3 is in a different league for me.
The DLC has been a case of "oh, I have a bit of change in my PSN wallet, may as well get a song or two with it.", and it'd be great if they can get some newer songs in, as well as some classics that never made it.

Was just having this conversation the other day... It might soon be the right time to revive the sleeping giant.

Activision hath not killed the beast, only put it in a deep slumber.

It's time for new plastic instruments.

As long as the instruments are wired I would welcome a new rock band game for next gen. Probably cross gen though, knowing Harmonix' financial issues.

I never understood why GH had the spastic DLC schedule it did.

Seems like the perfect time to ask - I'll be having a party in the next few weeks and wanted to try 7 player RB3 for the first time. I have the following gear:

GH: World Tour guitar (with 2 USB ports on the dongle)
GH2 guitar
GH:WT drums
RB3 keyboard
GH:WT microphone

What else do I need to get some 7 player action going on my PS3? I only have 2 USB ports so I'm guessing I'll need a 4 port dongle? Will any type work or do I need a specific one?

Also, the other 2 microphones - would it be easier to get a pair of singstar mics (I'm pretty sure they used to have 2 mics on the one usb cord?) or should I look round for 2 cheap GH/RB mics? No idea what's compatible but I'm guessing someone from RB GAF will. Thanks

Does this mean there's a 0.000000001% higher chance that we might get more Beatles DLC?

Didn't Beatles get the full album runs of both Sgt. Pepper's and Abbey Road?

I mean, I know there are loads more great Beatles songs, but I think having those two full albums probably makes Beatles Rock Band one of the best supported music games that ever happened.

It just seemed like different production styles. Activision liked to announce DLC a month in advance, often from the same label at a time, etc. Very 'clumped' releases, that were often ready to go far in advance.

Harmonix often ran up to the wire on releases, two of them were even pulled in the hours before the announcement, so we ended up with two songs being pulled at the last second creating a single-song week that almost broke their streak.
