Same.
All the usual sites that get info early on region free blu-rays are silent.

Okay... we've heard back from Warner Home Video. That Best Buy version of Blade Runner: The Final Cut isn't an exclusive after all. Turns out it's the exact same Five-Disc Ultimate Edition on DVD that's available everywhere else in the briefcase... and yes, it does include the briefcase. Best Buy basically just posted the artwork for the Digipack that's in the case, rather than the briefcase itself. Go figure. So there's no exclusive, and the 5-disc DVD version (that includes the workprint) isn't available in Region 1 without the briefcase. We've revised our in-depth review of the set accordingly.

Amazon prices for today, grab both of them for my anime room. $509.96 for 2 1080p HD players

.hacked said:Just a bed room that I put a couch, my older 1080p Samsung LCD and all my anime in.
was my old bedroom before I took over the master bed/bathroom.
needs work but it will be a fun room to fix up after the new year (along with the rest of the house).

That's why I balked at the Amazon Blu Ray offer they had. I'm only buying the Uni titles on this latest one. Generally, I'm not the one to care, but IF there's an imminent announcement, I'd like to hear what it is first.

Jeff-DSA said:Funny thing...I buy all my multiformat stuff on HD-DVD to keep this crazy battle going as long as possible. Sure, it's lame having two formats, but look at how cheap the prices are getting on the hardware and all of the crazy BOGO sales we get. The longer this format war lasts, the longer I'll be getting 2 for 1 deals on my movies for both formats.

I thought you prided yourself on not having to wait, but what it looks like is you just skipped a Blu-Ray sale but still partook in an HD-DVD one. Weird. Aren't you committed to keeping both formats playing in your home? And if not, why aren't you holding back on all purchases?

Being neutral right now rocks, I basically get twice the movie collection I would otherwise thanks to all the nutty sales. Once the war is over, so will the days of BOGO sales.
Oni Jazar said:Have you checked out how cool Star Wars looks in HD DVD or Blu-ray? The Godfather? Indiana Jones? Lord of the Rings? Back to the Futre? Jaws? ET? The Lion King? Aliens? How about smaller films that you may love but didn't hit as big at the box office?
There's a reason why a lot of titles aren't there and won't be for a very long time: it's because the HDM audience is too small. And one of the top reasons why people aren't buying HDM is (surprise!) because of the format war. So enjoy your cheap copies of Old School and Wild Hogs. I'd rather have titles that deserve to be in a home movie collection.

Oni Jazar said:There are quite a few gems that have been released in HD but everyone is different and until mass adoption sets in you'll never get all the movie titles you really want.

It's the most common error on HD DVDConsumerSquare said:I need a bit of tech advice...
I have gone two Hot Fuzz HD-DVDs now and both crash and give me an error message around halfway through the movie. Has anyone had an issue like this? I wrote the code down but I don't have it handy. Starts with a 4...
Anyone familiar with this?
I can confirm that this appears to be a disc error and the way to fix it is to simply replace the bad disc.
I sent in my "bad" copy of "Hot Fuzz" combo HD DVD disc to Microsoft for analysis per this thread at Home Theater Forum:
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=262897
My old disc always froze about 58 minutes into the movie with the 408bc504 error code.
The replacement disc that they gave me plays perfectly.
So I recommend that if you get this error forget about washing the disc and just send it back for a replacement.
There are some bad batches of HD DVD discs out there.
I've heard of some people having to go through 2 or 3 replacements until they finally got a disc that plays perfectly.
I have not watched the whole movie yet, but my replacement copy of "Hot Fuzz" played with no problems on the section that was giving me trouble before, as well as random scenes that I watched on the disc.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut, spectacularly restored and remastered from original elements and scanned at 4K resolution, will contain never-before-seen added/extended scenes, added lines, new and improved special effects, director and filmmaker commentary, an all-new 5.1 Dolby® Digital audio track and more. Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Edward James Olmos, Joanna Cassidy, Sean Young, and Daryl Hannah are among some 80 stars, filmmakers and others who participate in the extensive bonus features. Among the bonus material highlights is Dangerous Days, a brand new, three-and-a-half-hour documentary by award-winning DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika, with an extensive look into every aspect of the film: its literary genesis, its challenging production and its controversial legacy. The definitive documentary to accompany the definitive film version.

Disc Two
DOCUMENTARY DANGEROUS DAYS: MAKING BLADE RUNNER
A feature-length authoritative documentary revealing all the elements that shaped this hugely influential cinema landmark. Cast, crew, critics and colleagues give a behind-the-scenes, in-depth look at the film -- from its literary roots and inception through casting, production, visuals and special effects to its controversial legacy and place in Hollywood history.
Disc Three
1982 THEATRICAL VERSION
This is the version that introduced U.S. movie-going audiences to a revolutionary film with a new and excitingly provocative vision of the near-future. It contains Deckard/Harrison Ford's character narration and has Deckard and Rachel's (Sean Young) "happy ending" escape scene.
1982 INTERNATIONAL VERSION
Also used on U.S. home video, laserdisc and cable releases up to 1992. This version is not rated, and contains some extended action scenes in contrast to the Theatrical Version.
1992 DIRECTOR'S CUT
The Director's Cut omits Deckard's voiceover narration and removes the "happy ending" finale. It adds the famously-controversial "unicorn" sequence, a vision that Deckard has which suggests that he, too, may be a replicant.
Disc Four
BONUS DISC - "Enhancement Archive": 90 minutes of deleted footage and rare or never-before-seen items in featurettes and galleries that cover the film's amazing history, production teams, special effects, impact on society, promotional trailers, TV spots, and much more.

WORKPRINT VERSION
This rare version of the film is considered by some to be the most radically different of all the Blade Runner cuts. It includes an altered opening scene, no Deckard narration until the final scenes, no "unicorn" sequence, no Deckard/Rachel "happy ending," altered lines between Batty (Rutger Hauer) and his creator Tyrell (Joe Turkell), alternate music and much more. Also includes:
Commentary by Paul M. Sammon, author of Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner
Featurette "All Our Variant Futures: From Workprint to Final Cut"
