Hey, I'm in the market for a notebook computer for college and I have about $1,000 to spend on it. I pretty much know what I want as far as features, but Processor and RAM have me a bit stumped.
Is it worth it to get 512mb RAM and a lower end processor like a Celeron, or would it be better to get just 256mb RAM and possibly have money for an Athlon 64 or Pentium 4/M?
Keep in mind, I DO NOT intend to play games on the machine. It is basically for school, so my main reason for getting it is portability, writing papers, and internet, but I'd also like to be able to listen to music on it. Also keep in mind, I can NOT exceed $1,000.
Thanks in advance.
