Man, it's kind of frustrating going from playing tank-y warriors back to Kael'thas in solo queue. The DPS is so real but he's such a glass cannon. I almost wish that Blizzard would make Bolt of the Storm a WoW mage's Blink and put it at level 13 instead of 20. Make me choose between Chain Bomb and Blink at 13. DPS or Mobility/Survivability. Sometimes the push to 20 takes forever or, worse, doesn't happen. I guarantee I would choose mobility over dps in a some matches.
flamethrower is the survivability option at 13

Was the Kel'Thuzad model posted?

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
God, I am such a huge fan of Kel.... GIVE ME. GIVE ME!

Definitely can see Kel'Thuzad coming soon. Really popular character, he came up top on the Reddit Top 50 wanted heroes too.

That would just leave a Dreadlord to complete the WC3 Undead quartet which will probably go to Mal'Ganis or Tichondrius at some point.

not too familiar with this game but I'm thinking about taking it for a spin. If I've played a good amount of dota 2, can I expect the same concept from this game?

Laning phase only lasts til level 10, which is all of about 5 minutes in this game. You leave your lane to get objectives occasionally even in that time. There's no items, no gold, no carries, none of that sort of thing.

It's very team based and action oriented. Team fights happen over most objectives (whether it's a full 5v5 or 2v2 in lane based objectives like Dragon Shire) so there's a major emphasis in responding to your team's pings and them responding to yours.

Makes the range so big tho that you can safely poke from afar until it's safe / needed to go in further for W / E.

I always take range on E at 4. GP is good, yeah, but you have to live and make sure you're getting kills for the stacks which is hard on Kael until 20.

Blah, KT for the next hero?
We already have Jaina...So, I am going to assume KT will be a support/specialist hero with frost nova, frost armor/barrier, necromancy for basic skill.
Heroic...eh, frost plague: chain bouncing frost nova to all heroes.

I tried it for a bit but I do way better with GP, says hotslogs. So, while I'd like to have it... its for your longest CD basic spell and only makes you profit in certain situations, while GP always ups your damage, which is, after all, the most important thing. You doing the damage deeps.

Going for GP you obviously never can tell how hard it's gonna be to keep those stacks going, but there's still the at least 5% extra I guess (compared to, again, the effet on E which might not help yout AT ALL in certain situations). It of course also helps that I'm mostly doing a good job at not dieing too often with him.
Might be a bit different in Soloqueue of course (how would I know! :D).

Yeah, you gotta do what works for you for sure. I personally prefer the E. Can secure some early game kills and it's always helpful catching people trying to run away.

I doubt he'll be the next hero. Like Milly said, it's old news that randomly got dredged up again for some reason, and he only just had work started on his model. Personally, I'm expecting them to reveal the Heaven vs. Hell battleground and the Butcher on Saturday for a late June/early July release. Dataminers indicated in the late April patch he was the closest to Kael'thas in terms of amount of data before Johanna suddenly got added in, and Dustin Browder said the map was just getting fine tuned and adjusted at this point a few days ago. Mengsk and Mekkatorque also have ability names, some behaviors and a fair amount of voice overs listed, I wouldn't be shocked to see them soon.

Remember how I kept talking about these new kids being too afraid to attack anything?

My team was doing a good enough job of... well... not killing them much... but I guess looking very scary so the enemy team all stayed home? So I just ran around collecting and turning in coins.

Launch week in a nutshell.

It's unlikely- I'd expect mono-Diablo characters leading up to the Heaven v Hell map reveal.

Tank meta, new meta?

75% of the games I've played since Jo dropped there's been at least 2 tanks, if not 3. Ridiculous.

Johanna + 2 tanks on free rotation = too many tanks. Especially with them having nerfed the damage on all but Mura/Anub.

I'm normally not one to complain about overdoing nerfs/buffs- but each patch the viable warriors are based almost solely on who Blizzard has ended up pushing head and shoulders above the rest with the patch changes. Except for Tyrael, because he's a specific niche pick who actually has damage.

I finally did it.

Some stats:

Honorable mentions: Anub'Arak which I have been putting to work the last few days with 10 wins and 4 losses. Li Li the dragon tamer which I abused for that week, with 16 wins 8 losses.

Starting hero league was awful. Was mostly matched with dreadful teams and had at one point an 80% loss rate... And while the only things those games had in common was me, that was some supremely shitty match making. Almost dropped the game back then. So many clueless idiots that should stick to quick match for a few weeks or months. Harsh, but it needed to be said (and I made sure to say it, repeatedly). After much whining I finally got out of the slums. And the balance evened out, at around 60% win rate. Of course, you still get the odd bad team, even at single digit ranks, though they become rarer and rarer. Glad they extended the preseason, let me take some time off.

Ok so how do takedowns work? I'm getting a ton of kills because I have decent MOBA experience and the first few games I played were against pretty bad opponents. However, the number of takedowns people have does not match. Also, is it just me, or if you are destroying the other team, the game stays close? They don't really reward you for playing well like league.

I just started today, so the mechanics are still somewhat new.

Good point being made about the Blizzard ban system- the first team getting 3 picks pre-ban while 2nd gets 2 seems incredibly imbalanced.

In other games, kills near you but not made by you (not landing the killing blow) would be called an "assist". In HOTS, both kills and assists are rolled into "takedown".

Jakes hyping his Saturday Youtube stream pretty hard- sounded like we're probably getting a look at the D3 map along with other upcoming goodies.

Honestly laughed at the thread title. Good work. Then had to try and explain it to the other half who just ahook her head at me.

I hate when people keep bitching about the team when they are losing. They typically aren't even doing well themselves, yet they blame everyone else for their problems. Why would anyone adjust or listen to someone berating them or being aggressive? I just laugh at these people then do not help them when they are getting destroyed.

Played a few games as Falstad tonight and did pretty well for myself. Really enjoying Falstad and I might make him my second purchase, although I'm not crazy about his 7k cost. Valla was an easy decision at 2k, this guy not so much.

Also I have to say the influx of new players is really quite something. I don't consider myself to be a particularly amazing player but some of the people playing today were just...bad. Thankfully they were never on my team. :D
