Edit: there's too many changes listed to know if it'll be better or worse / easier or not. Sounds like grubby was into it.

Got a problem with me thinking that way?
Believing that Kerrigan getting her L1 E talent baked in as part of her base kit adjusts the skill cap of the character in any way is absolutely ridiculous.
Blizz just needs to release this info. I wonder if those are all the changes or just the ones he was able to see.
Patch notes Monday, possibly Sunday if they leak out on other time zones.

E drags the enemies a set distance. Properly placing the W in relation to their current position is completely unchanged. The skill involved in using the correct timings and placement is totally unchanged.

The range increase was considered mandatory in competitive play, and it's not like her other L1 talents offer any huge benefits, it just gives her a slight marginal buff.

Also, she was hit hard by the envenom/B4B changes, where she lost a ton of burst, so they're trying to push her back up the tierlist.

The Kerrigan changes actually make me want to play her more. I want a character that depends on shields and currently that is not Tassadar.

I've been screwing around with Possession for a few matches now because I'm just bored of insta-locking Black Arrow every match. I've been rolling with this build.

1) Barbed Shot
4) Paralysis
7) Unstable Poison
10) Possession
13) Splinter Shot
16) Will of the Forsaken
20) Dark Lady's Call

The goal being push more than one lane between objectives, stall or shift lane pressure. At 10 Possession can turn an entire creep wave, minus catapults. If you intercept a creep wave before yours and the enemy wave clash, you can double a wave pushing a lane. You're kind of a low rent Azmodan at 10. The problem is if you stay in the converted lane, it cuts into your siege damage output and puts you at greater risk.

With the first three talent picks Sylv can basically instantly melt a creep wave. At 13 you need only Shadow Dagger and fewer Withering Fire charges to melt a wave. So you want to blow your Possession charges and shift to another nearby lane to melt it. If there isn't a nearby lane that looks safe to convert or push and your team isn't fighting, I go merc. I find Will of the Forsaken is kind of necessary during free Butcher week. It's not as good as Ice Block, which can outright cancel the charge, but if you time it correctly neither the charge nor the slow nuke will affect Slyv. In general it's pretty good for escaping a lot of things and heroes that are generally problematic for Sylvanas split-pushing.

Dark Lady's Call is actually kind of useful, it shuts down siege ogres completely, they end up fighting each other and on Battlefield of Eternity you can nab the summoning merc which can dramatically shift the lane pressure once the dogs are dead. It's less useful on the 3 and 4 merc mobs but you can nab one and melt a wave in short order at that point in the game.

The trade-off is, obviously, you lose a massive teamfight tool but I've been choosing this build when I'm on teams that can't function well enough to teamfight. Still happens every now and then. I still show up and help with every fight and objective but overall there's only so much you can do sometimes.

I've been running a similar build in AI matches. My go to strategy with Possession is to treat it like Promote; grab the three warrior minions, blow up the rest with Unstable Poison, then leave as the lane gets pushed by a set of six warriors, three of which boosted by Possession. Do the same to a second lane then go back to join the team. It's still kinda weak. I'm wondering if I should just grab an entire wave before an objective fight rather than just half a wave in two lanes, because it'd be faster to get to the fight. But putting it all in one lane doesn't feel as useful.

Note: Medic with Medivac is an indirect buff to specialist split pushers.
 
Really psyched about the Kerrigan changes. She's one of my favorite assassins but she definitely needed a talent update.

I don't play Kael enough to totally grasp his changes, but it looks like his early game is getting better and his late game is getting less ridiculous, which sounds like what he needed.

Combining merc lord with superiority will make jungler Sonya a little stronger, that's cool.

I need some more Assassin Heroes, and was curious about picking her up for 7k thinking that she would get a buff soon, but held off from buying her last week. Still have the 7k gold though saved up! I love me some melee anything!

The Many-Faced Blizzard God saw fit to grant this one an opposing Rehgar who did not know how to play Rehgar when I was one game away from rank one. He healed for 4,438. In a twelve minute game. I bet his team was salty. Plus we had Sylvanas on HM so gg:


48-34, 82 games total.

I played a little bit of everything
including being AFK as my pick came up due to one reason or another 3 times (yes, shame! ding ding shame!) and getting TLV three times at random (which I can barely play and even less so a few weeks ago - what are the odds?). Final record on TLV, 1-2.
The majority was solo though I did group a couple games with Milly to get past rank 5 and into 4, and then grouped again with another guy who played support for 3 games once I got to rank 3.

Zeratul got me some wins at the beginning and the end, but it was shifting from picking mostly support to picking Zagara that got me the majority of the final two ranks.

The ironic thing about me hitting rank one is that this account is my very first account in HOTS and the one I played throughout Technical Alpha. Consequently this account is silver in QM and now rank 1 in HL. My main account is diamond in QM, silver in HL lol. Polar opposites.

With all that said...of course they'd fucking announce today they are resetting our ranks in (likely) less than two weeks. Short lived victory but at least I made it.

Started in silver now we here.

I'd like to see Yoshi play Kerrigan, considering how bad he is.

Congrats on no life, lol? My Kerri is sitting at 60 even at level 8, nice try dodging your skill vs. mine and bringing up one single character.

It's hilarious to see you talk about how players are so toxic when I've seen nothing but the same from you in this thread multiple times.

It was actually a blessing to see you not posting, sad to see you back. Good thing GAF has your back though and is completely okay with how much shit posting you do.

Superiority and Merc Lord being combined sounds interesting. I kind of dread the Robogoblin Gazlowe's I'll be facing.

I actually like Pyromaniac quite a bit, I've used it on more defensive solo-queue builds where I'm taking skills like Clairvoyance, Arcane Shield and Bolt of the Storm. It's great for those lulls in between fights where you just spam throw out free living bombs and drive the CD's down on your abilities.

I played with a warrior who thought they were the tank as if we were in a mythic raid in WoW.

Edit: Have the match making changes (placement games) been implemented already? I am seeing some really weird behaviour, the kind of stuff I haven't seen since the alpha or whne the game went public beta, people just afk'ing in lane, soaking exp to circumvent the fountain AFK, just yolo rushing one by one into a deathball over watch towers or lost objectives. Just weird, dumb things.

Just bought the Starter Pack for $11. Didn't have 4 of the 5 Heroes from it, plus I get that sweet tiger mount!

I have now spent monies on the following:

-$40 Founders Pack (ended up being a total waste because the whole point of this purchase was to buy access into the beta back then and I never even played it during that time cause I was intimidated by the whole MOBA scene. But it gave me some heroes, skins, mount and gold so whatever)

-$5 Starter Bundle (If you don't ever want to spend real money in this game I get it, but I'd highly recommend this $5 at the very least. Great deal with solid Heroes (Muradin!), plus you get a stim pack)

-$11 Starter Pack on sale (this was a great deal, already had Li Li but the other 4 I didn't own. Sweet skin for one of them, and the TIGER MOUNT)

All in all, I've spent $56 for a total of: Beta access, 11 Heroes, 4 Skins, 5 Mounts (they gave me 2 different pony mounts for purchasing stuff), 2500 Gold, and a 7 day stim-pack.

I just started playing this game a month ago, but I'm fairly happy with the pool of Heroes I have now. A total of 18 so far through bundles and in-game gold. Never thought I'd spend this much money on a F2P game but I don't feel bad AT ALL about it. I've already put more time into this game than any other $60 retail game I've bought in the past few years (mostly Xbox One) and it's just a ton of fun and Blizzard is a on a roll right now with this game.

Now I just need to save about 7k more gold to buy either Rexxar or Medic at launch. But I just hit Player Level 40, so the gold income slows down...
 
I've got Kael at 17 and the grind to 20 feels like it's taking forever. Those 15 and 20 hero rewards are the only thing left outside of dailies.

Every support in Heroes of the Storm is a healer, every single one. If the ability to heal isn't in their default kit, they can talent into it. How well they can heal is the metric by which they are scored by the game and deemed useful by the community. Tyrande and Tassadar have poor healing capabilities and are thus used less. Brightwing's healing gets nerfed and the hero drops like a stone. Healing equals support in Heroes of the Storm because of hero and game design.

Edit: Sometimes I'm happy HotS doesn't have items and other times it bothers me. Dota has a wider range of heroes with an assortment of abilities that can be classified as support.
You know, that's a good point. A lot of people misunderstand "supports" in DOTA making them ward bitches or healbots. But in DOTA "supports" are actually the heroes who can be viable without items and most importantly they start out strong whereas carries are more item dependent thus starting out weaker ending strongest.

HOTS could do similar dynamics by making "support" classes had access to powerful flat stat skills whereas assassins could have more % based skills that scale with level. That would be a more dynamic and flexible system than what they've got going on so far.

The swings matches are taking is nuts, like you're beating on a bag of puppies and kittens imbalanced. Most of the games I've been on are completely one sided, 30-something to 2 stomps.

I rally hate when people decide just after 5 mins of playing that we're loosing so they decide to stay on their line and never move from it just for the sake of making us loose more quickly.

Those people should be kicked out and be replaced by a bot or let us have a surrender button.
