Just about done the SC2: Legacy of the Void expansion, and I have to say there are some neat new Protoss characters I really hope get added to HotS.

I'll spoiler them just in case (though they're just images of new characters). Blizzard's Protoss designs have come a long way.

man, you guys need to check out glaurang's stream. Straight up smokey jazz mr. rodgers soundtrack shit going on. it's too good.

I'm so bad with Sylvanas, I dunno why I have so much trouble figuring out how to make her accomplish anything

You know you're bad when someone who cares so little about QM they pick random select says you suck dick

Guess he won't mind getting reported either

I'd have to say she must be the character I'm the worst at in the game next to Lost Vikings. I don't get it at all. She seems so straight forward, but I get tunnel vision. Never happens with any other specialist.

Anybody else have a character that just won't click for no apparent reason?

Edit: Broke down and read a guide. Seems I've been trying to make a build that hasn't been good with her in months work. That might be a factor :p

As your lovely teammate says, I "suck dick" with any character that has skill shot, making Lili my best friend. Once I was told that Sylvanas should avoid TFs until lvl 10, so with her I push lanes and get mercs on my own until mid game.

I like to see Karax too, but maybe he would be too similar to
possession Sylvanas.
, I'm sure we will see
Fenix
at some point, probably
the purifier form as default but you can buy Dragoon real Fenix skin lol

In the LotV mission where you control 6 heroes (two at a time), I liked using Karax the most.
Although mind controlling robotic units doesn't really translate to LotV and dropping cannons is covered by Gaz.

edit: Spoiler I guess?

I agree. I don't think his current abilities translate well to HotS, but his character is just so good I hope they find a way.

I just didn't feel Karax... he felt pretty generic. He was literally just Protoss Swanson (and the fact that the two had a scene together just showed how inferior of a Swanson he was).

I'm pretty sure his only character trait is "be a protoss engineer".

Finally listening to this weeks Townhall Heroes, and I think the discussion on the grand finals and the tournament structure was both pathetic and pretty shitty to Dignitas. It wasn't the structure that resulted in a stomp in the final - C9 didn't drop a game over the final weekend, and Dig clearly choked. They had earned their spot in the final, and the structure wasn't the issue.

The Invitational, which they keep quoting as the gold standard because of double elimination, has produced dull finals for the last two years. Sometimes it happens, it's the nature of sports - I think it's happened in every sport ever. Sometimes the best games aren't the finals, for whatever reason - it just happens no matter the structure.

The entire conversation felt whiney and bad towards Dig.

Agree to disagree then. He stood to me as a sharp contrast with every other Protoss character we've ever seen. Where they all talk about nothing but battle, honor, and pride, and throw themselves into any confrontations headfirst, he exudes curiosity and patience. The other Protoss are flashy and direct, and he is not. And toward the end of LotV, he
represents an important change in Protoss society, by being the first of the Khalai caste to command an army, leading to Artanis's decision to remove the caste system entirely.

Agreed to an extent, but we've seen the same/similar sentiment echoed here and in other places.

IIRC and I'm paraphrasing, but Familie (RIP) said more than once that he wanted to see Dig win, but he wanted EU to win so he was pulling for NaVi...basically saying he thought Dig had no chance at DK or C9. I've seen that from several people and of course, like you said, from THH as well now.

I dunno if people felt that way because Dig relied on pocket picks to get so far in the past few months or what it is, but it seemed like they suffered the same fate as TL but in a different way in that final matchup at any rate.

I agree with them it should've been double elim. Doubt Blizz will ever do that at Blizzcon due to time constraints though and I don't know that it would've changed anything, but at least it'd have been consistent with the RTB qualifiers.

Road to Blizzcon wasn't double elimination though either?

Admittedly, Europes was a complete mess so I might be wrong, but I thought all the RTBs were single elimination, and then the regionals used the same format as this tournament (with Europe for some reason going to best of 5 in the semis).

I'm fine wIth the format changing, it's a good discussion, it's just the way they did it came off very negative towards Dig - which coming from a team that came last in the tourney and one that failed to qualify seems a bit out of order. Dig got screwed to a number of factors (choking, small hero pool reliant on certain picks being the main two) but I don't think the format would have changed that. They knew how to beat Navi, and they were only team to take a game off C9 in the group stage. Also bearing in mind digs relative newness compared to most of the other teams.

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Road to Blizzcon qualifiers here in NA were all double elim. If you recall, each time Tempo Storm beat C9 in the finals and then faced them yet again in the grand finals. That's what Zoia or whoever was talking about...C9 got tons of extra games against TS because of the double elim which helped them work through their late game failings over time.

The Americas Championship was not double elimination as they set it up like Blizzcon due to time constraints as they had a venue + live audience. There were complaints before/after then no about double elim too, as that was when C9 finally toppled Tempo Storm. We had a discussion on here about it matter of fact, about how TS didn't get the chance to come back and try again like C9 had the 3 previous qualifiers.

re: them pooping or not on Dig, I think you hit the nail on the head. Their small hero pool for folks like Bakery + the experience factor probably plays into that sentiment.

And Wednesday you'll be even happier as its Cho'gall day!

It's interesting that the most casual moba out there is introducing a hero that literally cannot be played by new players. No other moba has done that, and given Hots lack of community stuff I do wonder how it will play out.

All the heroes shown at Blizzcon look amazing, after a summer of dull, unfun heroes it's nice to be excited for new releases.

I wasn't that excited by Lunara until I listened to THH and took a look at her talents. She looks incredibly fun to play and I'm a ranged carry in my team, so perfect for me. I love the fact they are trying a new approach to talents on both her and Cho'gall - both have a tier of talents where every choice affects one ability. I think that's a much better way of doing things because it stops you having to chose between damage and utility (pro-tip, 99% of the time you take the damage!).

Greyman also looks fab, if a bit out of my comfort zone (I'm dreadful on melee assassins). He effectively has a teleport though which I love.

I havent checked it out but i think community is going to congregate in a chogall chat room for this

The hatred will be unending as they scramble to unlock a hero they can't use again with people whom they can't coordinate with to make him work even while unlocking.

Gonna be an interesting week in QM for those brave enough to venture there.

Chogall is designed to get people to play again via social networks. It's pretty brilliant.

Not completely true. A random number of people will get him for free on release, to seed him in the game where it's needed (maybe some regions do not have many blizzcon viewers?). Suspect we won't see any random seeds in EU and NA though.

He will eventually be released in January though for gold and cash. Will be interesting how all the timing works - will we get another patch with talent gating, matchmaker and Lunara / Greymane before Christmas?

Just a reminder, I'm NA, single, willing, and craving the Cho'gall

So the latest THH video goes into talents on the new characters? Am I forced to listen to this Zoia guy to find the infoz?

What's not completely true? I don't see the post you're replying to.

And I can hook you up Fine Ham. Can't remember if I have you on b.net or not though.

Gotta be partied. That's why folks are making the channels. Even after the spread you can't play the hero unless you have someone with you willing to pick them.

Aw that loses out on a lot of hijinks and also inadvertent stranger chogall roleplay (go this way, no you go this way, etc.)

Makes sense tho

Friend was in a game with someone roleplaying Abathur the other day

I should really go all in and try that

or rather

Recommend attempting verbal simulacrum with organism Abathur

Result preferential, potential execution, questionable

It does make sense re: Cho'Gall, but it does kinda suck when you want to play him. It's definitely a bit of a double edged sword.
