edit: is there a list of how Malfurion got buffed? Actually, is there a complete list of changes (including the stealth buffs, which there seems to have happened a lot of) over the past two weeks? As expected, I'm completely overwhelmed despite having checked both this thread and Heroes-Reddit almost every day in Japan.

Just google Heroes of the Storm patch notes June 30th 2015. As for stealth buffs/nerfs, I never saw a post that pulled them all together like we usually have.

Chen's already got enough going against him but Battlefield is damned near untankable at certain points. The frequent and randomised AoE from the immortal, on top of all the CC coming from the other team you have to work around, pretty much nullifies his core role/ability during the fight over the main objective or when defending against it.

Edit: In the battle.net client go to HotS > Options > Patch Notes > Heroes > Malfurion.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

This is week 2 of Heroes for me and also my first MOBA. I'm currently Rank 28, played around 90 matches mostly against AI with friends.

I've got the map objectives down, and a good feel for a small pool of heroes that I like. Any general tips you guys wanna share?

I think one area I could learn more about, would be the merc camps. Is there a rule of thumb to them, when is best to capture them?

I mainly group with ppl who are relatively new to the game and it does feel like the skill and knowledge disparity seems greater recently, but that could also be comfirmation bias talking

Keep an eye on the minimap. Don't put yourself in a position where you can be ambushed by the enemy (when it's 'too quiet' and you don't know where they are).

For merc camps, do them when there is nothing else of higher priority you should be doing instead (defending base, pushing theirs, dping map objectives, active team fight). Some heroes can solo the camps ok, but generally it's better to do them (much faster) in a group, but not necessarily the full team. The Boss is a special case where you don't want to do it and get caught mid-fight by the enemy team, so generally it's best to do it fast when the enemy has at least a few heroes on the respawn queue (and the timer is not too short) and to attack with a big (or full) group to finish it asap

Awesome, thanks!

How come Kerrigan is going up in win % despite being heavily nerfed recently with the Blood for Blood and Envenom changes?

Yep. The only people left playing heroes like her, or Chen, or even Murky for a while there were just the die hards.

And like whoever it was (can't remember if it was someone here or the HOTSlogs founder on reddit) said, a lot of those heroes see their winrate sky rocket at higher MMR and it's abysmal at lower MMR due to the skill cap and people only using them in correct situations instead of just all the time.

Presumably the people still playing her are better at using her.

We've seen this a few times as heroes become more unpopular.
Makes sense!

Winrate is at 60% in Master.

Also, the winrate given on the front page is somewhat misleading- go look at the individual heroes' pages- it will show you their true winrate for their best specs.

After that, if you want more, Tempo Storm has awesome guides for individual maps.

welp, I'm terrible with Butcher (or overall, it seems).

Actually, I feel like I have no map presence at all. First game in 2 weeks, I didn't know it would be this bad, but I seem to have lost everything that I've known. I'm not looking at the mini map, I'm not keeping track on timers, I'm confused when to engage/back off etc. I'm currently experiencing the tunnel vision of my life - even more severe than the one I had when I first started driving a car.

This is gonna be painful.

Ya, sounds like classic return to Mobas to me. I will often be so occupied with one or very few little things like just basic mechanics that other stuff like map awareness just go down the drain. It will come back tho :)

I'm having a tough time keeping Butcher alive as well. Enemies just seem to backstep and then I get murdered either trying to chase after them or run away without any escape abilities.

With the release of Leoric, do we know if another hero will drop down to 7000/4000? Was that datamined yet?

Sitting on 10k gold and I would be really sad if I happened to spend it on a hero that will be cheaper in 4 days.

If they do, it'd be in 4 weeks or so.

Who are you considering?

Game has been running like garbage lately for me. Lag most matches and even now I've been trying to reconnect for five minutes. Is it this bad for anyone else?

I've noticed similar....except no Master skins.

People all going one lane. People jumping all over leaving lanes empty. One guy destroys a tower while our own gate furthest away needs defending so......lets go with the one guy who is managing to succeed leaving the gate needing protection empty.

I get why some people lose their tempers, so many got no idea.
Early kills are worth more than soaking after this latest patch.

They may be on a team together trying to coordinate those ganks.

I had absurdly bad lag last night for the first time in a long time..

ORD1 appears to be disabled now along with US10...leaving US8 for those of us in NA.

Every game is connecting to the West Coast. More lag for virtually everyone I play with except me...and the lag I get on US8 is harder than it was on ORD1, just not as frequent.

I didn't realize that was going on but I did notice US8 was lag spiking all over the place worse than ORD1 every did and I was like what the heck...

I'm surprised at how noob friendly this game is! I've played some MOBA's in the past not very extensively but I'm playing support right now and having a blast! best of all is that I'm able to make a difference in the heat of action. In DOTA2 or LOL I always get slaughtered right away during brawls.

My ping is higher on US8, but I haven't ever had a noticeable delay while playing on it.

Ah I guess just dave and proto then. It's better for me. Not by a lot, but at least it isn't constant high ping during peak hours like ORD1 is for TWC folks.

Well I was looking at Abathur. Looks fun and I place SC and Diablo heroes over WarCraft priority Wise.

Though looking at my remaining pool of heroes to Be bought...KT, Sylvanas, Chen, Thrall, Vikings, Zagara, Abathur, Murky.

I really should get KT or Sylvanas I guess..:(

So about the matchmaking support rule:
Is it allowed that one team has 1 support, while the other has 2?
I had that happening today. Wait time was about 1 minute, both teams had a 3 man party and a 2 man party

Yes. Why wouldn't it be? The rules are very basic and loose. You can queue as a 5 support team, all warriors, whatever you want. But for picking opposing teams it follows simple rules. If they have a support, you must have one too. no more than 3 asssassins. etc

Why people just stand there and take free damage versus pve golems. The circles are clearly visible to the point of being obnoxious yet they don't move for a very brief amount of time. Root damage alone can make or break a team fight bound to happen near the sub objective.

In another note, I really love all the content tempo storm puts out for heroes. The guides are useful and the videos have a good perspective on things.

Why do you think entry-level raiding became a joke in WoW?

Yes. Why wouldn't it be?
I am not talking about how good the rules are, I just want to understand what the rules actually are.

Let me rephrase a question:
Does it only matter, if both teams* have a support at all, or is the number of supports taken into account?
(* assuming both teams aren't premade from parties of 5, and no long queue time)
So it does it make a difference, if a team has 1, or 2, or even up to 4 supports, as long as it are not 0.

The rules are very basic and loose. You can queue as a 5 support team, all warriors, whatever you want. But for picking opposing teams it follows simple rules.
As I understand it, when you queue as a party of 5, no rules apply.

If they have a support, you must have one too. no more than 3 asssassins. etc
I wasn't aware, that there is a 3-assassins-max rule.
I only read about the support rule.
Are there other rules?

Yes. In May 2014 in Alpha (patch notes) they were set to this:

Heroes of the Storm Technical Alpha May 22 said:
Matchmaking

Rules have been added to help encourage the matchmaker to create well-rounded team compositions. These rules are as follows:

No more than 3 Warriors.

No more than 4 Assassins.

No more than 2 Support.

No more than 2 Specialists.

No more than 3 Melee heroes.

Please note that this does not prevent full parties from using any composition they prefer.

Team compositions which fall outside of the rules above can still be formed with partial parties.

For example: A three person party that enters the queue as 3 Support heroes is allowed, but will not be grouped with any more Supports.

If a party has spent longer than 6 minutes in the matchmaking queue, the team composition rules may be broken in order to find a match.

It was only recently they changed it to where if one team has a support the other team must have one. And yeah, you can have 1 support vs 2 in that scenario (or at least I've seen it a bunch).

You can't do mercs just as the opponents turn in the final coins anymore :/ Stupid change.
