Playing Murky when the opposing team don't know anything about the character is pretty funny. They left me alone in bot lane on blackheart's bay ... vs a kerrigan that was also alone. Their Kael'Thas was also not very good at positionning. Let's just say they were ignoring their core at the end because they just wanted to kill me for how much annoying I was during the game and they didn't even managed that.

You have discovered one of the greatest joys of Murky. When you are so annoying that you can get a whole team to chase you across the map to attempt a kill that will only last 5 seconds while your team obliterates their shit for free, you have been playing him right.

Edit: not worth getting a ban over this. I am so, so, so glad Kael'thas free week is soon over. By far the worst week. I'll take Nova week all year over one more week of Kael. I can't even fathom how fucking terrible people are at this game, let alone playing as Kael.

It's incredibly bad isn't it? Especially when people are just following guides online, so don't take Fel Infusion when their team has no healer, take gathering power despite the enemy team having nova AND zeratul, constantly push solo...
Incredibly frustrating. I know you can't get away from people playing cookie cutter builds they have read on the net, I just wish my MMR was higher so I could escape the . Had a Brigthwing take Bribe on Tomb of the Spider Queen last night, which is practically useless n that map, and where observation drone is just ridiculously good.
Kael = no escapes = bad positioning gets you killed = use the goddamn buddy system or die.
Kael week is awesome for Nova, tho Zeratul is just better.
Free week novas are astonishingly unfun to play with. They think they can't be seen so go solo constantly and then accuse the enemy team of hacking when they are revealed. They blow triple tap on tanks at full health. They initiate fights and think holoclone will save them. They roam the map ignoring objectives trying to get leet kills.
She's a type of hero who brings out the worse in people.
Unfortunately there's not a lot of escape from the Novas as she seems to be unanimously one of the first heroes people pick up in Quick Match. Free week or not you see in a good 55-60% or more of games I'd bet on your side or the other. It certainly feels that way. She was in every game I played last night IIRC. Usually these Novas aren't much but it's just in the free week it's even worse.

The solution to counter the annoyance of Nova week is to pick Nova yourself and play her well. Then your team has a clear advantage over the enemy team/Nova
I personally freaking love Nova's playstyle.
Yeah, I do this with some characters. Blocking the terrible people queuing up is a huge boon. People with some actual experience on characters like Sgt. Hammer or Kerrigan this week probably did well for themselves.
I was thinking about buying Medic Uther, but after seeing that Judgement set I think I'll just wait. Would never use another skin for Uther.

It is a solution, indeed, and a viable one in Kael week and a few others. Unfortunately since you can't guarantee you would've had a Nova or face one in QM, IMO it's the safer bet to go with Zeratul if you want stealth or another ranged assassin entirely insofar as helping your team. Obviously if you dig Nova and are good at her have at it, but I'm speaking purely from what is most likely to contribute to the team in the most meaningful way with no clue what said team will look like.
Her lack of ability to contribute to anything but killing is a disadvantage and considering the RNG nature of matchmaking she's just as likely to face 2 tanks and an Azmodan (where she's mostly ineffectual) as she is to face a team of squishies whom she can feast on in order to utilize the one advantage she has. She's just so easily countered by the random whims of the matchmaking versus others heroes that I've never been a big fan (for example, it seems like the majority of the time when Milly79 queues as Nova we face a Tassadar).

Anyone else curious how the testing is gonna go tomorrow and for the next week on PTR? I'm also curious about how many people will actually test that aren't min/maxers or pro players beyond a few games on the hero they like that got changed or to see the new map.
I'm curious if they will up the pick rate on Battlefield of Eternity to get more testing in, or if it will slot in as 1/8th.
That's probably the best and worst thing about new maps coming out. If you do badly on the map, it doesn't come around all that often on average. If you love the map or really want to keep trying it, it still doesn't come around all that often. It gets even more pronounced the more maps we get, too.

Maybe they could do like in Diablo where they up tremendously the legendary drop rate on the ptr but with a Heroes twist. Like say, all heroes are available during the PTR phase or have an increased gold gain if you play games in that realm I don't know.

I would have expected all heroes unlocked with all talents available, i like the idea of popping into the PTR, but if it limits me to the free rotation or i have to level characters to access all talents i think i would jump in just to see the new map and then go back to the regular servers.
It sadly looks like you're limited to whatever you personally have available on your account. That could be good for some and bad for others.
I'm unsure about all heroes being unlocked from Blizzard's point of view. That was my initial gut reaction too and I assumed eventually it would be something we'd see. However it's a slippery slope from their point of view probably.
On the one hand, players would theoretically get to play heroes they might not have otherwise and will potentially spend money on them on the real servers.
It's also possible that since most players don't play every day, these players could wait for the PTR to be open and simply play whenever the PTR is open and get who they want for a few days and then go back to Hearthstone or WoW or whatever they play...meaning they never spend money. They aren't padding play numbers or logging in for dailies. A lot of players never spend money, but at least they are helping create queues and the like.
Obviously this would require conditioning of the playerbase by Blizzard for the second part to come to pass, but we see people in thread and on reddit already regularly wait or avoid buying any heroes because they know it'll eventually come into the free rotation. you can't put a price on sparks
they could put players in 2 categories, people who dont play that often only get access to what they paid for and people who play a certain amount of hours on average per week get access to a larger amount of heroes for testing on the PTR.
or maybe it doesnt matter because the PTR has enough people playing all of the heroes.

Using Nova is so much fun still I am not really good in the Assassins role maybe I am pretty comfy with the specialist field of not enganging enemies all time

They aren't testing the new heroes and I wouldn't expect them to.
PTR is for balances changes and the new map only tomorrow. The Butcher won't be available.
If they made the newest hero available, it kind of kills the impulse buying. A decent chunk of folks buy the new one regardless of whether we love it (like Sylvanas for me) or never play it (like The Lost Vikings) with gold or with money because we don't really have shit else new to get. If I could try it out and get my fill beforehand? Probably wouldn't be so keen.

So just saw something that was a bit weird. Two matches got paired with two people, both named baby. Each match they played the same, brightwing and Kerrigan, did the same pattern of going around getting coins, getting camps etc both matches.

I'm nearly rank 1 in Hero League. I've been solo queuing nearly 100% of the time. (Might queue up with a buddy every now and then.) I've been consistently floating around the 9, 10, 11 ranks. I've hit a bad streak a few times as I tried to experiment with more heroes and widen my pool--would go back down to 17 and have to grind my way back up. The game seems to think I should be higher regularly, though, cause it frequently throws in ~100 "skill points" if I hit an apparently bad streak.
I've mastered Sylvannas and Murky so far--as in they're my most comfortable, and I have their master skins. 35 HL wins with Sylvannas and 37 with Murky (after that is Zeratul with 11). I'm rank 5 now.
Murky is too fun. His skin is too beast. His plays are too stronk.
I'm glad that Envenom is getting nerfed so that Murky players will be forced to make the right choice (Living the Dream) from here on out. It's sad, sad news for Sylvannas though, even though her nerfs are arguably for the better. For Thrall, though? My God.
That's all the thoughts I have for now fellas! Hope Anub get a nerf. I'm scared that I don't see one in the PTR leaks. Hope that gets changed.

Went to check out High Templar Zeratul since I've been wanting to get a Zeratul skin for awhile now and man is that a lazy skin. It looks just like a recolor, but they apparently wanted to charge for it.
Might have to buy Arthas next week because I have been enjoying him when he is free.

I really didn't think I'd get into this game, i was accepted into the beta a long time ago but never bothered with it, but i started playing last week and have gotten to level 20 so far, gotten Murky to level 9, purchased with cash 3 heroes (1st real cash purchases on a F2P game since Tribes Ascend) and spent gold on a bunch of others and have everyone one of the heroes to at least level 6 (including al the weekly ones)..
Its just so much fun to play, i really hope it remains successful and gets decently popular.

They've said a few times they are working on it but their main concern is the security side of that, where people will then be enticed to gain access and gift their own accounts whatever they can off of credit cards and so forth.

Well to be true to Murky there are three great mounts depending on the skin you choose.
If you go Master Skin Murky you pick the Hearthstone card (I prefer Legend tint but the basic card back works too). It just fits.
If you go Funny Bunny Murky you pick Wonder Billie as the colors go well together.
If you go Grunty Murky you can ride the Pandaria Hearthstone card for the red tint and the Legend Hearthstone card for the white tint. If you go blue tint you go for the generic Cyber Wolf.
If you are playing Murky and didn't get a custom skin of some kind you are no Murky, only an imitation. Srsly his base skin is bad.
I'd be willing to bet if Blizzard continues to back it like they are it will remain successful. It'd take more effort to fail than it would to be successful long term at this point. As for popularity, I think it's doing pretty good for having only been live for a few weeks.
